The Confession
“I’m so happy that I met you. You, my love.”13 May 2017
Ji Chang Wook and Nam Ji Hyun sat side by side on a bench along the Han river, gazing at the night lights of the city and talking.
“I like you.” Ji Chang Wook said, simply.
Nam Ji Hyun fell silent.
“I like you Nam Ji Hyun.” Ji Chang Wook repeated himself.
Nam Ji Hyun looked down on her fingers and replied softly “I know.”
“I know it is not the best timing. But I like you. And I wanted you to know.”
“Araso.”
“I don’t want to pressure you into anything. You don’t have to answer me now.”
“Araso.”
…
“Urgh! I have ruined everything!” Ji Chang Wook berated himself, replaying the night in his mind. Nam Ji Hyun had fallen absolutely silent after his confession. Things had been going so well till that point.
When they reached her apartment block, Nam Ji Hyun had gotten off the Vespa quickly and bowed respectfully at Ji Chang Wook, thanking him formally for the day.
Ji Chang Wook rode his bike into the darkness of the night.
