As I move on from Krystal, changing everything including my contact number, I message and inform every person who I think I still want communication with even if we dont talk a lot. Scrolling through my phone I saw one name in particular... Solar. We havent talk a lot, last time I did was when Krystal and I were planning to go to Busan. She said that she can accomodate and tour us but we never really saw each other. So I message her again and inform her of my new number, and suprisingly after 7 years she didnt even changed hers.

S: Hi! Long time no talk!

B: Hi Solar! How are you?

S: Well my life took a 360 degree turn, how about you?

B: Same

I was surprised how her life would turn around 'is she like gay too?' I ask myself. 

Flashback

I first met Solar at a convention in Seoul, we are in a same club district but she is from Busan and im from Daegu. We havent had any contact from the event, until we are introduced by my friend Irene who is the head of our district. 

I: Solar, i'd like you to meet Byul, she's a new member of our club. Byul this is Solar, she is the president of Busan club

S: Hello, nice to meet you

B: Nice to meet you too Solar

Solar and I never had the chance to talk after that, when we took our group picture she went ahead with her friends after. I see Solar as a very bubbly person, always smiling and it seems like she's smart. I never forgot her after that.

After 6 months, we met again in an event within our district, Busan is the host thats why Solar is one of the committees in charge of the event. It was our first night and I saw her hanging out with her members outside, so I went there to say hello

S: Hi! We meet again

B: Yes I'm Byul just in case you forgot

S: How can I forget, you're one of the few people within our district that I got to know other than my members

B: Yes, I didnt forget you too, in fact I always see you because of our group picture, you were seating in front of me

S: Oh really! I didnt notice, but I'm glad that we see each other again

B: Me too

That night we hang out and we talked a lot about ourselves, we spent the whole night together just knowing each other. I really like Solar, she can be a very good friend to keep. I think I'm starting to have a crush on her as the night progressed, she's very talkative  and we jump from topic to topic til we have to separate because its already midnight.

S: its getting late Byul 

B: I know I'm not sleepy yet, I'm enjoying our talk

S: You know, we dont have to sleep, its not like we are bunch of teenagers you know

B: Are you sure?

S: Yeah we can go to my room and lets continue there

B: Okay! Lets go!

Her hotel building is far from mine so I keep her company, when we arrived we sat down in her bed and talked more till 3 am

B: I'm sleepy now Solar, we have to wake up at 6 to prepare for the convention

S: Sleep here, we can share the bed

B: Okay good night Solar

S: Good night Byul

Solar became busy during the convention that we hardly had time to chat. I kinda miss her, all through the day I keep looking out for her, where she goes, what she did and thinking about her during the talks made me awake despite lack of sleep. When the day ended, we only have an hour to check out and go back home, so I went and look for Solar.

I saw her walking by the restaurant so I called her

S: hey Byul, i'm so glad your here, I've been looking for you

B: Im looking for you too, I just want to ask for your number, you know to keep in touch

S: Same 

We exchange numbers and said our farewells. Im so happy that at least we have contact and I'm planning to meet her as soon as possible. 

As I'm having a break from work I planned to go to Busan for the Song Festival. I wanted to watch it for the experience and since its where Solar is, I decided to contact her.

B: Hey I'm gonna be in Busan for the festival 

S: Really! can we meet? I will show you around!

B: Yes I was planning to go early since the festival will be in the evening, we can spend time before that

S: Cool! I'll see you then

I went to Busan by train and Im so excited meeting her again. I plan for us to have some lunch and then we'll go from there

B: Where do you want to eat

S: Anywhere is fine, how are you?

We talk while walking and looking for some restaurant, we found a secluded place and offers a wide variety of korean and japanese dishes

B: What do you like? Its on me 

S: Oh no, we can share, its my place so its very awkward for me if you do that

B: Oh ok, but when you come to Daegu, you have to let me treat you ok? 

S: Fine

We laughed a lot while waiting for our food, she ordered a sushi boat and I ordered my usual oyakudon. We ordered some tteokbokki and kimchi jjigae.

B: I never thought your a sushi person

S: Well I was an ambassador for youth last year and I was in a boat for 3 months, I have a lot of japanese friends so they introduce me to sushi and thats when it started

B: Wait! You're an ambassador? 

S: Yes, its for youth, you know cultural exchange

B: Wow! you're amazing

S: Oh stop it, you're making me blush

We talked more while eating, we just kept ordering for food so we wont have to go anywhere and spend time with each other.

S: So by the way Im having my operation in two months

B: Operation? Why?

S: I have a hole in my heart, we need to close that if I want to live longer

B: Gosh! Isnt that serious?

S: It will get serious if I dont do it, lately I'm having a lot of fatigues and my parents are worried

B: Are you ok now?

S: Yes, if I dont do a lot of activity I'm fine, but lately I cant do much, I get sick often so we decided to do it

B: I'm gonna visit you then 

I smiled at her, but I'm worried. Not a lot of people I know of has this kind of sickness. But she looks fine to me, so I guess its not that serious to the point we have to panic. We said our goodbyes when I have to go to the festival and she has to meet her other friends. When I arrived home, I wash up and get ready for bed. Since I get a little hung up about Solar, I started to look for her name on the internet.

'What is her real name again?' I was thinking and then I remember she mentioned it once during our conversation and when I looked at her ID during the convention that her name is Kim Yongsun, but I like her nickname Solar, it fits her personality, so i look it up. Kim Yongsun is one of the outstanding students of the country and in Busan. She managed to be one of the 5 students to represent Korea in a Youth exchange of South East Asian Nations and the list goes on. She didnt become a Laude because of the trip but if only grades are considered and not including attendance might as well she will be one. 'Wow what an incredible person' i thought, she is everything a model person can be, how lucky am I to meet someone like her.

After two months, Solar message me that her operation will take place and she gave me the date because I said I'm going to visit her. I booked a train and I plan to go before lunch. Before I go to the hospital I passed by the flower shop

FS: Welcome! what can I do for you

B: What flowers do you usually recommend for someone to get better?

FS: Why not give these yellow daisies

B: yeah I like it! it looks lively

FS: Should I wrap it for you?

B: Yes please

I paid for the flowers, holding them tightly and smiling at myself, I hope Solar will like it. I arrived at the hospital and went to her room. There I saw Solar talking to her mom, she doesnt look like she had a hard time so I'm glad that she's ok.

B: Solar! how are you? Here I brought you flowers

S: Wow daisies! I love it! its so pretty

The smile on her face brings

me joy, I'm glad that she liked it

B: So what happened, are you alright?

S: Well the operation didnt went well, they cancelled it, it failed

B: What! How?

S: They said my veins are thin and crisscross, they had a hard time going through my heart

B: Where did they start

S: Here at my upper thigh

B: Ok im confused why would they do that if the hole is in your heart? Cant they go straight to that?

S: I dont know, I'm confused too

B: So are you getting another operation for that?

S: I hope so, my cardiologist will find a way without going through what happened yesterday

B: Ok at least your still ok, so what happened to you since we last saw each other?

We talked a lot again about her studies, she's suppose to graduate college next year. Hopefully with her situation she could, she doesnt worry much because she got high grades and a lot of exemptions.

S: So I met a guy

B: Really?

I was conflicted at that time, I didnt know what to feel, I'm happy that she already met a person but I'm somehow sad. I dont know about this feeling but I put it aside because I dont even know what will happen to Solar if this condition of hers will not go well first.

S: Yes, he's name is Eric, he's a law student

B: Wow! is he cute?

S: Yeah, he's handsome actually

B: So are you together together?

S: Uhm not yet, I dont know, in my situation its not my priority right now

B: So, couldnt you love someone while having all of this on your plate? Isnt that much better?

S: Well now that you said, I never thought of it like that

Solar kept talking about Eric, how they met, what they did during the time that we didnt see each other. The silly things that Eric does for her, so we kept laughing.

S: Byul! Stop making me laugh

B: Hahaha! Why? its funny

S: My stitches will open if you continue doing that! 

B: What? this?

I keep imitating a hamster face and Solar kept laughing and laughing. But I finally stop because she winces a lot when she laughs so I said that I should go.

S: Do you really have to go?

B: Of course, I cant stay here, your wound will not heal if  i keep making you laugh

S: Hahaha! yeah, i cant risk that

B: Is Eric coming here?

S: Yes, he says he will, why dont you wait for him

B: No its ok, I dont want to keep you talking to me, you should rest

S: Take care going back to Daegu

B: I will, message me if you can.

I went home that night and thought a lot about Solar. After that visit, I never saw and hear from her again.
