Mid-December came fast. It's winter break for Yujin and the rest of the students in her school. Usually, Wonyoung and her would be out in a ski resort by now but things have changed. After their encounter in the school they stopped seeing each other. Yujin avoided anyone related to Wonyoung except Yena (she can never really keep her away) and stayed more with Minju instead. She stopped picking up Wonyoung from her house, no more classroom visits, and gone were their shared lunches. It's as if they never existed in each other's lives just because of that one confession

"Yujin-ah, I've made plans with Mrs. Jang. For our usual vacation at their ski resort," Yujin's mom said one morning. She was too focus pouring the right amount of milk in her cereal when her mom dropped the bomb. She swore she almost poured half of the milk in her bowl. 

"What?"

"Why? Isn't it our tradition to celebrate winter with the Jang?" Her mom said. 

Yujin didn't know what to say. She's been avoiding the younger girl for two weeks and all of a sudden they have to be in each other's bubble again. What the hell is she supposed to do? 

"Y-yeah."

Is what Yujin could only mutter as she shoves a spoonful of milk and cereal in . She just hopes her mom doesn't pry too much with how she reacted. Although of course, luck has never been on her side and not more than 30 seconds into her meal her mother brought it up already.

"Why did you react like that anyway?"

Yujin is dumb founded yet again. She didn't say anything and her mom kept on saying things. 

"I've noticed that she hasn't been coming over. You don't pick her up anymore either with how late you've been leaving the house. Don't get me started with how you never mention her name for the past two weeks or so. Tell me, did you fight?"

There's the million dollar question that Yujin's been waiting. Are they fighting? She's not too sure. It's more of like avoiding each other but only on her side though. She doesn't know about Wonyoung's. 

"Mom, we're okay. I don't think I can come to their ski resort though. I have plans with Minju, she has no one to spend her winter break with," Yujin mutters. Her mom's eyebrows furrowed with her reply.  

"Wow, it's been Minju this and Minju that. You sure you two are not yet together?"

She should have blushed. She should have heard the fast beating of her heart. She should have hitched her breath. She was supposed to feel something when she gets tease like this since it's her crush they're talking about. But she didn't, she felt nothing. 

"We're not, I'm just keeping her company."

Yujin finishes her cereal quickly after that and left it on the sink. She went to her room without having another follow-up question from her mother. She might have noticed at how Yujin feels uncomfortable about the topic of her relationship with either Wonyoung and Minju.

Yujin dove right onto her bed after she closed her door. She took her phone and sent a message to Yena.
