SIDE A: ACCIDENTALLY YOURS

"Yuri, hey. I was wondering if you could accompany me today to-"

"Uh, sorry I can't. I have a personal schedule today."

"So I guess I'll be waiting for you to finish your schedule then?"

"No need. I'll be in Jeju today then I'll fly for Europe tomorrow. I won't be around for 2 weeks."

"Two weeks?" Jessica bites her lower lip. "Well, take care."

"Yeah, you too."

 

She closes the door of the house, leaving Jessica sighing by herself. It's been days since the surprise and she really thought that Yuri was finally warming up to her and giving her a chance to see the other side of hers but right now- she couldn't help but feel that there's something off with their relationship, more specifically- there's something off with Yuri. Jessica couldn't figure out what was off with the latter but as the days passed by, Yuri seems to slowly shut down and build her walls up again making the brunette fully annoyed with the push-and-pull situation.

Just a few moments the door re-opens again, revealing her bestfriend looking very girly and feminine with her dress to perfectly match her bob hair cut. Jessica smiles to herself, wondering how Tiffany could manage to wear a dress in such a breezing weather.

 

 

"Ready for your gig today top model?"

The latter rolls her eyes. "We both know I'm not a top model."

"Of course you're not. I'm just trying to lighten up the mood sheesh."

"As always." She stands up, and encourages herself to face this day with a smile. "Let's go. I can't wait to see that new car of yours that you've been bragging about all week."

 

Both of them giggled as the brunette finally sees the pink compact car Tiffany has been talking to her about. She knew this girl was a huge fan of any shade of pink in this entire galaxy and her rugged pink scooter with a pink basket along with the pink helmet proves it. She continues to adore seeing how cute the car actually was and how it literally screamed Tiffang Hwang all over it.

She got inside, and complimented Tiffany for her awesome driving noob driving skills. They were heading out for a magazine interview wherein she shares her personal stories and imaginations being as a first time mother. Right after the surprise Yuri made along with the short vacation vlog, a lot of people sympathized with her and understood that her situation wasn't easy which made her the talk of the town. Instantly, she's hearing and getting various offers for pregnancy-related products or segments which was too lot to handle for a pregnant woman. And with Tiffany having loads of free time, she volunteered to assist Jessica out until she has a team of
her own.

Arriving at the set, she had already been familiar with all of this shazams and whatnots. She greets the staff warmly making sure they're all energized for the day before heading out to the dressing room where all of the stylists in different various areas are all excited to glam her up, making sure to make her feel comfortable and Jessica would return in the favor, making sure all of them are feeling okay with her by simply conversing and talking about some girl stuffs while Tiffany sits on the corner, reviewing or writing her thesis.

The schedule ends around late evening and when Tiffany found out that Yuri wouldn't be around for two weeks, she volunteered to stay for the night knowing what kind of pregnancy her best friend has and the amount of attention needed to her. After paying for their Thai dinner, both of them binged watch an American series where after five episodes they decide to call it a night.

 

 

"Well at least now we know Will is still out there." Tiffany starts the conversation. "Wow, this was the longest day of my life."

"You always say that when you're with me."

"That's because your schedule is soooo tiring." She whines. "Are you not tired?"

"Not too much. I can manage."

"We need to rest, you still have schedule for tomorrow."

"What will be my schedule for tomorrow?"

"Just a little commercial for this anti-aging product."

"Right, right." She chuckles. "Tomorrow is another big day." She receives a hum in response. "Is there something bothering you?"

Jessica looks at Tiffany and she wants to talk to her about it but she knows the latter has already too much on her plate at the moment so she brushes it off with a smile and a cheery voice. "No, it's nothing big to worry about. I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" Jessica nods to reassure the latter. "Jes, you know you can talk to me about anything right?"

"I know." She nods. "Maybe it's just the raging hormones and the upcoming schedules and holiday dues."

"Well if that's the hormones we need to sleep. So that you won't have to wake me up in the middle of the night asking me to run to the nearest supermarket for a weird combination of food. Can't have the cashier look at me weirdly."

 

12 hours away from Seoul was a very awake and energetic Yuri, sitting on the dressing room having a taste of her Ma juice, a beverage that she hasn't tried in the longest time. Jessica doesn't like the smell of the cucumber althroughout the house and since she didn't want Jessica to go full on HellSica, a term that she had developed whenever Jessica's pregnant hormones would take over her- she just sticks to the brewed coffee in the morning. She doesn't mind it though, Jessica has this magic recipe anyways.

Although the idol was busy rendering to her personal commitments overseas, she hasn't forgotten to keep herself updated about her wife's schedules. She knew about Jessica's activities for the entire week, which products were contacting her and which products would she choose to endorse. She may have not contacted or talked to the brunette personally but Sunny or Tiffany keeps her on the track.

Speaking of Jessica's activities, she knew that today would be the release of the commercial ad Jessica endorsed for the skin and since she had free time, she hops onto her chair, searching for the ad and feels the pride flowing through her when the ad immediately popped up. Ever since the public had been more welcoming to their relationship, things have been better for Jessica too which is what she wants in the first place.

She smiles seeing Jessica act on the ad and she must admit that she was truly a natural. If she hadn't known that she used to be a normal person, she easily would've been fooled that she was a trained actress. But the smile on her face was easily diminished when she saw her wife acting out with a male model- a very handsome male model just to be specific and although everything was purely fictional, she couldn't help but feel jealous.

 

 

"Hello?"

"Yah Sunny, I thought you were going to update me everything about Jessica?"

"Yuri- we both know that's impossible."

"But you could've atleast told me about this glowing ad!"

"Glowing what ad?"

"The one that was recently released!"

"But I did tell you that."

"No you didn't." Still, Sunny argued that she really told the latter. "Okay fine, maybe I've forgotten but I'm pretty sure that acting a male model wasn't included in the agreement!"

"What male model?"

"Have you seen the CF Sunny? She was acting with a male model who- by the way, is pretty damn attractive and looks like pretty damn into my wife! I just checked his instagram and he posted a series of photos including his SNS stories!"

"Yuri, you specifically told me that you wouldn't allow Jessica to endorse a product if she was acting cute with someone else."

"So are you saying they changed it last minute? That's breach of contract!"

"Hey."

"You need to ask them tomorrow why did they have to make last minute changes without informing you or else I'm going to burn them and bury their company!"

"Okay you're totally thinking way ahead of yourself. First of all, they cannot have any changes done without Jessica's consent so before you burna nd bury their company- I suggest you phone your wife first and asked her why did she agree to the sudden changes."

"I..." She sighs. "I can't do that right now. I'm busy."

"You're busy but you have time to call and annoy me about Jessica acting cute with someone else?"

"It's hard to explain okay? There's a lot going through my mind right now."

"So you mean Jessica finally messed up your thinking?"

"Yes- what?" She raises her voice a little higher. "No of course not! She cannot mess up my thinking!"

"You do know you're bad at lying right?"

"I'm not lying." Sunny just hums in response. "I'm really not lying Sunny."

"You're not lying Yuri." She repeats making the latter sigh. "Come on, we all can see it already. What are you so afraid of?"

"A lot." She says in much softer tone. "I'm not even sure how I feel."

"Do you like being with her?"

"Yeah. She's fun to be with and she's also very smart. I feel like I keep on learning whenever we talk."

"Do you like her?"

"As a person, definitely."

"More than a person?"

"I..." She bites her lower lip in doubt. "What if I'm only like this because she's the one I'm with almost everyday. I see her most of the time and we hang out even if I'm out with my friends, she's there. What if this is just my mind playing tricks on me?"

"Do you feel like your mind's playing tricks on you?"

"I don't know- maybe?" She looks up the ceiling feeling exhausted with all these thoughts in her head. "What if I try to be with her only to find out she's not the one I want? I can't hurt her Sunny-ah, she's the most innocent and pure person I have ever met. I don't want to decide now only to regret it later."

"Is that why you've been giving her the cold shoulder?" Sunny asks. "To figure out what you really want?"

"Yeah."

"Well if that's the case, then take your time. It's nice to hear that you want to be certain about what you really feel towards her before jumping back again. Maybe Jessica will also use this time to re-assure herself of her feelings for you too. You know, if she really has one. I guess it's true what they say- absence makes the heart grow fonder."

"Thank you for listening and giving out advice."

"No problem, and I know what's going on through your head so I promise you I won't tell a soul not until you're ready."

That made Yuri relieved. "Thanks."

"Now, empty your head from any kind of distractions and just focus on your work there. We still have a lot to do here once you return."

"Alright, I'll see you soon Sunny. Thanks again."

 

"Tiff, we haven't forgotten anything right?"

"Nothing."

"I'm sorry for dragging you all into this."

"Nah, you're actually my savior. I was dying out of boredom in the apartment anyways."

"I can't wait to see their faces. Do you think they'll like it? I'm just so excited."

"Eyy, you're just excited to see Yuri again aren't you."

"We-e-well-"

"Aigoo, you already sound like a love-struck pup, what's the point of denying it anyways."

 

Tiffany walks past Jessica who was wearing a pout on their way out of the elevator. They were currently at the agency company, preparing to give out full lunch sets for the entire staffs, teams and the band too who were busy planning on how the upcoming concert would go. It will be the last activity of the band for the year and from there they'll be doing the tour from neighboring countries as well before attending the awards show on Christmas and New Years' Eve.

 

Both of them knocked and poked their heads out, surprising everyone inside the room. "Oh hey Jessie! What brings you here?"

"Hey guys." Jessica greeted all of them which they greeted in the same manner. "We just dropped by to give you guys a full lunch, I know it's going to be a very stressful day so I was hoping to cheer you on with this."

 

The staffs immediately gave out gratitude once they heard the news. Jessica and Tiffany wastes no time in handing out the lunch boxes and telling everyone to enjoy the meal while the others thanked them. Once they were finished handing out, they looked at the people who were obviously enjoying the food and they couldn't help but feel proud of themselves. Jessica continues to look at the door, hoping that someone would actually appear and join them for this feast.

 

 

"She went out for an emergency meeting. It was about her contract with a coffee brand." Sunny appears beside her. "She hasn't showed up since morning."

"I see." She says, a hint of disappointment surrounding her voice and a sad smile dancing on her lip. "So I guess she's also busy this week."

"With the concert coming up and the year-end award shows her schedule is off the hook. I'm not going to be surprised if she forgets her birthday."

Jessica widens her eyes. "Oh my, her birthday is within 3 weeks now." She gasps. "I didn't even plan a surprise event yet."

"Well I don't know if it helps but her birthday is the day of the concert." Sunny says. "It's still a rough plan but I'm pretty sure we're going to push through this. Yuri wants to celebrate her day with the people she loves."

"If this gets pushed, then the public will expect a public surprise from me?"

"I think by now you should stop what the public thinks. From they way I see it, you should just do what do you want for Yuri that day. Her family is probably going to throw a party for her afterwards so maybe you can start there."

"Thank you Sunny. I'll try to call and meet them this afternoon." She says. "What do you-"

"What's this?" All of them turned around to see a very curious Kwon Yuri. "What's going on?"

Hyoyeon coughs, making the tanned-idol look at her. "Jessica and Tiffany dropped by to hand out lunch boxes for us."

There was a moment of silence before Yuri turns to them. "Thank you." She smiles, but Jessica could see right through it.

"Here you go buddy, why don't you have a taste? The Bulgogi is so on point! And the side dishes too, yah... I'm so jealous of you getting to eat all of these meals everyday!"

 

Compliments flowed and it caused Jessica to blush hearing all of the staff liking her cooking. She continues to look at Yuri, who was pretty busy finishing hers nervous on what she has to say. She really wanted Yuri to like it and appreciate the effort she has put through to go all this. She may have seen this on a variety show where in the wife cheers her husband on while they are preparing something big and all of the husband's responses were positive so she hopes the latter feels the same.

After finishing the meal, she subtly asks for Jessica to come and meet her outside without causing too much attention from the general eye. Jessica follows her wife down through the recording room where Yuri made sure no one was following them before she closes the door. The silence between them was deafening and suffocating and she didn't like it for a second because it felt like she has done terribly wrong which she wasn't sure what that thing was.

 

 

"You shouldn't have done that." Yuri finally speaks. "You're going to stress yourself out again."

"I'm not. I had a free schedule and I wanted to do something so I just-"

"Cooking for 30 people is obviously stressing yourself out."

"It's the least that I could do, I really want to cheer your team on." She hangs her head low, feeling so guilty all of a sudden. "We don't talk like we used to so I don't really know on how to cheer you up since I know you already have so many things to stress about."

"If you think that's the case then stop doing all these extra things. My personal career is already stressful as it is, what more could you possibly add." She says in an annoyed tone.

"I'm-"

"Can you please just go home?" She almost begs, which makes Jessica sad. (I)Does she not want to see me after being away for days? The brunette thinks. "Take a rest or do something please."

"But today is the doctor's-"

"Just reschedule."

"Unnie said we can no longer reschedule. She'll be gone for the holidays."

Yuri sighs. "Fine, just go with Tiffany."

"But today's check-up includes-"

"God Jessica it's just a schedule why make such a fuss like this?" She says totally annoyed with the whole situation. "I have to go, the meeting's in session."

 

Yuri leaves the room first, and Jessica meets Tiffany down the hall waiting by the elevator door. Her bestfriend gives them a quick glance before understanding the whole situation. She gives Yuri a polite bow before dragging Jessica away from there. After seeing her wife with that sad look behind the elevator doors, she mentally scolds herself for sounding too mean during their conversation. She definitely stepped way out of the line.

 

 

"I don't know what you guys talked about but damn whatever you said sure sounded offensive."

"Sunny." She says as she massages her temples. "Not right now."

"Yuri." Sunny says. "When I sait that you need to sort things out and provide space between you and Jessica, I didn't mean to also hurt Jessica at the process."

"Well what should I do? I don't know what to do anymore..." She sounds so desperate. "I just want her to relax and not overwork herself. She cooked all of this for you guys!" She crosses her arms. "I wouldn't even let her lift a fork whenever I'm at home but here she is, cooking a full meal for the rest of the team. She didn't even cooked for me, not even once!" She mumbles to herself but Sunny heard her perfectly. "Yah, why are you laughing?"

"Do you even hear yourself?" Sunny shakes her head with disbelief. "Because in my own understand, you were jealous because Jessica cooked for the entire staff and not just for you. Am I right?"

"She's my wife not our company's cook!" She tries to argue but Sunny just continues to laugh at her. "Ugh, will you stop laughing?"

"I'm sorry it's just so funny when you try to argue back but you just lose even more." She wipes her tears of laughter away. "You know what- you can just call this day a ceasefire."

"A what? Ceasefire?"

Sunny nods her head. "Just for one day. Stop fighting your feelings, stop arguing and figuring things out." She smiles. "I know it's too hard on you to avoid someone like her."

"I'm not sure..."

"Besides, isn't today the check up where you know the gender of the baby?" Yuri snaps her head at her. 

"The what?"

"The big gender reveal. You wouldn't shut up about it so I thought you were going with her."

"Oh ."

 

"Well Jessica, just keep on doing those early morning exercises. You can still do maternity yoga if you like and continue to refrain yourself from doing hard workload."

"Thanks unnie." She smiles.

"You know, I was hoping that I'd see Yuri to lecture her on skipping this check-up but it looks like I also need to reschedule."

"I apologize unnie, she's just busy."

"I guess one good thing came out from this one right? You can surprise Kwon Yuri with the gender of the baby!" She says. "It'll be the greatest birthday present for her and it feels like hitting two birds with one stone!"

"I just hope she's going to love it though."

"This is also her child Jessie, of course she's going to love it whatever the child's gender may be."

Jessica smiles. "I'll get going unnie, I'll see you next month."

"Don't mention it, call me if there's any emergency okay?"

 

Jessica bids the doctor farewell and heads down to the lobby where she will be waiting for Tiffany who was out rendering a little help in the reach-out program nearby. She decides to text the eye-smiling girl, letting her know that she was done with the check-up and that she'll be waiting for her right at the lobby.

 

 

"My, my, my."

She turns to the source of the voice and automatically frowns when she sees a familiar face.
