CHAPTER 9

Daniel dropped his body towards his bed

He is tired physically but He is exhausted emotionally

After Jeongyeon told him her story, the both of them remained silent for a long time, when he was about to console her, Jeongyeon asks him to be alone. Daniel didn’t want to leave her alone but he obeyed her because He knows that Jeongyeon wanted to be alone because he knows that kind of feeling

I killed them, that what Jeongyeon said to him today. After Jeongyeon told him her story, he felt like he was about to cry. His heart aches imagining the pain that Jeongyeon felt at that moment

Daniel wants to hug her, to assure her that it was an unfortunate event, that it wasn’t her fault. But again He knows the feeling.

The feeling of knowing that your love ones died because of you. He knows the pain of not able to save them even though you possess such power, and he also knows the feeling being in pain every time memories came back like it has just happen yesterday

But what he didn’t know is the pain she felt they died in front of her.

Daniel closed his eyes. He could now understand why Jihoon is so overprotective to her, why Woojin promised his sword to her and Why Jihyo care so much for her. Now he understand why she cannot stand other people, it’s not because she hates them but because she hates the fact that they reminded her that shes alive while shes dying inside. Now he understand why she chooses to be alone rather than having friends that’s because she is afraid, she afraid that someday she might lose them again. And now He understand why she locked herself in the cabin and refused to go out, because it’s a punishment for herself of the thought that she is the main reason why her love ones died.

Though Daniel doubt that Jeongyeon killed her first love, he has no right to tell Jeongyeon about that for he also blamed himself when they died

Daehwi, Jeongyeons dongsaeng. Euigeon is her first love.

Daniel didn’t know why his heart aches everytime Jeongyeon mentioned their name, he also don’t know but those names seems familiar him maybe because she also lost his dongsaeng and his first love

Daniel close his eyes. And remembered Jeongyeons crying face.

Is she still crying right now? Daniel stopped himself on wiping her tears earlier. Daniel restrains himself on hugging her to assure her that everything is gonna be okay becase he knows that it’s not gonna be the same again.He restrain himself to console her because He knows that Jeongyeon wouldn’t like it. Knowing Jeongyeon she hates people seeing her weak side.

Daniel walked outside his balcony and gaze at the stars. He raise his hands as if they can touch them.

“I hated that you were alone dealing with that. And all I could think about was how I wish I could take some of that pain away from you and let it become my pain. Even for a little bit, I prayed, just to let you breathe. The only thing I want for you is to be happy” he mumbled.

Jeongyeon  wakes up When the first rays of the sun pours into her bedroom window, she squint at it under her sheets, normally it sure brings a welcome smile on her face but right now she is not in the mood even to put up a smile.

She recalled yesterday’s event as she saw her face in the mirror, her eyes if red and puffy from crying too much. When Daniel left her yesterday, Jeongyeon can’t remember how she return at her cabin, all she remembered is she is in pain and curled herself like a baby when she reached her bed and continued on crying

“I cried too much” she mumbled as she try to wash her face to reduce the swelling of her eyes. She know that Jihoon would worry if he see her like this.

She didn’t remember when was the last time she cried, Jeongyeon thought that her tears are already dried up from years of crying but she is wrong. She remembered Daniels reaction. She knew he didn’t hate her but he is more worried about her

Jeongyeon is in the middle of debating within herself if she goes to class right now or she will take a break when she heard a knock on her door

“Jeongyeon, Its time to go” Jihyo called from outside

Jeongyeon sighed, she needs to attend the class or otherwise they will worry especially Daniel. She grabbed her hoodie and her eyeglasses hoping that it would cover her eyes.

“you look terrible” she heard Jihyo said when she step outside her room, she look worried

“is it so obvious?”

Jihyo nodded, “something happened yesterday?” she walk toward her and touch her cheeks

“did Kang Daniel did anything to you?” There is a hint of anger on her voice

Jeongyeon shakes her head

“then why did you cry? I know that you cried so hard last night too”

“Does Jihoon and Woojin know?” She asks coz she knows that the twins would worry if they see her appearance like this

“don’t worry, I drive them away early today so that they wont notice” Jihyo seems to raed her mind, “so tell me, why did you cry? The last time you cried was years ago”

“I told him”

“you mean…”

Jeongyeon nodded, “I told him about Daehwi and Euigeon”

She saw Jihyos eye widened but she hold her questions. She knows that Jihyo trusts her. She saw her smiled gently

“ I’m glad”

Jeongyeon look  at her confusedly

“I’m glad that you opened up with him, I glad that you trust him enough to tell him that story Jeongyeon. It is a good sign that you are open to accept other people other than us” Jihyo warmly smile at her. “now how about we reduce those redness and swelling on your face, we know how those boys will react if hey see your eyes like that” she said while pulling Jeongyeon towards Jihyos bedroom

“what will they do?” she followed Jihyo

“probably kill Daniel for making you cry” Jihyo patted her sea and obediently follows, “we wouldn’t want that right?”

“how will we cover these puffy eyes?”

Jihyo smiled, “make up”

Jeongyeon was amazed on how Jihyo did it. It only takes a few minutes and the puffiness on her cheeks is now gone, though the redness on her eyes is still there, she could say that it is much better than earlier.

She thank Jihyo and wear her glasses to cover her eyes. They walk together for their class this morning. It’s an art class which means they have more free time.

Jeongyeon is nervous, how would she face Daniel now? How would she greet him? Will Jisung  and other will notice her eyes?

“hey!” her train of thoughts was interrupted when she felt hands on her shoulder, she freezes and look who the owner of the hand is

“o-oh it you” she said nervously

“Oh its me?” Jisung raised his brows, “is there something wrong?” he look at her face

Jeongyeon combed her fringed and looked down trying to cover her eyes

“… nothing” she said while obviously Jisung is still not convinced because he kept on staring at her face

“Oppa stop doing that!” Jihyo pulled the older guy, “your making a girl flustered, don’t you know that its rude to stare in short distance”

 “oh sorry about that, since you two are here. Follow me. We already found a good spot in the arts and crafts hall “ he pulled her hands towards the direction of the hall

She look at Jihyo and mouthed thanks, Jihyo smiled back at her

Most of the crew was already there when the three of them arrived. They greet her and she tried her best to respond normally. She look at their surroundings, it seems that Daniels didn’t arrived yet
