CHAPTER XXI

“Okay, first day for work. Are you ready, Park Chaeyoung-shi?” Lisa said, holding both her hands over her stomach and looks at Rosé with excitement.

“Yes, what should I do on my first day of work?” Rosé lazily answered.

“Good! I love this spirit of working!” Lisa ignored Rosé’s lazy tone. “First of all, since we’ve chosen several venues last night so it is time to unleash your skills, Rosé-shi. Go and meet our client and of course, discuss about the venue. And don’t forget to double-confirmed the wedding theme. It’s garden theme,” Lisa ordered.

Lisa pulled out her mobile phone and start typing something before showing it to Rosé. “This is the phone number of the client.”

“You’re not coming with me?” Rosé asks, frowning as she type in the phone number into her mobile phone.

“Come on sis. We still have a lot of work to do. Just this, can’t you do it alone?” Lisa asks her back.

“Yeah of course I can. But it’s my firs-”

“Okay enough babbling. Get to work now! Chop! Chop!” Lisa pushes Rosé out of the house and put a file and a tab on Rosé’s hand. “Bye.” Lisa waves goodbye to Rosé and closed the door. Rosé sighed.

“Seriously, Lisa?”

Rosé shook her head in disbelief, unlocked her car and get inside. She puts the file and tab that Lisa gave her just now on the passenger’s seat and reached out for her mobile phone to type something before she opens the navigation and starts to drive.

Rosé arrives at the destined location in just half an hour thanks to her strong mind for still remembering the roads in Korea. She parked her car right in front of the café she’s meeting Jisoo’s friend and walk inside. Rosé looks around to see no one matches the description that were told through text by the client before she left the house just now. Rosé then just took a seat somewhere while waiting for the client.

*ting*

Rosé’s phone rang when she was just lay down on the chair at the corner of the café. She took her phone on the table to read the text she just received.

“I’ve arrived,” the text message says.

“Me too. I sat at the corner of the café. I wear floral printed dress,” Rosé texted back the person she’s meeting and starts typing a message for Lisa to inform her that the person she’s meeting has come.

As she was busy typing on her phone, someone greeted Rosé.

“Hi.”

Rosé looks up to see someone unexpected.

“Hi-” Rosé startled. “Jungkook-shi.”

Jungkook smile and took a seat in front of Rosé. Rosé looked away and cleared . She took out the file and tab she brings from her bag and put it on the table. She already cursed Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo thousandth times, choke them to death 76 times, and burn them alive 38 times for the surprise.

“Who could ever thought they could be best friend only after a year I left,” Rosé mumbled to herself.

“Waiter!” Jungkook called, trying so hard not to care what Rosé talked about.

A young boy came to their table and ask for their order.

“What would you like to drink?” Jungkook asks Rosé.

Rosé look at the young boy who is waiting to take their order.

“No, I’m good. Thanks,” she said.

Jungkook smile to the waiter. “Hm I would like coffee please. Give this lady orange juice and two Creamy Fettuccine with Mushroom. Thank you,” Jungkook handed over the menu to the waiter. He turns looking at Rosé and smiles. “You like pasta right?” he asks.

Rosé sighed.

“We’re here to discuss about the wedding. Not to eat,” Rosé said.

“We should at least eat something right? It’s already lunch hour. Besides I did not grab any breakfast this morning, I’m starving,” Jungkook said, his stomach.

Rosé sighed again. She pick up her tab and look for something. She shove it in front of Jungkook the images that appears on the tab. “I already picked up a few venues. I heard that the bride wanted a garden wedding so its best if we could held an outdoor wedding because the decoration will look more outstanding instead of recreating a garden-like view inside a hall,” she told Jungkook.

Jungkook nods.

“You can have a look to see if any venues I’ve picked suit your taste,” Rosé said. “But we still have an indoor option if you prefer it to be inside the building,” she added.

Jungkook slides through the screen and stops at one photos. He shows the tab to Rosé. “Do you think this place looks good?” he asks.

Rosé take a look at the screen. Wow this is the place I really recommend to hold the wedding. Not bad, Rosé says in her heart. She nods. “This place looks good. If the bride likes it, it should not be a problem,” she said.

Jungkook nods again.

“I will send the photos of the venue to you to show it to the bride. Who knows she might not like it right?” says Rosé while busy sending the photos to Jungkook.

“I believe she’ll like it a lot,” Jungkook says. Rosé just smile slightly.

“Then, shall we look at the flow plan?” Rosé suggests.

“Shall we?”

Their food arrives as Rosé just pick up the file from the table to show it to Jungkook. Rosé looks at the food served in front of her. As the waiter finished serving and was about to walk away, she called the waiter.

“Can you change it to just mushroom soup? Thanks,” Rosé requested.

The waiter smile and nods.

“No need. Just bring the mushroom soup,” Jungkook stops the waiter. He turns to look at Rosé after the waiter left. “You’re not hungry?” Jungkook asks Rosé.

“I am,” she answered.

“Then why are you eating only mushroom soup? You likes to eat pasta a lot right? We used to eat pasta a lot back in high school. Why aren’t you eating it today?” Jungkook asks again.

“I don’t like pasta now,” Rosé said.

“Why?”

“Because it reminded me of things I refused to remember,” she said bluntly.

Jungkook stunned by her answer. He knows by things that she refused to remember, she actually meant him. Jungkook bites his lips and nods. He understand now that Rosé has totally moved on from him. She has start anew. Only he left, being stuck in the past.

“It’s fine if you don’t want to eat,” he said silently.

“Excuse me. Your mushroom soup, miss,” the waiter came back again to serve Rosé’s mushroom soup. She nods, thanking the waiter.

“I think, why not I met you again in other days along with your bride. Because I think it is better if you both know the flow plan. And I don’t have to repeat myself twice if I have to meet you and your bride differently,” Rosé suggested.

Jungkook widened his eyes.

“But it’s not my wedding,” he told her.

Rosé frowns.

“It’s my friend’s wedding. He told me to settle everything for him because he is super busy. He had to settle his business outside the country. And his bride is not even here in Korea. She’s doing research now so she always went out of country as well,” Jungkook added.

Rosé stares blankly.

“Do you…think it’s my wedding?” Jungkook asked.

Rosé looks out the window and smirked.
