Where Wendy meets a vampire…friend

Wendy had never imagined that having a vampire…she wanted to say, stranger? Acquaintance? Friend? Well whatever Irene is to her, she never would have expected that it would be this complicated. Handling a vampire was much worse than handling an infant. Why? Because you can just feed an infant regular food; just dunk anything edible in and they’re going to swallow it all off. While a vampire, well, we know what they’re feeding off of.

Ever since Irene came into the picture, more like unexpectedly about 3 months ago, everything in Wendy’s life shifted 180 degree. You would have expected that the vampire be accustomed to the human’s living lifestyle, but no. It was the other way around. Wendy somehow had to get used to Irene’s lifestyle instead even though Irene was living under her roof. And it pissed Wendy off sometimes because Irene can be a little bit stubborn.

Meeting the very starved blood-deprived vampire terrified Wendy at first. Irene came to her out of nowhere, simply showing up in Wendy’s apartment trying to her blood. Luckily Wendy managed to negotiate with Irene about letting her live with her and provide blood for the latter if the latter were to not the living out of her. Wendy, being a doctor, illegally smuggled out few blood bags from the hospital she works at just to save her life—and Irene’s—to last her at least a month or so. Depending on Irene’s mood.

So now here they are, arguing about blood types and Irene being Irene, demands for something bigger and better as Wendy brought home three more blood bags for her

“O positive???? Really????”

Irene stared at the doctor who slumped on the couch after such a long day. And she really has no time to argue with the jobless vampire who only knows how to complain.

“Ugh go away Irene, I’m tired”

Wendy shooed her, with one arm covering her eyes as she slowly lays her tired body on the couch

“O Positive and a Pisces????? Seriously??” Irene stared at the blood bag

“What’s wrong with a Pisces?”

Wendy opens her eyes, looking at the pretty vampire. She felt wronged because she’s a Pisces and being a fish like her is very peaceful. But Irene made it sound like being a Pisces was such a bad thing

“I had a beef with a Pisces before”

Irene frowned and plops herself onto the single couch across Wendy

“You and Pisces…had beef together?” Wendy sat up

“Yeah” Irene sighs

“Uh…was it nice?”

Irene frowns at her again

“It’s a beef, Wendy”

“I’m guessing it was good?”

“How can a beef be good??”

This time it was Wendy who frowns

“I don’t know, because it’s beef? Aren’t beef supposed to taste nice?”

Irene gaped at her

“What? No, we had a huge—oh god you meant the actual beef like, the meat?”

“Isn’t that what we’re talking about?” Wendy stared

“Wendy, no”

Irene sighed, almost breaking into a tiny laugh at how slow Wendy is sometimes. She would have expected that the doctor would’ve caught up on slangs pretty easily. But she thought wrong

“Beef as in, we had disagreements. Or something like that”

“Why the would you call disagreement a beef?” Wendy’s eyebrows furrowed

“How the am I supposed to know??”

Irene clapped back. Damn, dealing with humans aren’t as easy as she thought it would be

“Anyways” Wendy continued “Not all Pisces are the same. Maybe you’ve just been dealing with the wrong kind”

“What makes you think so?” Irene asks

“I just know so”

Wendy shrugs and that got a scoff out of Irene

“Ugh, Pisces are just…emotional. They’re such a crybaby most of the time. Bet you their blood are just going to taste like sorrow and dejection”

Wendy gasped at her, feeling very offended over Irene’s statement as if Irene pointed out that fishes like Wendy are depressed most of the time. Which was partially untrue; though her line of work is tiring and sometimes…well…depressing on certain occasions, her life outside of work was peaceful; filled with unicorns and rainbows—not really since she has to deal with a goddamn vampire now—and very, very un-sorrowful!

“WELL DON’T DRINK IT THEN IF YOU’RE JUST GOING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT. GO FIND BLOOD SOMEWHERE ELSE”

Wendy exclaimed and stood up, stomping angrily towards her bedroom. Stupid Irene with her stupid fangs and stupid hunger. Irene was startled at the sudden outburst as she stared worriedly at Wendy who now had entered her bedroom

“Wait, Wendy—“

And Wendy slammed the door close before Irene could even retort back. Irene wondered why Wendy was mad all of a sudden because to her, she didn’t even said anything wrong. That was until she saw Wendy’s purse lying on the coffee table. She opens it and noticed the human’s ID card, and then she realized Wendy’s birthdate

Damn, she is a Pisces? .

Irene panicked because if Wendy was mad, means that she won’t get her supply of blood anytime in the future. She knew she’s being ridiculous at times but she couldn’t help it. Her emotions were just all over the place, not when her own pack kicked her out leaving her to fend on her own, so she let it out onto the person she’s close to at the moment; Wendy.

She strutted to Wendy’s door, scared of what’s about to come next as she softly knocks on the hardwood

“Wendy…”

“Go away, I’m busy”

Irene winced at the cold reply although it sounded faint. But she’s Irene, she’s not a quitter

“Wendy, please…” she knocks again

“Irene just please, get out of my sight”

Irene pouts, guilt now running through her non-existent veins because upsetting the human who helped her these past 3 months was the last thing she wanted to do. She sighs and marched towards the couch again before plopping onto it, burying her face in one of the pillows as she lets out a muffled groan.

Wendy on the other hand was sulking on her bed, arms crossed as she glares at the door. The innocent door that separated her from the idiot vampire. She muttered something along; she’s probably so old that even my dead grandmother looks young and pretty face but with a dumb attitude, anything just literally anything negative about Irene just to make herself feel better. She was just so tired from work and now she’s in her room sulking about something so ridiculous. Wendy didn’t even realized that her eyes were watery until she felt wet tear on her cheek

I AM DEFINITELY NOT A CRY BABY WHY AM I SO AFFECTED??
