“That’s Gongchan!” Jinyoung nearly dropped his phone in shock. “Baro, go check to see if he’s okay!”

     “What… What are you talking about?” Baro shook in the seat of his car. “First, a zombie Sandeul, next, a wolf Gongchan? Is there anything else you need to tell me?”

     Shinwoo furrowed his eyebrows, keeping his arms crossed. “What’s going on, Jinyoung? I’m not understanding at all why you’re so panicked.”

     Jinyoung took a deep breath and said into the phone, “Listen to me, Baro. I really need you to step out of your car and check on… the wolf.”

     “Uh… Okay. I guess I could do that.” Baro cautiously exited and went around to the front. “What the–?” 

     Wearing a stretched out and torn suit with clumps of black fur stuck to it, Gongchan laid in front of the car groaning. He sat up, clutching his head. “Baro-hyung? What happened?”

     “Gongchan! Are you okay?” When the boy in front of the car nodded, Baro said into his cell with a quivering voice, “He’s okay.”

     Jinyoung let out a deep sigh. “Alright, Baro. Here’s the next step. I want you to bring Gongchan AND Sandeul to Shinwoo’s apartment. We’ll all explain what’s going on. I’ll text you his address.”

     “But–!” Jinyoung hung up before Baro could finish. He shook his head before offering help to Gongchan to stand. “Are you sure you’re okay? I hit you pretty hard.”

     With his arm draped around Baro’s shoulder, Gongchan nodded again as he climbed inside. “Yeah, I should be fine. I’m sure I’ll be sore in the morning though.” He began brushing off the tufts of hair off of his clothes. “And sorry for giving you a scare. I’m sure you wouldn’t have thought it was me when you hit an animal.”

     “No. No, I would’ve never thought that.” After they were buckled in, Baro saw that there were no cars around and made a U-turn. “We have to make a stop before heading to Shinwoo-hyung’s place. Those were Jinyoung’s orders. And then you’ll have the chance to explain what all this is,” he said, taking a handful of dark fur and tossing it out the window. “You’re going to leave the biggest mess in here.”

     Gongchan shrunk down in his seat, ashamed. “Mianhae.”

     “Don’t worry about it.” Baro gave him a small smile before looking back to the road. “It’s nice to see you again. It’s been years, hasn’t it?”

     “I know this is off topic…” Gongchan reached down and picked up something off the floor, “but why do you have a ski mask in here when it’s almost summer? And are those bullets!” he exclaimed, noticing that they were scattered on the floor. 

     Baro took the face covering from him, and chucked it out the window as well. “Looks like we both have a lot to explain.”

     Baro turned the corner to see the same convenience store he robbed the night before. As two police cars rolled out of the parking lot, Baro parked the car hiding behind some bushes. “Okay, here’s the plan,” he whispered. “We’re both going behind the store, where those trees are, and look for Sandeul.”

     “YOU STOLE SANDEUL’S BODY?” Gongchan yelled in fear, trying to leave the vehicle as fast as he could. 

     Baro left the car as well and snatched Gongchan’s bruised arm, making him stop and flinch. “No, I didn’t! This was all Jinyoung! He told me to watch that zombie. Now, you’re coming with me to find him.”

     Meanwhile, holding onto the package of bandages, Sandeul sat in the backseat of the police car. 

     “I’m not sure we have the one who broke into the store,” the police officer said into his radio. “This guy doesn’t seem like he would do any harm. He has no weapons, and he’s all beaten up.”

     “Ji… Baaa…”

     “And either he’s playing dumb, or he really can’t speak,” the officer continued. “I think I should just let him go.”

     Sandeul looked out of the window with his dazed eyes, unsure of where he was. He thought for sure he saw Jinyoung and Baro a while ago, but his mind refused to comprehend anything, and that made him sad. A tear rolled down his scarred cheek.
