UNLOCKING THE PADLOCK TO HIS LOCKER, JAEMIN OPENED THE RECTANGLE STORAGE BOX AND WIDEN HIS EYES. Finally, after a tiring day in class the hazel haired boy could stretch out a little and was free to do whatever he wants. With that, he gladly examined the books in his lockers; Wicca Book of Spells, Modern Witchcraft Book of Love Spells, the Modern Guide to Witchcraft: Your Complete Guide to Witches, Covens and Spells. Bingo! He picked up the lavender covered book and hugged it in his arms, then took a few important sheets from his bright turquoise folder as well as his small tracker notepad.

Let's just say, Jaemin was trying to act chill these days. Too chill. He would walk into the school building and sit himself down in his homeroom class, and tries not to look around or pay much attention to his nosy, meddlesome classmates. At lunch, of course, he wouldn't go around the school like he used to, to find his best friend, and would rather shuffle to the library and dump out all the books he had borrowed from the public library in town from his purple jansport. He found it easy to occupy his aspiring needs with his witchcraft books, making himself look like a nerdy bookworm, rather than reading the novels and non-fiction books from his school shelves. Who knew spending time in the freezer like room would get some unexpected gossip from the pupils around him, who would whisper aggressively too loud when talking between them. Jaemin swears, he wasn't eavesdropping on them at all, he just accidentally heard them bad mouthing the leader of the girls dance team, who apparently almost got together with the headmaster's son, a ninth grader.

People have really weird tastes these days.

Too bad he can't laugh about it with Renjun.

Jaemin couldn't lie. He missed his best friend. Sure, they've had these types of fights before in middle school. But right now, he really needed someone to babble his mouth to. He needed Renjun's ears, so he could ramble about his stress because of school, how his dumb, experimental lip balm doesn't work, his figure skating coach apparently wants him to perform in a recital he was holding and he can't find time to actually practise, just everything! The elder was the best listener anyone can ever ask for, and Jaemin really enjoyed having him in his middle school life. He would've went insane if it wasn't for Renjun. And this battle was legitimately killing him.

He felt bad for not saying anything when they made eye contact after the last bell.

"Hey Jaemin,"

With someone calling out his name, it rocked him out of his thoughts. Jaemin turned his head to the owner of the voice and half smiled at the pacing lad, "Jeno?"

"Yeah," He plainly mumbled, "Here, I got the things you wanted for our final biology project, and listed the stuffs we might need that's not in the lab." Jeno held out a few sheets of tidy printed paper, neatly sealed in a clear plastic folder.

Jaemin's heart stopped beating for a rough second, "Oh god, thanks a lot!" He beamed, taking the folder in hand, "Then I'll book the lab for us later on Thursday—"

"No need, I've done that already!" Jeno cut in, assuring a thumbs up at the lad.

The brunet's tongue was tied into knots, they seemed undoable. He looked up at Jeno's hazel eyes, churning the bees and flowers in his stomach. "Wow," He bashfully muttered, "Thanks Jen."

He widely grinned, "It's really no problem," He said, fiddling with the tips of his fingers. Jeno sighed at the other, "Look, the thing is, I can't stay long for our actually experiment on Thursday. Mr. Han is making us practise before our match on Friday, and you know I can't miss that out," He said, "I'm really sorry Jaemin."

The brunet giggled, "It's fine! I totally can do it alone." He said, "Thanks to you, tonight I'll be able to practise for a recital I'm supposed to perform in."

Jeno's faded smile was granted back on his lips, "Oh, you dance?"

Jaemin shook his head, "Figure skate. I haven't practise ever since before summer break."

"Wow, really? That's cool!" Jeno said, "How about I write the beginning and everything else, and you write our results and evaluation of the experiment, just send it to me later. So on Sunday we'll be finished?"

The other hummed, while closing his locker shut, "Hey, that's a pretty cool idea." Jaemin mumbled, "Okay! That'll get us done much quicker." He said, cuddling the pile of sheets and books in his arms closer to his blunt chest, "Then I guess I'll get going now—"

"I'll walk you home!"

That sudden blubber made Jaemin's shoulders weak. He turned his heels and looked at Jeno.

"I mean, let's walk home together." He merrily grinned, pacing up ahead of the brunet.

Jaemin would've lie if he hadn't say he slapped his cheeks before following the coal haired lad, timidly yanking the loose strap of his bag closer.

From the wide double doors of the school exit, to the high silver gates, Jaemin kept on trailing behind the taller male, who had his speed balanced out evenly. Jaemin couldn't help but lower his head as they turned right from the security post, while the sun weighted his thick uniform with its blazing beams. He couldn't help but stare at Jeno, who had his palm cosily in his pocket, smiling as bright as the golden rays. Jeno purposely lightened his pace on the sidewalk so he would be walking beside the brunet male, glancing at him blithely.

"Not to offend you or anything Jaemin," He suddenly start off, "But for someone like you, you're doing really well on this project. Maybe even better than I am." Jeno claimed, as a faint smirk lightly painted him lips.

Jaemin snorted, "No offence taken," He said, "Don't think I don't have the brain, I'm just really lazy most of the time."

Jeno chortled, letting the left strap of his backpack sluggishly fall and balanced the heavy c
