Where parents Wendy and Irene attended little Yerim’s school play

Again.

 

 

“MOOOOMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY”

 

 

Yerim barged into the house and ran straight to the living room where her parents were resting. The both of them didn’t pick up their daughter today mainly because they had a fried chicken party after class in celebration of Sooyoung’s birthday so Seulgi’s parents insisted to drop Yerim at their house after the party ends.

 

 

So now here she is

 

 

With another piece of paper in her little hands

 

 

“Hello baby!”

 

 

Wendy picked up her daughter with a big smile on her face, with her wife nuzzling beside her, watching the view in awe. Irene is thankful of time well spent like this, ever since work got the best of them, family time decreases into meals together and bed time stories but nevertheless, a time well spent as well. Irene gave her daughter a peck on the cheek

 

 

“Whatchu’ got there Yerim?” Irene smiled

“Mama! I got another part in our school play!”

 

 

Both of the parents froze in their seats. Oh god, the memories of their daughter being baby Jesus haunts them back and it was a very…an interesting memory?

 

Actually no, not really. It was weird. Their daughter was baby Jesus for god sake. In The Hare and The Tortoise play.

“O-oh! That’s good baby! We’re so proud of you!!” Wendy smiled awkwardly

“Realy?!?!” Yerim said

“Yes baby, we’re so proud of you”

 

 

Irene smiled as well, pinching Yerim’s chubby cheeks as her daughter lets out a toothy smile, pride bursting in her chest for making her parents proud. Seeing her mothers’ smile really brings her joy that nobody can explain

 

 

“Thank you!!”

 

 

Yerim have them a tight hug only to receive a chuckle in return. But oh, like chuckles…they aren’t meant to last that long

 

 

“So, Yerim…” Irene started

“Yesh?”

“W-what’s your role this time baby?”

 

 

Yerim’s face light up and her parents could only stare at her nervously. Yerim lifts up her paper again

 

 

“A baby donkey!!!”

 

 

Yerim wiggled in her mommy Wendy’s embrace, staring happily at her paper that she could barely even read. Wendy slowly leaned towards her wife but her eyes focused on their daughter

 

 

“That…doesn’t seem so bad…right?” Wendy whispered

“Yeah… I guess, nothing can go wrong with a baby donkey?” Irene whispered back

“Right… but we’ll see”

 

 

Irene leaned back and patted their daughter’s head, not forgetting to give her another kiss on her hair. Their daughter might be a troublemaker, and a little bit questionable, but at least she’s theirs.

 

And that’s all that matters

 

 

“Anyways honey,” Irene started “Is Seulgi and Sooyoung in too?”

“Yeah!”

“What are their roles this time?” Wendy asks

“Seulgi unnie is a floor and Sooyoung unnie is a star!”

 

 

Wendy and Irene eyed their questionable daughter

 

 

“U mean floor like…ground? Like, the grass?” Irene said

“Maybe” Yerim shrugs

“Yerim, what’s the play going to be this time?” Wendy spoke

 

 

Yerim hums while tapping her chin with her little fingers

 

 

“I’m not sure… Miss Jung said it’s about some house”

“House?”

 

 

This time it was Irene who leaned to her wife with an unreadable expression, whispering as low as they can to not let the new found Donkey hear

 

 

“Wen, are you sure about this?”

“Well, like you said… nothing goes wrong with a donkey right?”

 

 

Irene inhales deeply and nods in return

 

 

“Can you come to the practice again? Like last time?” Yerim turns and blinks her eyes at her mothers

“Of course baby, anything for you”

 

 

Wendy and Irene smiled, pecking their daughter’s chubby cheeks

 

 

 

 

“Ah, the Son family! Are you here to see Yerim?”

“Yes….” Both parents answered

 

 

Miss Jung chuckled and marched towards them with a clipboard in hand. The teacher could sense the parents’ discomfort but not really in a bad way. She is very aware of Yerim’s behavior since she is rather her teacher after all. Not that Yerim was a bad kid, she’s just very…different. In a good way

 

 

“I’m guessing you guys are questioning her role again?” the teacher smiled

“Yesssss Miss Jung. We were also wondering what’s the play about this time?” Irene stared

 

 

The teacher gave them an apologetic smile as she lets out a sigh

“Oh god” Irene pinches the bridge of her nose

“And what does a donkey got to do with this story???” Wendy asks this time

“I’m so sorry Mrs. Son. You know kids, especially Yerim. It’s really, really hard to say no to her choice of character” Miss Jung smiles apologetically

As Irene said that, they heard another loud cry from the other side of the hall. As the three turned, there they saw their daughter, again, laughing at crying Seulgi. Seulgi was seen to shake her head furiously and
