CHAPTER 16

Daniel changed his positioned comfortably for the nth time. They are currently on the plane heading to South Korea. He looked at the girl sleeping beside him. Jeongyeon has been ignoring him ever since they left the camp.

Daniel breathes and tried to get himself a sleep as he remembered their conversation earlier

“Korea? As In South Korea?!” Seongwoo exclaimed and Jisung had to elbow him just to be silent

The girl hesitated but still nodded

“are you sure that its in Korea?” Jisung asks

“yeah, I’m positive. Sungjae told me about it” Jeongyeon said as she continue to avoid his gaze

“Sungjae? Whos that?” Jihoon asks curiously

“my other guardian” She simply answered

“you have other-hmmmpff“Seongwoo reacted again but this time Jihoon cover his mouth

“Gosh! stop reacting on everything. You are so noisy” the younger hissed

Jeongyeon ignored the two. She looked at Daniel for the first time again that night “the door is somewhere in Busan” then evaded again

“oh. Then that’s better than being in unfamiliar place” Jisung positively said. “ now, how about you go now before the heads and the teachers will catch us here”

All of them agreed and getting ready.

Jisung approached him silently

“what is it hyung?” he asked

“be careful niel” concern is visible in the olders face

“hyung, when did you became a worrywart? You know I could take care f myself” He chuckled

Jisung shakes his head. “just listen to me. Be careful okay. Don’t let Jeongyeon out of your sight. Take care of her”

His laughing face became serious. “I know hyung. you know that I’ll do anything to make her safe”

Jisung sighed and gave him a small box. “take this”

“what is this?” He asks but accepted the box. He was about to open the small box but Jisungs hands stopped him

“don’t open it yet… open it if things are getting so confusing for you to understand. Okay?”

He looked at the the older curiously but still nodded

Jisung gave him a big hug and patted his wide shoulder.the older also hugged the others and that includes Jeongyeon as well

 “come back here safe okay? All of you” Jisungs voice cracked and they know that he is being emotional right now. “I want to come with you, but the camps is in a mess right now. And also, I need to be there for Woojin ang Jeonghan” and they nodded understandingly

Before they leave Jisung gave them his usual bright smile while saying. “send my regards to your father Jeongyeonnie!”

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Incheon Airport. Local time is 10pm and the temperature is 30 degrees.

For your safety and comfort, please remain seated with your seat belt fastened until the Captain turns off the Fasten Seat Belt sign. This will indicate that we have parked at the gate and that it is safe for you to move about….”

The airplanes announcement woke Daniel up. He stretches his arm and open his eyes. He looked at the girl beside him who is also now awake

“did you slept well?” Daniel brightly asked hoping that this time Jeongyeon would answer him

Jeongyeon didn’t answer but only nodded

He smiled weakly. This is enough for now, he thought. At least Jeongyeon is not totally ignoring him

“So where are we heading?” ask Jihoon while rubbing his eyes when they exited the famous Incheon airport. The younger is obviously still half asleep

Daniel saw her sighed then brought out a map that they took from the information desk earlier

“we will take a subway from here to Busa-“

“we will heading to our hotel”Daniel announced and He saw her gave him an eye which he chose to ignore. “we are going to check in there tonight”

“we’ve got no time for that, we need to travel to Busan immediately” her stern voice is starting to raise

“no we still have time Jeongyeon.” Daniel argued back, He knows that it’s not wise to argue with the girl right now but he has to do it

“for Petes sake its almost midnight! Are the two of you planning the argue the whole night!” Jihoon frustratingly yelled and that made them quiet

“like what Jihonnie said,its almost midnight and we are all tired from the attack and the trip. We all need rest”Daniel calmly explained

“as much as I want to agree with you Noona but Hyung is right. I am tired, they are tired and I’m sure you also are. We need rest or else we are not going to make it” Jihoon said who is now wide awake

“fine, lets take a rest then travel first thing in the morning tomorrow” Jeongyeon gaved in and Daniel is thankful that He don’t have to dragged her to the Hotel to rest

The trip toward the hotel is awfully silent neither of the four is the mood to break the ice.

When they arrived at the hotel, Seongwoo and Jihoon volunteered to talk to the reception. The two of them is just sitting silently in the lobby

Daniel looked at the Hotel. Judging from the size of the building and its interior,It is obviously an expensive Hotel. He wondered how the hell Seongwoo managed to book here when they have limited time

“we got our keys”Jihoon announced.He smiled back and grabbed his bag getting ready

“but we have a slight problem”Seongwoo said

“what is it?” He asks

“the thing is I originally booked two rooms but due to some system error they only manage to book one family room”

“oh that’s fine, you and I could share a room and Jihoon with Jeongyeon can also share” he suggested

“that’s the problem, Jihoon here if andamantly refusing to share a room with her” Seongwoo scratches his neck

“what?”Jeongyeon at last reacted

“I’m still mad at you Noona, that’s why I am not in the mood rooming together with you” Jihoon angrily said and Jeongyeon didn’t answered back

“well we could get another one room”Daniel suggested

“the hotel is fully booked and I doubt that the other hotels had a free one considering today was a peak season. The staff even says that we are lucky enough to be able to get the room” Seongwoo explained

“well the three of us can share” Daniel suggested

“in one bed? no offense but we are not that small to fit in there”Seongwoo replied

“well I could make use of the couch?”

“hyung it would uncomfortable right?” Jihoon looked at him, and the way the younger looked at him it seems that he is indicating something

Don’t tell me…

“how about you and Noona share a room!”Jihoon said as if it was the most brilliant idea

“what?” he exclaimed. “you can’t put me ang Jeongyeon in one room”

“but hyung, the couch would be so uncomfortable. And I know you are gentlemen enough not to take advantage of noona” Jihoon explicated

“or how about you not being a brat and share a room with Jeongyeon”Seongwoo recommended but the younger just stomp at his feet

“ouch! Jihoon you-“

“fine, Daniel and I could share a room”Jeongyeon whispered that made Seongwoo stopped from smacking the younger

Daniel looked at the girl who is now walking towards the elevator

“so problem solved now, now you can talk to her”Jihoon whispered and smiled mischievously

And all the things clicked in place. ”So that’s what you planning Jihonnie”

The three of them followed Jeongyeon in the elevator

“how did you manage to book in these expensive hotel by the way” Daniel voiced out his curiosity

“well my mom kinda own the place” the latter answered calmly

“your mother own what???” Jihoon exclaimed. “the hotel looked so expensive hyung!”

“well I did tell you my mom is rich”

“so are you going to meet her?”Daniel followed up

“well I kinda told her that we are not exactly on vacation, so she just ask me to atleast have breakfast with her?”Daniel detected unsureness in seongwoos voice. And he knows why, that because they don’t have time to do that

“go”they heard Jeongyeons voice behind them

Seongwoo no the three of them look at her, eyes widen

“did you just said…”

“I said go, meet her tomorrow. Not all of us has the chance to meet their parent again for the longest time- so go. Well depart tomorrow by 10am” Jeongyeon said as the elevator ding. She was about to go out but Seongwoo stopped her signalling that it isn’t their floor yet. Jeongyeon was about to return to the other side when suddenly-

“thank you!”Seongwoo exclaimed while hugging her

On her surprise Jeongyeon was about to smack him”yah-“

“Yah!” Daniel couldn’t control himself and grabbed the guys shirt

“ouch! Niel you may be my bestfriend but don’t grab like that!”

“like what?” He  questioned irritatingly

“acting like a jealous boyfriend!” Seongwoo fixed his shirt not realizing the word he said

“Hes not my boyfriend!”

“I’m not jealous”

Both of them almost reacted in unison

“uhhh okay… I just said “act like” not really are” Seongwoo smirked at them and Daniel suddenly has the urge to kick his bestfriend

“where are our room anyway? We almost at the topfloor!” Jeongyeon asked. Irritation is evident on her voice

“our room is actually on the topfloor” Seongwoo boasted

“you mean…”Jihoon didn’t finished his words when they heard another ding and the door opened

“You got us the penthouse!”Jihoon couldn’t help but exclaimed

“yeah, technically my mom got us this. She said this is the best room you could find here in the hotel” Seongwoo boastfully said

“this is…” Jihoon seems lost of words

“waste of money”Jeongyeon commented

“unpractical” Daniel seconded

“yah, just because we are rich and you are not doesn’t mean you can insult my familys way of showing their love” Seongwoo reacted

 “I’m turning in early. I’m tired”she announced as she enter room and left them behind.

What happened to you Jeongyeon, Daniel wanted to shout that to her but he stopped himself.

Not yet Niel, now is not the time he said as he gripped the object on the pocket of his hoodie

Jeongyeon had just finished he bath when she heard a knock on the door

“Jeongyeon are you done?” It was Daniels voice

Jeongyeon sighs and opened the door

“Can I enter?”

Jeongyeon nodded and readying herself in going into the bed

“If you are bothered on us sleeping in the same room I could sleep on the couch or in the floor-“

“I am too bothered thinking other things, I have no time to argue with this sleeping arrangement. As you said earlier, we are tired. And the last thing I want in my mind is you sleeping uncomfortably on the floor or in the couch” she responded honestly.

She saw him smile. It that makes her confuse. Why is he smiling, I jst gave him a harsh words and yet He smiled back

“I’m glad” Daniel said still smiling

Glad? Are you some kind of a masochist , Jeongyeon want to say so loud

“Youre didn’t talk to me since the whole trip you know. I’m glad that you said a word to me atlast”

And guilt hitted Jeongyeon. Daniel is right, Jeongyeon wanted to avoid him as much as possible and that includes all the talking with him. Jeongyeon is not mad. She is just worried towards the whole trip. She worried about the things that is happening around her

“jeongyeon?” Daniels voice interrupted her train of thoughts

“w-whatever, I’m going to sleep”She said and laid her tired body on the other side of the soft bed. She grabbed the blanket and cover herself including her face.

She hear him sigh. “goonight Jeongyeon” then she heard the bathroom doors closed

Jeongyeon bit her lower lip. “sorry Eugeion…” she whispered, maybe she is just tired that her conciousnes drifted apart
