                                           Where Wendy and Irene bonds

Maybe it’s hard for the vampire to admit it out loud, but she’s starting to enjoy her time with Wendy as time passes. Despite her constant complaints and silly quirks, Wendy always forgives her in the end and still brought more blood bags home for her anyway. She enjoys having Wendy around, Wendy takes care of her more than her own kind ever did and it makes her feel something she never felt before.

It’s weird, she thought. For a human to have this much impact and control over her. Back when Irene was still out and about before her own pack kicked her out, she never cared about anything. Other people’s feelings? To hell with that. Because all she needed was blood to survive, nothing else matters.

But Wendy, dear kind human Wendy changed her perspective. She couldn’t handle it if Wendy was mad at her. She couldn’t take it if Wendy didn’t talk to her. Funny how she kept wanting to fix herself to be better, for a goddamn human

“You’re going to be okay, right?”

Irene looked up, thoughts being cut off by none other than her human. She saw Wendy in her blue button up blouse shoving files in her bag looking slightly messy as she overslept this morning. It wasn’t even that messy though, to Irene she looks decent but to Wendy herself, with few hairs sticking out was not really an impression she wanted to show to her fellow coworkers or patients.

“Mmm, I guess. What time will you be back?” Irene asks

“Concern now, are you?” Wendy grins “Why, are you scared of being alone?”

Irene rolls her eyes

“I’m a ing vampire, Wendy. The house should be scared of me”

“Said the person who screamed when we watched The Conjuring the other night”

“It was unrealistic!”

Sure, but she screamed anyway. More like a shriek, maybe the whole neighbourhood heard her and some might even get the wrong idea because Irene screamed Wendy’s name not long after. Needless to say that Wendy was panicking and tries to get the vampire to shut the up or else people are going to think that they were doing some activities that should not be said out loud

“And you got scared anyway” Wendy shrugs

“It was your goddamn speaker, the background music was too loud. Anybody sane would get shocked”

“Then what do you mean by ‘unrealistic’?” Wendy raised a brow

“You know, it’s obviously fake. They did a bad job with the ghost. The movie was just filled with jump scares” Irene shrugs

“Then why did you scream and cling to me?”

Wendy grins at her, hell she was running late and here she is, still having all the time to tease the vampire

“Well I just—aren’t you late? Go to work!”

“You’re avoiding the question~”

“Shut up!!”

Wendy laughs as Irene pushed her to the door, still having way too much fun teasing the latter. A vampire who got scared over a movie? It’s like a laughing stock. Damn in you , Irene thought. She can’t believe that she actually showed her weakness in front of the freaking human. What a disgrace to her community

“Seriously”

Irene shook her head, heaving out a sigh after the whole movie thing. She was about to walk to the living room to take a shower when she noticed a familiar lunch box sitting on top of the countertop. When she walked over, she realized that it belonged to Wendy, who always brought packed lunch to work just because she was sick of hospital food. Irene frowns, worried that Wendy won’t get to eat her packed lunch just because she pushed her out of the house, prompting for her to forget put it in her bag.

She decided she should bring the lunchbox to Wendy workplace. Yes, that. That is a good idea. She’s going to do a good deed for once, for Wendy

“Bring this to her, and tell her have a good day at work. Yes. I should do that”

But damn, she couldn’t do that

When she was about to walk back to her room to change her clothes, she noticed that it was super ing bright outside. And what’s most vampire known for?

Hating the goddamn sunlight

Well, she can go out. She just decided not to most of the time because going on when it’s dark is better than being under the sun. it’s not like she’s going to die anyway, damn myths about vampires can go to hell. Maybe’s she’ll just burn here and there, not much, not quite, just enough to feel a little pain. Like a pan seared chicken; burnt, but not enough for it to not be edible. Just enough, just right

But to endure that pain? Not quite right

“Stupid ing sun”

She sat on the couch, pondering what she should do in order for Wendy to get her lunchbox. She needs to deliver this. Wendy always made sure she ate—or drink (?)—her food even when the latter was pissed at her. So she’s going to do the same. Wendy works hard, but Irene works harder…to deliver

“Now how can I avoid the sun…”

Her forgot that she could teleport.

Remember when she visited Wendy during her surgeries? Yeah, some vampire she is. Do you even call it teleport? Whatever it was, it brought her here, to the hospital, where Wendy is.

Out of all places she could be in from the house, she ended up in a bathroom on top of a toilet seat

“ing teleportation”

Irene cursed and huffed. Maybe her powers aren’t that great after all, she could blame Wendy for that for adapting way too much to the human lifestyle.

She fixed herself and walked out of the bathroom and saw few patients, nurses and doctors passing by; but no Wendy. She hummed, letting her feet drag her hopefully leading somewhere that could get her to the doctor. It didn’t take her long though, she now finds herself standing few meters away from the reception, where she finally saw her fellow housemate. She was looking all cool in her white coat and stethoscope hanging around her neck, mmm very professional.

“Alright, Irene. You can do this. Just go to her”

She was about to take a step forward when she saw a lady approaching Wendy, smiling at her and laughing over some dumb thing Wendy said. Irene also noticed that the bi—woman, was getting a little bit touchy and it kind of irritates her for some reason. She didn’t understand this feeling, but oh she was sure as hell know that there’s a freaking volcano in her about to erupt. What’s worse is that Wendy enjoys talking to this bi—woman????

“Who the fu—“

Irene frowns, she grips onto the lunchbox out of annoyance as she kept staring at the two. Oh she was pissed alright. So pissed that her fangs came out.

And she panicked

“! !”

Irene turns around, not wanting to attract any attention. Goddamn, out of all times?!

She tried calming herself down, doing breathing exercises as if she’s a woman in labor. But damn that didn’t work. She tries to the fangs back in, inhaling deeply from time to time that it almost looked like she was sobbing

“Get a grip, you !”

She cursed herself. Yes, inhale…like yoga, like meditation, inhale…

“Irene?”

Crap

She turns around and saw Wendy’s questioning look

“W-Wendy!”

“What are you doing here?”

“I…uh…”

She inhaled again and—oh, the fangs are gone. Right, that’s good. That’s good.

She composed herself before carefully lifting the lunchbox up

“Brought you your lunchbox” Irene cleared “You forgot”

“Oh yeah! I wanted to tell you but I figured it would be a hassle since you don’t like the—wait, are you here to bribe me for more blood bags???”

Wendy said in a low whisper so the others wouldn’t hear. Irene gasped, a little offended although it would be nice to have more of that.

“What?! No!” she defended

“Then how did you get out with…the sunlight?”

“Teleport…”

Irene mumbled as looked away, she knew Wendy was worried about the risk of doing that, in public places at that. But she shrugged that off, shoving the lunchbox to the doctor before she could retort

“Here, you can have your lunch now”

“Ah, I was about to have lunch with my colleague…” Wendy rubs her nape

The air suddenly grew cold again

“The girl?” Irene said, directing her gaze to the lady earlier

“Yeah! Her name is Sejeong. She’s nice” Wendy smiled

“But you already have your lunchbox” Irene scowled

“Well, it’s good to have company—“

“Great! I’ll keep you company”

Irene pulled her away, far away from that Sejeong girl and she doesn’t know why. But for sure she doesn’t that that bi—WOMAN, getting near her Wendy.

“Wait, Irene—“

The whole thing that happened during lunch was weird for Wendy. The fact that Irene teleported to the hospital even though it was basically her bed time just to send her the forgotten lunchbox makes Wendy feel a little giddy. But still, weird

So now here she is in front of her front door, rummaging through her bags trying to look for her keys. When she finally managed to open the door, she was greeted with a dark place.

“Irene?”

Wendy stepped in, it was way too dark and she couldn’t find Irene anywhere. The only light that guided her through was the light from the balcony, which didn’t help as much. She strutted more, and realized that there were candles placed on the floor of their living room

“Is that a prayer circle?!?!”

She went towards it and noticed some craps that’s she couldn’t figure out what. The only thing she could familiarize was a single photo placed in the middle of the circle

Is that…

Is that Sejeong’s photo?!

WHY WOULD SHE HAVE SEJEONG’S PHOTO

“IRENE!!!!!!!!”

Thank god the photo was not meant to harm Sejeong in any ways possible

At least that’s what Irene said

When Irene walked out of her bedroom with some kind of a doll that looks almost like a voodoo doll, Wendy wanted to strangle her for doing weird things in her apartment again. As if the stacks of blood bags weren’t already weird enough. But Irene explained to her that she was just about to do some traditional vampire crap prayers—do they even pray—to wish her fellow colleague good health

Seriously is she a vampire or a witch?

“You okay?”

Wendy asks Irene who was staring into space. Irene blinks away from her thoughts

“Huh? Oh yeah. Go shower, you smell bad”

Irene tries to joke, when she turns around, she saw Wendy was still sprawling on the couch typing away with her phone, giggling from time to time

“Wendy?” She calls
