It was a good day for BoA, and her smiling face could be seen everywhere. Mrs. Lee told her she could help in the design area some days, and she looked for a place to start studying about design with Li Yin during lunch.

And as her workday ended, she walked to the elevator only to receive a glare from her blonde workmate.

She barely noticed it and didn’t care as she happily went to say goodbye to Li Yin. 

But when she found the girl she was giggling looking at the door.

BoA looked at her with a questioning look when Li Yin answered before being asked.

“There is a guy waiting for you.”

BoA sighed and walked to the door.

She knew Li Yin found Yoochun attractive and acted like that because she didn’t know he was her ex-boyfriend, but BoA was going to make sure to clear this situation.

“I’m going to kill Yoochun.” She muttered before she saw who was waiting for her.

“Jaejoong-ah” BoA said happily.

“Hey, I ended work early and came to pick you up.”

BoA raised an eyebrow. “Junsu told you where I work?”

“Yeah…” Jaejoong said smiling sheepishly.

BoA smiled back remembering how Junsu was so eager for them to be together again.

“Let’s go then.” She said passing by him as she started walking.

But when they arrived to the school, the other mothers looked at them with surprised faces.

Jaejoong stood beside BoA feeling uncomfortable with the curious stares.

“They are wondering who you are since I always come alone and Yoobin’s father never comes to any school meeting.”

“So he never comes?” Jaejoong asked even when he felt annoyed about the subject, but because BoA wasn’t giving him any information about the other guy, he wanted to know how close they were at the moment.

“He works until night and I live with Yoobin, so it’s easier for both of us.” BoA explained looking for her daughter in the bunch of kids that were now going through the main door.

“Mommy~!” Yoobin jumped into her mother’s arms with a smile on her face, but it disappeared as soon as she saw Jaejoong by BoA’s side.

“Who is he?” She asked confused.

“Oh~ He is Jaejoong. My friend. Say hello, Yoobin.” BoA said naturally, and that somehow hurt Jaejoong.

Yoobin looked at him more intensely before frowning.

“He is the guy in the picture…” She said with an annoyed tone.

“Yes, he is…” BoA said with a shy smile knowing that Yoobin remembered him from the picture.

“I don’t like him.” Yoobin said seriously as she turned her back at him.

BoA widened her eyes and smiled apologetically at Jaejoong.

“She isn’t normally like that.” She said to Jaejoong as she tried to turn Yoobin so she could see him again.

Jaejoong nodded and smiled a bit, but on the inside he realized that getting close to Yoobin was going to be harder than he thought.

And after the awkward moment, they finally started walking to BoA’s house.

“How was your day? What did you do at school?” BoA asked smiling at her daughter; but Yoobin didn’t answer and from that moment the way back to BoA’s house was silent.

When they entered the house Yoobin went upstairs directly and Jaejoong stood at the living room awkwardly.

BoA patted his shoulder looking at him apologetically and biting her lip.

“She doesn’t like me at all.” Jaejoong said with a saddening tone.

“No, it’s not like that. It’s just that…” BoA started saying trying to sound cheerful.

“That I am not her father…” Jaejoong finished her sentence with a sad smile.

BoA looked down not wanting to see him like that.

“This situation has never been easy for her…”

“Maybe I should go now…” Jaejoong said after a moment of silence.

“No, don’t go. I’ll cook something really fast. Please stay.” BoA said with a pleading tone looking at him.

She was fully aware things with Yoobin weren’t going smoothly, but for Jaejoong to leave like that wasn’t fair. She had told Yoobin they were friends and it was the truth.

“Watch T.V if you want.” BoA said before disappearing into the kitchen.

Jaejoong sighed and sat on the couch and was about to turn on the T.V when Yoobin appeared in the stairs.

“Mom, can I eat the candies that are in my room?” She asked with the candies in her hand.

“You can eat one after dinner.” BoA answered form the kitchen and Jaejoong couldn’t help but smile when he saw Yoobin pouting.

He knew from the moment he met the little girl that she looked more like her father even when he had only seen him once, but her pout was just like BoA’s.

He was about to turn on the T.V again when he felt Yoobin sitting at the end of the same couch he was sitting on.

Yoobin frowned at him and started to read a book which had an elephant at the cover page.

Jaejoong smiled but didn’t say a word since he knew she wasn’t up for a conversation with him.

He never the T.V afraid of disturbing Yoobin and instead he started looking from his place all around the living room and then checked his email on his phone. He organized his schedule after that and when he had nothing more to check related to his work, he decided to play the games the phone had.

Yoobin seemed distracted from the funny sounds the device was emitting as the game went on and mostly because of Jaejoong’s face that was really into the game.

He was so focused on it that he didn’t notice Yoobin was just next to him until she spoke.

“Can I play too?” She asked softly and he smiled at her before handing the phone to her small hand.

She laughed a bit as she started playing and Jaejoong felt happy that she was acting like that.

So when BoA went to the living room to announce the food was ready she saw a beautiful picture of Jaejoong and Yoobin sitting on the couch smiling.

“Dinner is ready.” BoA said smiling and Yoobin jumped from the couch, after returning the phone to Jaejoong, and ran to the dinning room.

In there, the dinner was mainly occupied by Jaejoong talking about his trip to Busan, teasing BoA about her cooking skills and some other funny anecdotes, but Yoobin didn’t smile at all.

And as they were about to finish their dinner, BoA’s house phone rang and Boa went to the living room to answer before calling Yoobin to join her there.

The little girl jumped from her chair and ran to her mother’s side.

“Daddy~!!!” Yoobin shouted happily when she heard the voice over the other end and Jaejoong knew more than ever that to win Yoobin’s heart was going to be the hardest part of returning to BoA’s side.

But why wasn’t he considering Yoochun as a rival?

Was Yoobin willing to open her heart to Jaejoong?

Was this moment the new turning point in BoA’s life?
