There's Only Two Things You Must Do Today: Breathe In, Breathe OutTaemin’s POV
The mall was packed. For a small-town mall in America, I was surprised how shoulder-to-shoulder
everything was. It took fifteen minutes for us to get lunch. Key was pissed and Jonghyun wasn’t helping with his
overly ual behaviors making everyone embarrassed. Last thing we needed was for someone to recognize us
and spam the internet with “Jongkey”. Gosh-forbid anyone would mistake Minho and I’s bromance for 2min again.
Onew was waiting at the food court for his American girlfriend, Becca. Minho stayed behind with him. I was
walking towards a store oddly named “Hallmark”. Now I know my English isn’t perfect, but that doesn’t sound like
an actual word. But hell, I loved the cute cards and stuffed toys. I loved to play with them. Especially the fluffy
teddy bears! Gosh I wanted one…but Key umma said that it isn’t good to buy stuffed animals at my age…so he
bought me ice cream instead!
Jonghyun told me to sit quietly in a corner in Hallmark while he and Umma went to Abercrombie & Fitch.
Jonghyun wanted to get some more clothing, and Key wanted to buy something for his girlfriend, Brianna, who
we’d be seeing later tonight. So, here I was being pushed around like a three-year old. Sometimes I wish
American’s would realize who I am just so they wouldn’t treat me like a little kid. For goodness’ sake! I’m famous!
But a skinny little asian in a place like this had no effect on these people.
I decided to leave the store and sit out in front of it where there weren’t as many people. But while I was people-
watching, I noticed a particular person. It was a young girl, younger than me, with short reddish-brown hair
brushed against her forehead in ringlets. Her long brown and blue sundress went passed her knees and her black
heels gave her a few inches. Her square glasses angled her round face nicely. She seemed to be in a hurry,
which is what caught my eye in the first place. Everyone else was moseying along, but she was pushing through
the crowd excusing herself at every turn. I saw her scurry into Hallmark and watched through the window as she
selected and purchased a card. She passed by me as she just as quickly scurried off. I got up from my spot and
started off after her. I’m not sure why I followed her, but my feet just kind of took me in the direction she was
going. I felt like I needed to know this girl…as if fate was bringing me to her. Everything has a reason, right? Even
if it was just one small glance…
