The Aftermath
“I’m so happy that I met you. You, my love.”15 May 2017
“Ji Wook will look at Bong Hee longingly before falling on her shoulder, drunk.” PD-nim said, setting up the scene for Ji Chang Wook and Nam Ji Hyun. Ji Chang Wook and Nam Ji Hyun nodded quietly.
“Heol, doesn’t Ji hyun-ie look super pretty today?” PD-nim continued, hyping the actors in his usual cheerful way. Nam Ji Hyun managed a smile for PD-nim.
After the absolute failure of his confession, they were back on set. Ji Chang Wook felt like a mess. Nam Ji Hyun seemed a little more guarded and much quieter than usual. Of course, she remained the consummate professional and ran through her lines without a flaw. Ji Chang Wook, on the other hand, kept messing up his lines.
…
“Please be my person.” Ji Wook pleaded as he looked longingly at Bong Hee.
“Please be my person Ji Hyun.” Ji Chang Wook thought sadly to himself. He meant every word.
As Ji Wook fell on Bong Hee’s shoulder, drunk and dead to the world, Ji Chang Wook took the chance to take in the ever comforting scent of Nam Ji Hyun.
…
Ji Wook was lying on top of Bong Hee, staring intensely in her eyes before he was supposed to fall asleep and roll off to the side of the bed.
The usual awkwardness of such scenes with full-on bodily contact was compounded by the awkwardness from the failed confession. The two had not spoken a single word since. Ji Chang Wook gave an apologetic smile to Nam Ji Hyun who managed a small smile back at him.
