Baekhyun is mute. He wasn't sure why he was beaten up when he had never offended anyone because of it. Though, someone would always save him and keep him away from those dangers.

Chanyeol, a cold-hearted man, however, is the top 1 student of their school. His "friends" are merely just a company to him. Nothing more, nothing less (most likely they were complete idiots which Chanyeol would make him rethink how he befriended those people).

But like any other story, these two crossed paths like how destiny wanted them to do.
