My AFF username is dereknstiles

2.How many Stories have you published on AFF so far?
I’ve published 10 stories on AFF so far. Seven of which are complete, three of which are ongoing.

3.Do you write on a particular Fandom?
EXO.

4.Generally, what is your source of inspiration or motivation to write?
I love writing, I’ve been writing since I was little. But I read a lot, and hence my inspiration can stem from anything that I find particularly interesting. The motivation would definitely come from readers and their responses. I think for a writer, their reader is their biggest motivation. Thank you my lovely readers!

5.Many authors suffer from writer’s block sometime. How should they deal with it?
It depends on why there’s a block. Sometimes, the best thing to do is take a break and get back to it when the mind is in the right place once again. Other times, a writer should just sit down and take a look at their plotline, and arrange it in a neat order, jot it down in points and then get back to weaving the story.

6.If you place yourself in the position of a reader, which element in the story would catch your attention?
The first element would be the genre, then the plot, and then the characters. In that order.

7.How would you deal with negative comments on your story? Do you think a criticizing comment would influence a writer’s mind in a better way?
Negative comments and comments that are meant to criticize are totally different. Negative comments can be hurtful and meaningless. One should ignore them. Comments that are meant to be criticism are clear to make out because they generally point out the writer’s style or a flaw in the plotline. They should be taken into consideration if the writer feels positively about it. Otherwise, the writer should just go ahead with what they have planned right from the start. It is their story after all.

8.What genre do you like to read and write?
All. I enjoy everything. And I would LOVE to explore all genres when it comes to writing.
