Where Wendy questions life and Irene has no time for it

Get married they said. It will be fun, they said

Whoever said that should really go themselves.

Irene was finally relieved that tomorrow is her day off, that means she could just hibernate and not care about what’s going on in the outside world because what she really need is a good rest after all the work she had done throughout the week. She plopped onto the bed right next to Wendy who patiently waited for her. The room was already dark with only a single bedside lamp on to guide Irene to their bed. She saw Wendy was staring at the ceilings, probably thinking about something that Irene really does not want to know. At least not know. Not when she’s dead tired like this.

Irene finally lay on the bed, turning the lamp off and snuggled closer to her wife giving the latter a peck on the cheek

“Good night, love”

She was dead tired

Irene lay her head on the pillow, her arm hugging Wendy by the waist as she lets out a contented sigh. Tomorrow is going to be a good day. Right now, she just wants to sleep

But of course, Wendy never made Irene’s life that easy

“Babe” Wendy calls

“Hmm”

Wendy was still staring at the ceilings. God knows what goes on in her mind again this time. Irene loves her wife like a ton, but when she’s dead tired, she might as well strangle Wendy and get this over with

“I have a question—“

“Ask me tomorrow” Irene said immediately

“No, I might forget”

“Then write it on a paper or something. Let me sleep, Wen”

But like Irene, what Wendy wants, Wendy gets. And if Wendy has a question, Irene has to deal with it or else her little hamster cheeks and mouth won’t stop bothering her.

“No, no, no… just a few questions please”

“No”

Irene grumbles and hugs Wendy tighter, squinting her eyes hard to help her sleep faster so she doesn’t have to deal with her wife’s ridiculous questions. This happened last month, when Wendy woke Irene up from a nap asking her “If frozen water is called ice, would melted ice be called water?” And boy, Irene was not amused

“What are your thoughts on aliens?” Wendy asks anyway, to hell with her wife’s sleep, she needs her answers or she won’t be at peace

“Go to sleep, Wendy” Irene grumbles again

“No, no, listen… like we have this… perception about aliens right—“

“No”

“And we tend to judge them—“

“Wendy I swear to god”

Irene inhales deeply before separating herself from Wendy’s embrace, looking up to glare at her idiotic piece of hamster who just kept blinking innocently as if keeping Irene up was such a normal thing to do
