Wheein and I went back to Daegu and I immediately packed for Busan, I was worried at Yongsun since she just told her parents about us, she also told me that I should go there at once. My mind was working overtime but I still focus myself on driving. What would they say? Are they going to split us apart? Would I live with that? There are so many questions I want answers right away. Is this the end? 

I arrived at their house at around 7 pm, I saw Yongsun waiting for me at the front porch like she always does when I'm coming home. I don't know what to make of that expression of hers. Is she sad? relieved? confused? With all these questions, I wouldn't dare get out of my car. She noticed my hesitation that she walked up to me.

"Hey," she said softly

"Are you ok?" I asked immediately

"I'm fine, why don't you get out of the car and go inside?" I nodded turning off the engine and get out, I retrieve my things and walk inside the house

The whole family is in the living room watching TV when I walked in the house. Mr. and Mrs. Kim was looking at me, I can't tell what they're thinking, I went inside and bowed my head. 

"Byul sit down," Mrs. Kim said, all of them are looking at me like I'm some kind of entertainment, it made me feel so small, all I did is love Yongsun

"Yongsun told us that you are her girlfriend, is that true?" Mrs. Kim's question is emotionless, I can't tell what they're feeling and it made me want to hurl from nervousness

"Y-yes" I can hear everyone's breath as if they're preventing themselves from breathing for so long

"How long?" Mr. Kim asked me, which made me even more nervous

"F-five years ago, actually during my birthday when she went to Daegu" I answered truthfully since there is no point in lying, we've done that for so long

"So the two of you have been dating for five years and no one dared to tell us? Byul, your old enough to be responsible with this kind of thing, I wouldn't have expected Yongsun to do that because of what she's been through but I am disappointed that you didn't bother telling us" Mrs. Kim was spitting fire 

"I-I'm sorry but Yongsun told me that she's the one who's gonna tell you when she's ready" I reasoned 

'Wait a minute... what are we talking about' I was engrossed in answering their question that I didn't bother looking up and been staring at the floor this whole time. Aren't they supposed to be throwing me out by now? So I looked up and saw Yongsun, Ravi, and Yonghee smiling as if they are gonna laugh at any moment. I look at Mr. Kim and he was watching the TV then I looked at Mrs. Kim she's frowning but not angry, I was getting confused by the situation. 

"What is happening?" I asked the three kids who are laughing now, Yongsun was on the floor, Ravi and Yonghee were holding their tummies since they can't breathe anymore. Mrs. Kim stands up and gave me a tight hug, I was so confused that I just hugged her back.

"Welcome to the family again," Mrs. Kim said while she's holding me by the shoulders, smiling like its a normal thing

"Arent we having dinner yet? I'm starving!" Mr. Kim said from the couch

"Come on, let's eat, dinner's ready" Mrs. Kim declared, the younger kids and Mr. Kim stood up and went to the kitchen, Mr. Kim tap me on my shoulder before he continued walking, all that was left in the living room is me and Yongsun

"Sorry, I had to act, my mom is angry earlier that she wanted to scold you for lying to them" I was still in shock 

"Are they ok about the two of us?" 

"Well actually they can feel that there is something going on between us, they aren't that dumb as what they say and they weren't born yesterday, so basically they knew" I was relieved at that bit of information

"Ravi was angry about Kisum because he likes you and he already feels like you're his official sister" well I have to give something for Ravi after this, I smiled at Yongsun

"Come on, dinner is waiting," she said and went to the dining table hand in hand

I was finishing up the decoration at my new house, it was kind of big since I like having a backyard to relax and have a party too when I have free time. Yonghee was helping me with the setup while Ravi and Sunmi are hanging lights on the high fence. Mrs. Kim was preparing the food at the kitchen while Mr. Kim is accompanying his wife and helping her with simple stuff, Yongsun hasn't come back from school yet, so we are all busy with everything. 

I went upstairs after we finished and took a bath, I picked up the clothes that I bought from Seoul in one of my meetings and started dressing. It was my birthday after all and the whole family helped me prepare for the party, I looked for something under the bedside table and put it in my pocket, as I was going out the doorbell ring.

"Happy Birthday!!!!" Wheein and Hwasa is standing in front of me, the gift in hand and dancing wildly

"Yah! You surprised me!" I was laughing at their antics and ushered them inside before the neighbors start complaining about their shouts that you thought ten people arrived. 

"Unnie you're getting old," says Wheein, Hwasa was eyeing the house in awe

"Wow, your house is beautiful and big," she said while checking out the furniture

"It only has three bedrooms upstairs and usual living room and kitchen, it's not much, it's just the high ceiling that made it look airy" I explained

"It's cool that you manage to build the house in under a year, we can definitely hang out in Busan more often, don't have to go to a hotel now" Wheein chirped 

"Is the transferring of the main branch of your business going smoothly?" Hwasa asked

"Yes its almost done, I was renting out the old building for additional income" Hwasa is satisfied with the turn of my business ventures

"What about the house in Daegu?" Wheein asks

"What about it?"

"Aren't you going to sell it?" she asks curiously

"Nah! I don't want to remove myself from Daegu, I'll still visit there depending on the days" it's hard to leave Daegu behind, besides Wheein and Hwasa are there, they are the only friends I have that I'm glad to keep forever.

We went to the backyard where the tables are set, its just a simple birthday party that I want for all of us, just my close friends, Yongsun and her family. Mr. Kim is starting to grill the steaks that we bought earlier, I already opened a bottle of champagne so that we could start something before dinner. Yongsun was looking at us while we are having our little chats from the backdoor.

"Yong! You're here!" I went up to her and gave her a peck on the lips

"Starting without me huh!" I chuckled

"Its just drinks and I think you should go and wash up so that we can have our dinner," I said pushing her slightly inside

"Okay, see you later" she gave me a soft kiss before leaving, 'hmmm, I could get used to this.'

We had a wonderful dinner, everyone was having a good time, Yongsun surprised me with a cake she brought before going home and hid it in the fridge before she greeted me. Wheein and Hwasa were laughing at Ravi's jokes, Mr. and Mrs. Kim is having a conversation with Yonghee and Sunmi. I felt a surge of happiness inside me looking at the important people in my life, everything is going smoothly with the business, moving into a new house and being with Yongsun. 

I looked at Yongsun beside me, she was also looking at me with a sweet smile on her face, I held her hand and I brought it to my lips, she was flustered at my gesture, her face has a slight tinge of pink on it

"Yong, thank you for coming back to my life" she was surprised at my sudden confession

"Awww why are you suddenly emotional?" I caress her hand between mine

"Seeing you happy with our family and friends, I couldn't ask for more" I can't help myself to hold back anymore 

"It's like the universe is telling me that the decisions I made for the past year are in the right direction" Yongsun is looking at me with so much love in her eyes, so I reached something in my pocket, Yongsun's eyes were wide open both her hands covering from the shock, I went down on one knee and opened the small box that I had with me since one and a half year ago while looking at those weeping eyes.

"Yong, remember when we said to ourselves that its like destiny when we saw each other again?" she nods in agreement "And all of this" I gestured to the heavens "is part of a great plan for the both of us, how easy and smooth it was for me to be near you. The way it made me happy to hold you every day and night but it would make me the happiest if you could be my wife. Yong, will you marry me?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" she said nodding and crying, I was so elated that I hugged her tightly and spin her around while both of us are laughing loudly. Everyone was clapping and crying for us and then we heard a loud clink of the glass

"Well let us give the two lovebirds a toast," Mr. Kim said holding up the champagne glass

"It may sound cliche but we hoped that you live happy forever and ever, Congratulations!"

"Congratulations!" everyone shouted, I looked at Yongsun and gave her a long passionate kiss and then whispered

"This is the best birthday gift ever!".
