They said Joohyun is a blessing from God, that God took his time creating Joohyun’s feature oh-so-perfectly that no one stands a chance to go as near as THE Bae Joohyun. I mean, who are we trying to fool? She has gorgeous eyes, top with that perfectly chiseled nose, cute smile, great body, just a perfect amount of fairness, very caring, very humble…

Who wouldn’t think that she’s a total all-rounder? A literal blessing from heaven. She too, thinks that she’s very lucky to be blessed with such a loving family and a great career, having members that she considered a family instead of mere friends. Yes, everything is a blessing, everything goes right,

 

 

Until Son Seungwan…

 

 

Ah… Son Seungwan…

 

 

Don’t get Joohyun wrong, Son Seungwan is an amazing girl (who is also her girlfriend). Also a total all-rounder like she is. Maybe more, she thought. The girl can cook, bake, sing high notes, carry a lot of things in her bag, and would even move a whole storm for you if she had to.

But there is just one thing about Seungwan…

She likes to annoy the hell out of Joohyun, with jokes, and sometimes in a very less fortunate situations.

But a situation like right now is very unlikely.

 

 

“Where’s the butter?”

 

 

Joohyun asks as she whips out the cake mixer from the cupboard, trying her best to plug the sockets in as it was far from her reach. It was the weekend and they’ve decided to bake a cake. More like, Joohyun wanted a carrot cake and Seungwan just gladly offered to bake her one. Or together, whichever works. Talk about being whipped

Today is not like any other days, somehow. Any other days would mean that Seungwan doing dumb things, or asking dumb things. Especially jokes. Joohyun had no idea when it started but Seungwan was always in the mood for jokes. Dad jokes to be specific. But to Joohyun, it all just sounds like a bad joke that gets in a way of everything.

At least not today. Thank god for that

 

 

“Oh, it’s here”

 

 

Seungwan grabbed hold of a block of butter. She was about to hand it to Joohyun but stopped in her tracks as she kept eyeing the butter. Joohyun turned around and cut her girlfriend out of trance

 

 

“Everything okay?”

“Yeah… But um, look at this”

 

 

Seungwan held the butter up and showed it to Joohyun

 

 

“Okay…?” Joohyun spoke

 

 

Seungwan stared at her girlfriend then slowly throwing the butter up lightly in the air before catching it back in her hands. Joohyun was still staring at her until Seungwan spoke

 

 

“Butterfly”

 

 

The hamster then cackles on her own, thinking that she just aced another joke but the rabbit was not amused.

She took it back. Today could be like any other day

“Why aren’t you laughing???? That was funny!”

“The funny thing would be me hitting you with this whisk if you don’t hand me the damn butter”

 

 

Seungwan rolls her eyes and handed the butter to Joohyun before giving her a peck on the cheek as a form of apology before walking away. Joohyun lets out a small smile at upon that cute little act but decided to not prolong it. Until…

 

 

“HYUN, HYUN. LOOK AT THIS”

“What now Seungwan”

 

 

Joohyun turns around and saw Seungwan holding a plastic cup. Seungwan lets out her famous toothy smile as she pours the remaining water from the cup on the counter top before slightly tapping it. Joohyun furrowed her eyebrows in confusion

 

 

“Tapwater”

“Seungwan get the out”

“Okay, okay! I won’t do it again!”

 

 

Seungwan giggled and slightly pushed Joohyun away from the mixer. Who was she kidding? Seungwan was the better baker out of the both of them, why is she even bothering to handle the mixer? Although she wanted to help bake so badly, she couldn’t help but to just stare at the back of the latter she loves for the whole years of being together. Seungwan may be annoying at times, yes. But it adds up more rainbows in her life. Literally and figuratively.

But sometimes…she just wanted something domestic, you know? What’s a girl got to do to get some peace around here?

Joohyun sighs, remembering all those times where she had to deal with Seungwan’s joke-mood swings. She got to admit, some were pretty hilarious but sometimes she did it at the wrong moment. God damn. There were a lot of moments where she felt like smacking the soul out of her girlfriend…

 

 

 

 

Joohyun and Seungwan were cuddling on the bed right after Joohyun got back from work. Work has been pretty draining for her the past few weeks and all she wanted to do was come home and be in her girlfriend’s arms and sleep the days away. But she missed Seungwan way too much, so now here they are, in comfortable silence as Joohyun tightened her arms around Seungwan’s waist and Seungwan tracing random circles on Joohyun’s shoulder

 

 

“Hyun…”

“Hm?”

“Can I ask you a question?”

“Sure baby”

 

 

Joohyun softly kissed her girlfriend’s neck

 

 

“But…what if you don’t like the question?”

“Why won’t I like it?” Joohyun looked up

“I don’t know…”

“Mmm, is it serious?

“Yes…”

“It’s not about any girls hitting on you right” Joohyun glared

“No, no”

“Mmm, fire away then”

 

 

Joohyun smiled softly and snuggled closer to Seungwan’s neck, inhaling the scent she loves the most

 

 

“Okay well…”
