CHAPTER XIII

Time with you is a gift that I always take for granted.

“WHAT?” Lisa slightly shouted.

            Jennie grins at Lisa who’s being so extra after hearing what Rosé just said.

            “So, how is it going with him now? You’re working in his office right? Did he not ask about what had happened or why are you acting that way the other day?” Jisoo asks calmly. Her expression looks worried.

            Rosé smiles. “Everything is fine. He didn’t ask why I suddenly leave work early. We didn’t even talked that much since that day. Besides, I avoid talking to him. I pretended to be busy so that he won’t talk to me. I prefer it this way. So that when I leave, I’m leaving everything behind as well. My work, my feelings,” Rosé said, silently.

            “Are you okay?” Jisoo asks, holding Rosé’s hand on her lap.

            Rosé smiles, nodding.

            “I’m fine. Don’t worry. I’m well prepared for this to happen. I feel guilty towards all of you for troubling and not telling you all the things that I’ve been plotting. I am so selfish, right?” Rosé sighed.

            “I think you’re not the only one who should feel guilty though,” Lisa glared at Jennie.

            “Okay fineeee! I’m sorry too okay for not telling,” Jennie surrender.

            “Good! Next time, if something crucial like this happening again, please please please tell us. Don’t keep it to yourself,” Lisa nagged.

            Rosé laugh.

            “I know. I won’t okay?” says Rosé.

            “V, is she leaving when the production team take over?” ask Jungkook quietly, while staring at his laptop that does not even turning on blankly.

            V looks at him, cynically smile.

            “Hm,” he responded, short.

            Jungkook weakly nods.

            “Why is she so special? If she’s the same Chaeyoung, the pub girl you met in the past, why are you falling for her now, but not in the past?” V questions. He has never seen Jungkook so into a girl before.

            Yes, the pub girl Chaeyoung in the past is the only girl that Jungkook hook up and lasted longer than the other pub girl that he hook up with, but even with the pub girl Chaeyoung, he has never seen Jungkook so effortlessly tired up without even doing anything. This Rosé/Chaeyoung must be very special to Jungkook.

            “She is the pub girl Chaeyoung, I know. can lie, but not her eyes,” Jungkook suddenly saying.

            “Then, why now?”

            “You still remember, V? My high school lover?” Jungkook slightly smile, staring blankly at the window in his office.

            “Yeah,” V nods.

            “She is a little bit plump, her skin quite dark, wears spectacles and braces, short bob messy hair. Totally not my style. Totally doesn’t suit to be with me, to be my girlfriend. But I really love her. Love her with all my heart. We even dated for almost two years, you know,” Jungkook tell.

            “So?”

            “The whole school were talking about how a girl like her can date a guy like me. But do you know what makes me likes her so much? That’s because she is true to herself. She is being herself. That’s what I love the most about her. The other girls at school were just trying to get my attention by doing this and that, it’s annoying. Just like the current Chaeyoung. She is true to herself, unlike other girls I hook up with at the bar. Or the pub girl Chaeyoung I met in the past. That’s why I really likes her,” Jungkook express his feelings.

            “But you barely knew her,” V frowns.

            “I know right. Why do I fall head over heels for her? I also want to know,” Jungkook sighed.

            “Think more about it. You might be feeling like this because she was just being nice to you. Besides, you met her every day. Maybe that’s why you feel comfortable with her,” says V.

            V did not mean to break Jungkook’s heart from falling for Rosé but he is afraid that Jungkook might break her heart when he starts to get bored. V, himself knew that Rosé is a nice girl. She doesn’t deserve to be mistreated if she falls for Jungkook one day when he approached her.

            “But, what happened to your high school lover? I haven’t heard about her after you leave to the States,” ask V.

            Jungkook smirked.

            “Yeah, I thought she was very special at first but turns out she is also an easy girl.”

            “Mr. Jeon,” Rosé called as she arranging all the paper works that she has been working on since morning.

            “Yes?” Jungkook replied.      

            “I’ve compiled all that is needed for your referral and guidelines when the production team start to work on their part. I’ve emailed the copies to my production team as well. My partner will take over to monitor the progress of the project. I’ve included his contact number in this file. I’ve also brief him about what I’ve been working on,” Rosé explains.

            “Oh- are you not going to supervise?” Jungkook ask.

            Rosé shook her head.

            “Hm- no. I told you many times right? I’ll leave once the production team takes over. So, my work here is done. I’ll not come here tomorrow. If anything, you may discuss with my partner,” she tells Jungkook.

            Jungkook nods lightly.

            “Rosé-shi,” he calls.

            “Ms. Park,” Rosé corrected him.

            “Oh- yeah. Ms. Park,” Jungkook flustered. “Can I treat you to a dinner tonight to celebrate your work that had finished?” he invites.

            “I’m afraid not. I prefer to celebrate it with those who are important to me,” she casually said and smiles.

            “So, I’m not important huh?” Jungkook whispers and smirked.

            “Sorry?”

            Rosé frowns.

            “No. Nothing.”

            (phone ringing)

            “Yes Lisa?” Rosé answers her call. “WHAT??!!!”
