“Lu Han!”

A boy with messy brown hair looked up from the book he was reading. He already spares an empty seat beside him for his friend and smiled as he saw the other one coming.

“You’re almost late, Bao Zi” he said to Xiu Min.

“Dear Buddha, the traffic here is unbelievable” Xiu Min panted and rested his head on the desk.

Lu Han giggled as Xiu Min’s pale cheek tainted with red flush and bud of sweat from all the running he had this morning. “Why do you think I bother with that rusty motorcycle?”

“As soon as I get familiar with the street and I have enough money, I’m going to buy a bike”

“I could give you a ride across the town, that’ll be faster”

“Really? You’ll do that for me?” Xiu Min gave him a pleading doe eyes.

“Yes, I don’t have anything to do anyway today”

Xiu Min grabbed both of Lu Han’s hand and squeezes it near his heart “You’re my hero”

“Geez, you’re such a drama queen” Lu Han chuckled and slapped his hands.

The two of them become friends in short time, with the same bubbly personality, they also share the same hobby and have many things to talk about each other.

“I’ll treat you something as my gratitude” Xiu Min said as they walked to Lu Han’s motorcycle.

“Great, I’m starving and I know this great place that you’ll like”

“Did I mention I need to save money?”

“Yes Yes, I know...” Lu Han rolled his eyes.

As their bike drove off the parking lot, a black Ferrari cut them, making Lu Han squeeze his brake tightly with an eerie sound so they won’t crashed.

“, what kind of a person drives like that?” Xiu Min cursed as the car went of like nothing happen.

“That my friend, is the kind of person you should avoid if you want to graduate from here” said Lu Han as he catches his breathe.

“Why? Someone could get hurt and he didn’t even bother to check on us”

“Trust me, it was better if he ignored us so we wouldn’t get any trouble with him”

“Really? I didn’t know you’re a scaredy, Lulu”

“Yah, don’t call me that. I hate it” the younger pursed his lips.

“Bwoh? You call me Bao Zi, what’s wrong with me calling you Lulu?”

“Bao Zi is a compliment... Lulu is like calling me a girl...”

“Why should I be flattered when you call me a round plump food??”

As the two friends were quarrelling, in the black Ferrari...

“What is it, Yi Xing?” the man with a neat gold brown hair asked the person sat on the passenger seat beside him.

“Nothing, gege. I thought I saw something” Yi Xing kept his face straight ahead.

“If it’s about Lu Han, I told you to forget him” the man said again. His long bangs fall to the side of his forehead framing the perfect statue face.

“I know. I’m not stupid to make the same mistake again” Yi Xing smiled to the other person, the same angelic smile he used every time he wanted to end a conversation quickly.

Xiu Min whistled as he stirred a mix of flour, sugar and egg. His trip with Lu Han went smoothly, the younger was patiently repeating his description about the main street in Beijing he need to know, they weren’t going too far from the campus because they spent too much time at the restaurant. But Lu Han promised to take him again when he have free time.

“I’ll help you to clean these up” said Mrs. Lin suddenly.

Xiu Min raised his head and smiled “Don’t bother, I could do it myself” he shook his head “You should hurry home and send my hello to your grandson”

“Oooh you’re an angel” Mrs. Lin cooed in admiration “I’m glad these recipes could help you and I wish you luck, my son”

“Thank you, Mrs. Lin, I really appreciate your help”

“See you tomorrow then, dear”

Xiu Min continued his work and was admiring the result when his phone ringing.

“Bao Zi!!! I missed you already” a cheery voice on the other side greeted him.

“Yah, we just said good bye two hours ago”

“Fine, fine... You want to be the grumpy bitter old man that’s fine with me. Just don’t forget to bring my today notes tomorrow  and your soccer shoes, let’s play soccer tomorrow”

“Really? Lu Han, you’ll play with me?” Xiu Min jumped in happiness, he really like soccer and he was one of the main player at his soccer team back in Seoul. It’s been months since he touched the ball and his body was aching for some action already.

“Yeah, it’s just soccer, I’ve played it a few times before”

“Lu Han, you’re the best! I love you”

“...”

“Lu Han?” Xiu Min pressed his cell phone closely since there’s no sound from the other boy “Are you still there?”

“Yes!” Lu Han suddenly shouted “Anyway! See you tomorrow!!”

“What’s with him?” Xiu Min shook his head as the phone went off.

“Why am I even doing this?” Lu Han stared at his phone in disbelief.

Xiu Min was copying Lu Han’s notes when he heard a car stopped and footsteps from the first floor. He glanced at his clock ‘It’s still too early for Tao to come home’ he thought suspiciously. ‘Omygod, what if it’s a burglar or a kidnapper?’ his eyes widened as his imagination went wild.

He grabbed a baseball bat and went out of his room, he pressed his back to the wall as he carefully walked down the stairs to catch the intruder. The sounds come again, this time from the kitchen so he tightened his grip and approached the door.

In the dark he saw a figure on the counter ‘Okay, he’s not that big and not as tall as Tao, so it really is a burglar’ he thought.

“What are you doing?” suddenly the lights on and Xiu Min turned around to saw his brother stood on the door frame.

“Tao? Then who’s...” Xiu Min turned again to the stranger. A handsome boy with an interesting feature and a nice shape jaw line smiled at him. He has a gentle face and wore black square frame eyeglasses.

“You must be Tao’s brother” he said in a melodic voice.

“Step brother” Tao scoffed and opened the fridge.

“Aaah... I’m sorry” Xiu Min awkwardly lowered the bat on his hand.

“My name is Kim Jongdae, but they call me Chen here” the boy approached Xiu Min and raised his hand.

“You’re Korean?”

“Yes, but my family lived here since I was little, me and Tao were childhood friends and our parents are cousins” he laughed.

 “You’re 19? I’m your hyung then, call me Xiu Min”

“De, hyung, If you need help with your Mandarin, I could teach you” he kindly offered.

At that time both of them could feel Tao’s cold eyes stabbed the back of their head.

“Don’t bother” Xiu Min laughed nervously.

“Don’t worry, Tao is a little tiger. He’ll get soft later”

“Mind your own business, would you?” the black haired boy flinched. “Want some cake?”

“No, and I know you don’t need my help to finish that”

“You’re staying the night?” Xiu Min asked to Chen “Have you guys eaten? I could make you something”

“Thanks, hyung” Chen grinned “We’re about to order something but Tao found this and I’m sure he’s not interested in dinner anymore” he pointed to Tao who sat comfortly in the living room with a plate of big cut of cake in his hand, smiling.

“He’s so cute when he ate” Xiu Min chuckled.

“Yeah, you really found his weakness”

The older who was cutting vegetables turned to the boy who sat on the counter “You knew?”

“I’ve been in this house for years they could mistook me as their child, I know the maid always left in the afternoon after she finished her chores”

Xiu Min smiled sheepishly “Don’t tell him, okay? He wouldn’t eat it if he knew I made them”

“Is that a request? You owe me then” Chen winked playfully.

“Yah, you witty little...” Xiu Min raised his knife, played along.

After he stir the vegetables and fried an egg, he served it to the boy who waited patiently. “Here you go, not much but at least you could sleep well”

“Thanks, hyung. I’ll eat well” Chen said cutely with chopstick on his hand.

“I’ll be in my room then. Good night”

After Xiu Min left, Tao joined his friend and sat beside him.

“You didn’t say he’s cute” Chen chuckled.

Tao scoffed without any reply.

“Now I know why you didn’t let me visit these past months”

Still frowning, Tao tried to hide his emotion. Chen is his best friend, he knew exactly what was hidden behind his soft face and angelic voice.

“You don’t intend to keep him to yourself, right?”

“Shut up, Chen ge. I don’t care what you do with him”

Chen smiled “Glad we make it straight from the beginning”

“You’re not bad” Xiu Min sat on the grass, straightening his feet.

“And it amazed me that short legs of yours could ran so fast” Lu Han sat beside him.

It was already late in the afternoon as the two boys stopped their game. Both of them weren’t in their best condition since it’s been months since Xiu Min played soccer. He was too busy with his lessons at home or walking around the neighborhood. But he missed the feeling of running on the field and sweating from exercise that made his body sore.

“You’re not that tall, Lulu “ Xiu Min rolled his eyes.

“But I’m not that short, Bao Zi” the other more.

“Yah! There are two things you don’t mention to a guy, his looks and his heights” Xiu Min pushed Lu Han to the ground and pinned him down.

“Eew, Bao Zi, you’re sweating! Get off me!” Lu Han pushed him as beads of Xiu Min’s sweat dropped to his face.

“Say that you take it back” Xiu Min tightened his grip and put his weight on the boy under him.

“Ugh... What did you eat? Omygod, you’re so heavy”

“If you don’t like it so much, take it back” Of course he was joking, it was fun messing with Lu Han.

“Fine Fine! You win! You’re cute, handsome, adorable, funny, kind...” Lu Han’s face flushed as he turned to the side.

“You mean it?” Xiu Min stared at him, their faces were so close and unknowingly he leaned down a little bit more.

“Yes, and could you get up please before people took it the wrong way” Lu Han shut his eyes.

“What would people think?” Xiu Min asked softly, he just felt reluctant to moved.

“I don’t know, you tell me” now the younger looked at Xiu Min’s eyes and they spent seconds like that before a passer by coughed.

They separated in a sudden and turned to the other side. “Maybe because we’ve been under the sun for too long” Xiu Min chuckled.

“C’mon, I’ll get you home” Lu Han sighed, he stood up and gathered his belongings.
