CHAPTER 13

A loud explosion took both of them by surprise. The two of them look at each other both puzzled

“what was that?” Jeongyeon asks nervously

“I don’t know, I’m sure it wasn’t a fireworks” Daniel answered back trying to think of other possibilities of the explosion, forgetting his attempt to confess

Both of them heard screams from afar, and it makes Jeongyeon more worried.

 “A-are we-“He saw panick in her eyes

“no, no we are not” Daniel cut her off because he knows that she is thinking a bad thing right now

They heard another explosion from now near on their cabins

Then saw a red flares released in the sky.

they both knew what those flares meant. They are under attack

“stay here!” Daniel instructed. “I’m going to look at it”

“No I’m going too”

“No-“

“Watch out!” Jeongyeon shouted as she tried to pull Daniel to duck. He felt something pass above them

“wha-“Daniel looked at Jeongyeon confusingly

“Tsk, I missed” Daniel heard a womans voice behind them and that makes him alarmed with the situation.

“Who are you?” A hint of irritation was came out from Daniels’ voice

The woman who is drape in black laughed, A laughed that makes his spine shivered. “look at you demigods, you look scared…” She laughed again

“how did you get in?” Daniel stepped forward in front of Jeongyeon. He knows that the woman is not a a normal human. In case of emergency, he needs to protect the girl

“oh a gentleman protecting a girl” The woman sarcastically eyed the both of them

“what are you?” Daniel heard Jeongyeon asks

“oh, now you’re curious?”

“just answer us! What the hell are you dammit! and how did you enter the camp?” Daniel yelled but the woman stays unaffected, but she laughed continuously instead then stopped

“Why don’t you guess?” the woman closed her eyes and transformed, horrible winged appeared with serpent hair and eyes that dripped with blood

“a fury?” Daniel hadn’t seen one but he sure that the woman in front of him is definitely a fury

“oh, your smart” The woman commented while smiling evilly at them

“Jeongyeon stay back” He whispered at the girl

“I wont, I could fight” Jeongyeon insisted

Daniel looked at her and he saw that she is serious

“how sweet” the fury interrupted, “ A prince protecting its princess,” Daniel could hear her sarcastic voice

“shut up!”Daniel yelled

“oh, a little bit hot headed too”the fury starting to stepped forward.

“how about you behave yourself and let me eat you  first instead” She smirked

Daniel scoffs

“what are smiling about?” The fury asks him angrily

“I guess you didn’t realize yet” Jeongyeon leered

“realize what?”

Daniel laughed at the angry fury. “she mean you didn’t realize that you’re the one in trouble right?”

“D-don’t bluff” the fury yelled as she looked at the girl behing him

“bluff? Its not a bluff but a mere fact. You are just unlucky that you chose to attack us,”

“nonse-“

Daniel summoned a body of water near them, He directed it towards the raging fury ,. The water is whirling. The fury started screaming as she felt the pain. She was screeching

“whirpool in here?” He heard Jeongyeons concerned voice.

Daniel looks at her assuringly. He knows that she is worried if this kind of power drained him just like what happened to Sangcheol

“Don’t worry I can do this much” He said. They heard the fury screamed in pain

“even though youll be able able to kill me now, I am not the only who was able to enter the camp” She screamed with pain again

Theres more?  He thought, he saw Jeongyeon looked from afar. They heard more screams right now

“T-that’s right, we there are many of us, not only furies but also minataur and empusas. We are able to breach this camp” the fury laughed. “don’t feel safe yet demigods!”

Upon hearing the furys word, Daniel snapped. “shut up!” He made the swirling of water become more stronger and the womans screechin is now louder for a long minute, then it suddenly stopped.

Daniel knows that it is already dead. He pulled back his power and look at Jeongyeon who is now looking for something

“what are you doing?”

“I am looking for a weapon”the girl answered simply

“you don’t have to fight!” He said while holding her shoulder. He worried with Jeongyeon

“I can!” Jeongyeon snapped at him stepping backward away from him. “You know I can fight Daniel!”

“But I am worried!”

“I am more worried with them! I am strong but  Jihoon is not and you know that!” He saw Jeongyeon sighs, “I can’t lose someone important again. Not now or in near future”

“I know, let me protect them…let me protect you”Daniel sincerely said

“you know I can fight, Heck I am one of the best fighter here in camp. let me fight! I don’t need to be protected ”

“no, If I have to force you to st-“

“I thought you could undertand me of all people”He heard a disappoinment on Jeongyeons voice. “but now I know that you don’t”

Jeongyeon saw a bow and arrow and picked it up

“Jeongye-“Daniel tried to convince her one more time

“I’m going! And I am not asking for your permission Daniel. This is not debatable. It is final” she said as she turned her back a him then walk towards the camp fires direction

“Fine” Daniel gave up. And and it makes the girl stopped. ” But well go together”

“we need to separate” she answered seriously

“wha-“

“it would be faster if we search separately.”

“no”

“ For God sake Daniel. This isn’t the time for us to argue. You don’t need to be overprotective now. This is war! We have people to save!”Jeongyeon responds frustratingly but there is still calmness o her voice.

He knows Jeongyeon was trying to be calm. He saw her bit her lips. He knows that she is worried, mainly towards their friends

“But promise me one thing” Daniel gave up because He knows that the girl is right.

Jeongyeon just looked at him seriously waiting for his words. “get them and come back safe… please”

Jeongyeon smiled and it is an assuring one for Daniel. “roger that!” She said as she throw a sword towards him and was able to catch it successfully.” And Daniel”

“what?” he asks as he checked the sword that she had given.

“don’t you dare die on me. Okay?” she said as she run towards the cabins direction after Daniel gave him a thumbs up

Daniel breath in and look at the girl who is now afar.

“its not that I don’t undertand you. But trust me because I don’t want you to end up like her, so please be safe and comeback to me ” He whispered and started to run in other direction

Jeongyeon run as fast as she can. She could see smokes up in the sky that she conclude that some area of the camp is burning. All camper she saw are fighting with different monsters. She heard some screaming everywhere.

Jeongyeon already fought with some monsters with herself . They are strong. That’s what she concluded after fighting some of them. She is now more getting worried with them

She stopped running when she saw a familiar figure. It is a girl who Is wearing a nice white dress but there is blood in it

“tzuyu!”She shouted as she recognized the girl

“unnie!”
