CHAPTER XXX

“Look who’s here!” Lisa cheered as Rosé entered the house and giving her a naughty look. Rosé rolled her eyes and ignored Lisa. Lisa chuckled and invited Jungkook to come inside the house.

“Oh- you’re back?!” Jennie exclaimed when she sees Rosé. She smiles to Jennie. “How was the trip…” Jennie moves her head closer to Rosé, “...and last night?” she whispers.

“Unnie!” Rosé hits Jennie’s hand lightly. Jennie giggles.

“I’m sorry for sending them back late,” Jungkook said as he puts down a white cork box on the floor.

“It’s okay. If you don’t want to send them back also it’s fine,” Lisa teased. Rosé glares at her. Lisa giggles. “What’s that, by the way?” Lisa asked. Kneeling in front of the cork box that Jungkook put down earlier. She opened the box and widened her eyes to see what’s in the box. “Oh my God! Unnie!!!” Lisa shouted and pulled Jennie’s hand. “Unnie, let’s make hotpot! Or, or grill seafood!” Lisa excited to see the fresh seafood inside the box.

“Okay, okay. Calm down, Lisa,” Jennie said. “You should join us too,” Jennie invited Jungkook. Jungkook widened his eyes.

“Oh- he...has to go,” Rosé interrupted.

“Awww come on! Don’t try to chase him away, Chae!” Lisa frowned. “It’s okay, come join us, Jungkook-shi,” Lisa smiles. She stood up, “I will call Jisoo unnie to get back home and buy some meat along the way,” Lisa excitedly exclaimed and went to her room to call Jisoo.

Jennie smiles. “Jiyeon-ah, do you want to help me prepare the hot pot?” she asked Jiyeon. Jiyeon nods happily and take Jennie’s hand and left both Jungkook and Rosé alone.

Rosé turns to Jungkook.

“Have a seat first. I’ll tell you when the hot pot is ready,” Rosé said and was about to leave him to follow Jennie to the kitchen. Jungkook pulled her hand gently.

Rosé turns back again, looking at Jungkook. She lifts her eyebrows. He moves closer, at the same time pulls her hand gently into a hug. He her hair. “Thank you,” he whispers.

Rosé struggles to push him away before getting caught by fussy Lisa or Jennie or Jiyeon but Jungkook hugs her tighter.

“I can never thanked you enough for this so I’m going to say it all over again,” Jungkook whispers into her ears.

Rosé gently his back. “Don’t waste it again,” she said. Rosé slowly pulls off from the hug, giving Jungkook a comforting smile. She then walked to the kitchen to help Jennie and Jiyeon preparing the hot pot.

Jungkook smile to himself.

“I saw what happened,” Lisa suddenly appeared from the nook of the stairs. She naughtily flashed a smile to Jungkook.

Jungkook blushed.

“I also hope you don’t waste it again,” Lisa told him seriously. “I know it’s very hard for her to make that decision, so if you breaks her heart again, I will break your neck,” Lisa threatened him.

Jungkook gasped and laughed later on.

“I promise I won’t let you down,” Jungkook assures.

“Wow! What’s with the hot pot?” Jisoo exclaimed as she put a plastic filled with meat on the table. Jennie took the plastic bag and bring it to the sink to put it on the plate.

“Chae brings back lots of fresh seafood so I suggested we should do hot pot!” Lisa clapped her hands happily as she told Jisoo.

“Yah Lalisa! What is wrong with your appetite? You told me to bring back home meat for BBQ but you didn't say we have hot pot? Which one do you want to eat?” Jisoo puts her hands on her waist and widened her eyes looking at Lisa playfully.

Lisa giggles and went to hug Jisoo from the side. “I want both!” and kissed Jisoo on the cheek.

Jisoo grins and pinch Lisa’s cheeks lightly.

“Okay, let’s eat!” Jennie exclaimed as she put two plate of meat on the dining table. “Jungkook-shi, dig in. Don’t be shy,” Jennie invited.

“Thank you,” he said.

Jungkook walk to the side of the griller. He pick up the tongs and put the meat on the grille and cook it. After the meat is fully cooked, he cut it into pieces and put it on Jiyeon’s plate.

“You should eat a lot and grow up faster,” he said, patted Jiyeon’s head. Jiyeon grins and nods.

He then pick up another few pieces of meat and put on Rosé‘s plate. Rosé look at him. He smiles.

“You also should eat a lot,” he said silently.

“Uwuuuuuuu,” Lisa exclaimed and teases both of them while biting on her chopstick. Rosé glares at her. Lisa chuckles. “Honey, I want meat too,” Lisa playfully pouted and shove her plate to Jisoo.

Both Jennie and Jisoo also giggles while covering their mouth.

“Are we going to hear good news…..or are we not?” Jisoo playing with her chopstick, smiling at Rosé. Rosé shyly smiles and look away.

Jungkook turns to look at Rosé.

“Thank you for inviting me here,” Jungkook suddenly speaks. Everyone turns to look at him. “I really appreciate everyone’s kindness to me despite of what I’ve done in the past especially to Chaeyoung,” he continued. “But since everyone is here, I would like to ask permission and say something.” Jungkook took a deep breath.

Everyone are focusing on him.

“Chaeyoung-ah,” Jungkook called. He stood up, pulls Rosé’s chair facing him and kneels down in front of her. Everyone gasped. Jungkook hold Rosé’s hand. “I know it’s too early for this and it’s very hard for you to make a decision in a short time. But I really wanted you to know that I’m serious with you and I love you so much. I won’t leave you again no matter what happen. I can promise you that confidently,” he said. “I can’t live a day without you and my baby girl, Chae. Therefore, I would like to ask, will you marry me?” Rosé’s eyes widened.

Everyone except Rosé cheered up. She still cannot process all the things that had happened to her in just few days. Everything is too fast approaching.

“It’s okay if you don’t have the answer now. I can wait forever if you want. If you’re not ready for marriage yet, never mind. But, would you like it if I bring you to live with me? I wanted to take care of you and Jiyeon,” Jungkook said again.

Rosé gulped.

“Indeed,” Rosé opens . “It’s too early for marriage,” she said. “And I can’t live with you if we’re not married,” Jungkook looks down in despair. “It’s not proper, right? It makes me look like a mistress to other people.” Rosé told him. “But…” Jungkook look up to her again. “If you’re really serious, go and convince my parents to accept you. If they can accept you, I will be the one who’s going to ask you to marry me,” she pull off a smiled.

Jungkook smiled, showing his teeth. All Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo smiled diligently looking at them. Jiyeon is so excited.

“You’re not lying, right? You really going to marry me if your parents accept me?” Jungkook assures.

Rosé nods. “But they are very hard to please,” she grins.
