FAMILY MEETING
Can You Hear Me?
Jiyong POV
We went to the police station, “Uncle!” I called as I saw my detective uncle there.
“Uh, Jiyong-ah!” he came welcoming us. “So, you’re the one that is lost, right?”
She bowed, and admitted painfully. “Yes, I’m.”
“Let’s have a sit over there first,” he showed us, “Ji detective, this girl came this morning from south and she lost her parents-”
“Kwon detective!” someone called, “They found the criminal’s whereabouts.”
“Coming!” he shouted back, “Ji detective, please take care of them.”
“U-Uncle!...”
“I’m sorry, I will call you later.” He said and fled.
“Here, fill this form first with your information.”
“Sure,” she took the paper and started filling.
“Jeonrado 309, Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do.” I restated her address.
“Why? Did you go there once?”
“Me? No.”
She just sent a light glare and continued filling.
“Here you go…” she gave him the form.
“No phone number or ID number…”
“I didn’t memorize them.” She scratched her head.
“It’ll be hard, but I will do my best with this, just wait a minute…” he left to ask someone something.
“There’s no recent calls about a missing person that matches your application, but I will look more into it.”
“Sorry for troubling you.” She said while holding her two knees.
“I will attend the restroom quickly.” She whispered for me suddenly.
“Alright.”
The moment she turned to enter the restroom alley, someone entered and walked toward the desk I was sitting before.
“E-Excuse me!” a man and his son entered hurriedly.
“Yes, how can I help you?”
“I lost my daughter today at the street.”
“What is wrong with people and losing their children?” I thought to myself.
“Student, we will look in your case, you can leave for tonight, and I will update you by tomorrow’s morning, I can just update Kwon detective, right?”
“Yeah sure, thank you for your hard work.” I bowed and left to wait for her at the restroom door.
“Uh, did something happen?” she was surprised.
“No, just another case came in, so they told me to wait for tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow? Then what about me? Where should I stay?”
“Our house of course.”
“What? No, I burdened them enough today.”
“Then what? Do you have money to stay at a hotel?”
She shook her head and pouted cutely.
I chuckled, “Then just follow me right now.” And leaded the way.
“B-But…”
“Me knows no buts.”
“We came back.” I announced as I entered our home.
“What happened?”
“We applied a form, and they said they will update us tomorrow.”
“You did well, go wash up and come to eat some fruit with us.”
“I’m really sorry for coming back shamelessly like that.”
“What are you saying? Consider this is your second house.” My mother told her, “What wrong did you do for missing your family in such a wide city?”
“Dami umma, Taeyeon must be tired, go and show her where she should sleep.”
“Sure mother.”
“Fortunately, your father has a business trip today, so your sister already came and slept in my room earlier, so she can use your sister’s room.” She updated me.
“You can use this room over here,” she told her, “If you needed anything, you can ask Jiyong the next door, or just come in and ask me.”
“Thank you for everything.” She bowed once again.
“Have a good night my dear.” She told her and left first.
“You know my room, if you need anything just ask.” She nodded.
