I woke up, feeling like my left shoulder is being torn from my body. I blinked for a few times, adjusting my vision from the blinding light. 

 

"You're awake." 

 

Stating the obvious, ate. 

 

"I'll leave the both of you muna. I'll just buy some food." Ate quietly said before leaving the room.

 

I looked at my legs, as I felt pressure on it. 

 

Ah, just a little maltese who probably fell asleep. 

 

Dahan-dahan akong bumangon para hindi magising ang little maltese sa may paanan ko. But I guess she's a light sleeper dahil bigla siyang nagising nang marahang masagi ng binti ko ang braso niya. 

 

Nagulat pa siya nang makita akong gising, but she immediately helped me by stacking the pillows so that I can lean on it. 

 

"What are you doing here?" I asked, my voice a little bit raspy which she noticed because she immediately went and gave me a glass of water.

 

I heard her sigh as she sat back down again. 

 

"I saw you unconsciously lying on the floor na puno ng dugo ang balikat and you're asking what am I doing here?" Tumaas ang kilay niya. "Of course I'm worried!"

 

"You're worried about me?" Medyo gulat na tanong ko. 

 

"No!" She immediately answered, sounding a bit in denial. "I'm worried na baka isipin ni ate Joohyun na I attempted to murder her sister."

 

"Which you kinda did." Singit ko. 

 

Yumuko siya. "Yes. I'm sorry." She sincerely said. 

 

Hala, I'm just kidding with her!

 

"Nothing is your fault, mad puppy." 

 

Umiling siya sa sinabi ko. "No. Ako ang dahilan kung bakit nag-dugo 'yang sugat mo sa balikat."

 

Umiling din ako. "My stupidness is the reason why I got this cut in the first place, mad puppy," I said. "This is my fault all along."

 

"If there's no cut, there's nothing to bleed. So please, don't blame yourself," seryosong saad ko. "I hate seeing a down mad puppy."

 

Ngumuso naman siya. "Tigilan mo nga ako sa kaka-mad puppy mo na 'yan!"

 

"Okay, little maltese."

 

"May sangkaterbang hampas ka sa'kin kapag gumaling ka, bwiset!" 

 

I chuckled in my mind. Napaka-mapanakit ng tuta na 'to. 

 

"Now you're both awake. Perfect!" 

 

Napatingin kami kay ate Hyunie na kakapasok lang. Ang bilis niya namang bumili? 

 

"Here's some food if you guys are hungry." Saad niya at inilapag sa isang mini-table ang pagkaing binili niya. 

 

"Gutom ka?" Little maltese asked. 

 

I shook my head. "No."

 

Tumango naman siya. 

 

"Ate Hyunie, what time is it?" Tanong ko na agad namang sinagot ni ate. 

 

"Eleven forty-five in the evening."

 

"You should eat," I said, looking at little maltese. "I know that you're hungry."

 

Alam kong wala pa siyang kain simula kanina dahil hindi naman sila kumakain talaga sa cafeteria ng mga kaibigan nila kapag nando'n sila, well except sa pinaka-matangkad sa kanila na araw-araw kong nakikitang may nginunguya. 

 

Nakita ko namang inabot ni ate Hyunie sa kaniya 'yung pagkain. "Eat, Minjeong. A lot has happened today."

 

Minjeong softly smiled before thanking ate. 

 

Kumuha si ate Hyunie ng upuan at umupo sa kabilang side ng kama ko. Bali, Minjeong is on the left while ate is on the right. 

 

Ate cleared . Uh-oh, here comes the questions. 

 

"Speaking of happenings," seryoso niya akong tinignan. "What really happened, Jimin?"

I opened the door for her and then I followed her. 

 

I walked behind her, my pace gradually slowing and then suddenly speeding up as I held my head down.

 

I probably look stupid, but it's fine. 

 

I'm observing, listening intently to everyone whose in the hallway. 

 

"Uy, tumabi ka sa'kin mag-lakad!" Mad puppy whisper-shouted so I picked up my pace.

 

"'Yung grupo ni Alvarez at Salazar?"

 

"Oo, abangan niyo sila sa parking lot mamaya."

 

My ears perked up. Lumingon ako at mataman na tinignan 'yung dalawang lalaking nalagpasan namin. 

 

Salazar... 

 

I held mad puppy's wrist making her stop in her tracks. 

 

"Bakit?" She asked, confused. 

 

Mabilis akong nag-isip ng palusot. 

 

"I just remembered that I have something to do," I answered. "I can't accompany you to the cafeteria anymore."

 

Nice. What a great excuse.

 

"I'm sorry."

 

I was sure that she won't buy that excuse, but I guess I'm wrong because she smiled at me. 

 

"It's fine," saad niya, assuring me. "And, hindi ka naman required na samahan ako. If you have anything to do, gawin mo muna."

 

With that, I nodded and did what I have to do. 

 

Thank you for being so understanding, Minjeong. Now, let me prevent them from killing you and your friends.
