“What are you doing here?” BoA asked him nervously as she fidgeted with her fingers.

He shouldn’t be there. He should be at school or at home, but he shouldn’t be standing at the door of her university and with that demanding expression on his face.

“They won’t tell me what’s wrong, so I came to ask you personally. What happened to you that made mom cry so much?”  He asked looking directly at her, but she could only look down.

“BoA, tell me.” He demanded, making her shiver even if she couldn’t look at him.

But she couldn’t lie; she couldn’t lie to her brother even when she knew that the news would shock him.

“I’m…I’m pregnant.” BoA finally said with tears in her eyes, but it wasn’t his answer what made her look up as soon as she finished talking.

It was Yoochun voice.

“You what?!” He asked alarmed suddenly standing beside BoA.

“Yoochun, I…” But she couldn’t finish her words because her brother was already in front of Yoochun ready to punch his face.

“Junsu stop!” BoA shouted pulling her brother away, but the teen was furious, with an expression BoA had never seen before.

“How could you!? with him!” He kept pointing to the two people in front of him and shouting.

“Junsu, stop please.” BoA started crying and that calmed him, but the silence that was only broken by her sobs turned into another string of shouts as Yoochun started walking away.

“Yah! Stop you !” Junsu finally exploded making Yoochun stop in his tracks.

“How can you just leave after hearing she is pregnant?”  Junsu asked with a gloomy voice.

But Yoochun didn’t turn around.

“If it’s mine I’ll take responsibility. If it’s not, I have nothing to do with her anymore.”

And those words broke BoA’s heart even more.

She knew they were over but she couldn’t believe that the guy that had been so sweet to her just a couple of weeks ago, now discarded her as if she was nothing.

But she didn’t say a word as Yoochun started walking away leaving the siblings behind.

“BoA, you don’t need him.” Junsu said after a moment with his arms now around her and patting her back.

But the truth is that she did need him, she needed someone at least, because Junsu had to return home the same day and BoA had started to feel worse everyday.

It was hard for her to study and to work with the pain she felt sometimes, and more when the doctor told her that she had a risky pregnancy.

So as much as she wanted to keep her life as before, she discovered that without another’s help she wouldn’t be able to keep the baby.

And it was just a few weeks later that she was presenting her documents to drop out of school and prepared herself to return to her parents’ house.

“BoA, don’t do this.” Her friend told her, but BoA just wanted to feel loved, and her family was all she had now.

So with her bags ready she started walking away from the university.

“BoA. We need to talk.” That voice stopped her. She knew that voice very well, and even when she hadn’t hear it in weeks she knew who it belonged to.

So she followed him until they sat inside his car in silence, she not daring to look at him.

“I haven’t been able to sleep well these last weeks. I just want to know if that baby is mine or not.” Yoochun demanded lifting her face to look at him.

But BoA only scoffed pushing his hand away.

“What kind of girl do you think I am, uh?! Do you think that when I was with you I slept with other guys? Or that as soon as we broke up I went to look for another? I’m not like you, Park Yoochun!” She shouted frustrated holding her bags and ready to get out of the car.

“Wait, wait!” He said grabbing her arm and closing the car door before she could get down.

“I believe you, ok?” He said sighing. “And I will take responsibility for it.” He said seriously now looking at her teary eyes.

“You will?” She asked in confusion.

“Don’t look at me like that. I won’t marry you if that’s what you are thinking.” He finally said turning his head to the other side and not saying another word.

It was only after a long silence that BoA spoke again.

“I have to go.” And she held her bags again, but he didn’t let her.

“You are going to your parents’ house, right? I’ll take you.” He said starting the engine and driving to the house that he had visited many times.

With a silent and uncomfortable trip to the other side of the city the sun started to fade and when they arrived BoA just said a simple ‘thanks’ before she opened the door.

“If you need money for the doctor or to buy things just call me.” Yoochun said softly as he saw her stepping out of the car.

“Money is not the only thing I need.” BoA said almost like a whisper but Yoochun heard her.

“I already told you I can’t marry you.” He stated annoyed.

“I’m not asking you for that! I already dropped out of school…what will happen to my dream of becoming a designer?” She said glaring to the person inside the car.

“I can’t do anything about that.” That’s all Yoochun said and BoA sighed annoyed before slamming the car’s door and walking to the house.

Her parents received her with worried faces, but BoA only ran upstairs to the room she used before and closed the door behind her.

In there her tears started flowing and she held her stomach feeling as if she could die from sadness.

She started shaking from crying so much that she fell to the floor and her running nose and her uncontrollable tears were all she could see in the mirror in front of her.

Her heart was hurting, her stomach was hurting, and her head was hurting. She wished she had never left her town. In there she was happy. Truly happy.

So as soon as she found the strength to stand up she opened the closet doors and started searching through the boxes for that small wooden box with shinning stars around it.

“I have decided!” BoA said enthusiastically jumping in front of Jaejoong.

“You have decided what?” He asked curiously.

“I want to be a designer.” BoA said showing him her sketches.

“Not that bad.” He said looking at them with a big smile. “I want to be a manga writer.”

“What? But where do you study to do that?” BoA asked confused.

“Dunno, but I guess Japan would be a nice place to start.” He said holding her close and giving her a peck.

And those same sketches were in that wooden box, next to BoA’s picture with Jaejoong, with the beautiful farm behind them and their horses in the corner.
 

“Where are you now, uh? Why aren’t you here beside me? Why can’t you hold me like before?” She asked with new tears flowing, but only blaming herself for her situation.

Because she couldn’t turn back time.

Because she had to face reality and move forward.

But was she ready to let go of the dream she left her love for?

Was she ready to be a mother?

Was she ready to live the rest of her life with Yoochun’s shadow on her back?
