Secret Admirer
Tell Nat about yourself. I want to know.
"Hey, what does he mean by this?" I laughed reading the note.
Nat and I were seated in the cafeteria at school, eating our lunch. He just gave me my rose for the day which is, honestly, my breakaway from reality.
"Well, he says you haven't been tweeting lately, so he doesn't know what's been happening in your life lately. And since I regularly meet you, he thinks that maybe that could get you to talk to me about your life, so he knows how you've been doing," Nat shrugged.
I raised my eyebrow, "So you'll tell him everything I tell you?"
"I can keep a few secrets from him, probably," he laughed. "And besides, you need a breather."
"Oh, and you don't? Aren't you stressed from school, too?" I laughed.
"I'm probably more stressed about that guy," he motioned toward the rose, "than any freaking school work I may have. He bothers me everyday, honsetly," he laughed.
"Well, what does he want to know about me then?"
"I heard a Youngbae name, from before?" Nat said. "I forgot who mentioned it."
"Ahh, Youngbae? He wants to know about him?" I thought about it for a bit, "What about Youngbae oppa does he want to know?"
"Well, why don't you tell me about how you met him, for starters?" Nat smiled reassuringly.
"Well..." and then I launched about the entire story, from the fake secret admirer I had when it was really Gab and Josh and the others, to that 'Kwaenchanah' DM I got from him, to talking a lot, until I finally met him because of the work that Ms. Park gave me. I also told him all about what happened in that past month. And well, everything about me and Youngbae. I know that I miss him, and I miss talking to him, but I never really knew that I missed him this much until now that I'm talking to Nat about him.
"You seem pretty attached to him," he commented after silently listening to my entire story. We're lucky that our class doesn't start for another hour.
"Too attached, I think," I smiled, remembering how I cried in front of him because I didn't want him to go. "When they left, I didn't know how to function for a few days. It was like I've been removed from my comfort zone all of a sudden."
"Do you still wear the necklace?"
I smiled and showed him the necklace clasped around my neck, "I only take it off when I take a bath, otherwise, it's always here."
"You miss him that much?"
"More than I thought I did," I laughed a bit. "I just really wanna talk to him again."
"Then I guess he makes you confused, doesn't he? This guy," he motioned toward the rose.
"A bit," I laughed. "But he's really nice, to spend this much time and money for me, even though it's you who I talk to."
"And I saw you with some guy just last Satruday," Nat raised his eyebrow at me. "You two were at the library."
"You were there?! Why didn't you say hi???"
"I thought I was intruding," he laughed.
"No, you wouldn't have! We were doing our project for history, he's my partner."
"Did you choose him, or the other way around?"
"He did," I laughed. "I was waiting for someone to take pity on me and choose me as their partner, but he just approached me and asked."
"Yeah, it was obvious by the look on his eyes," Nat shook his head.
I blinked, "What do you mean by that?"
"He looks at you like... I don't know, like how he talks about you."
"Lance looks at me like how my secret admirer talks about me?" I laughed, "That doesn't make any sense at all, Nat."
"You know what I mean," he laughed. "I mean, it seems like he really likes you, and not just as a friend."
"I just think he's a really nice person, and good project partner," I nodded.
"Oh, friendzoned," he laughed. "Or is it just because your mind's with that Youngbae person now?"
"I've known Lance for only two weeks, Nat. And Youngbae, I've known for much much longer. I even know my secret admirer longer than I've known Lance, and I don't even know who this guy is," I laughed.
"I guess," he laughed. "But don't think too much about it, I guess."
"I know, that's what I'm trying to do," I laughed.
"Come on, we should go to our class," he stood up and got his bag. I followed suit.
