“BoA, stop crying.” Yoochun said softly when the car stopped moving.

He had watched as her tears rolled down her cheeks from the park to her house and even in that short amount of time, he felt sorry for her.

He hadn’t seen her cry like that since the moment he heard her saying she was pregnant.

 
“BoA…” He called her again and she turned to look at him biting her lip.

“I know I was irresponsible! I know that! But don’t start bothering me now Yoochun…I was the one that gave up my career and my life for that kid when you were still partying in the university.” BoA said as she wiped her tears.

“You…” Yoochun started saying but BoA had already opened the car’s door and was getting out hurriedly.

She got out and started walking to her house’s door when she stopped.

Yoochun stayed with the same shocked expression as she turned to look at him again.

“If you are so worried about her, you should help me take care of her…and not only in the weekends.” BoA finished and entered her house with new tears falling.

Yoochun remained sitting in his car for a moment before turning on the engine again.

What had happened was something his mind was only registering now.

The anger he felt as he watched BoA with that other guy was something that flowed naturally from him.

Because as he looked directly at the other guy he recognized that face…it was the guy in the picture.

That ghost that he had tried to make disappear.

That ghost that even after so many years could make BoA smile so much, while he could only make her cry.

But then Yoobin’s sleeping face appeared in his mind and he hit the steering wheel with his fist as he remembered BoA’s words.

It was the truth.

BoA gave up everything for Yoobin.

But he was so selfish and let his own hurt get in the way, pushing BoA away when in reality he just wanted her by his side.

And now it seemed too late, because that other guy had returned.

But what if he left again?

But Jaejoong wasn’t planning on leaving.

Not even from that park where he was left alone.

He just sat on the same bench BoA and he had been laughing a moment ago at and sighed.

He hadn’t been able to ask her about Yoobin’s father, but after what he saw and the way BoA reacted, it seemed that they were still closer to each other.

And that worried him…

But what worried Jaejoong the most were BoA’s tears.

Why was she about to cry when she turned to look at him?

Was she going to stop seeing him?

But BoA didn’t want that.

She wanted to see Jaejoong and talk to him. She wanted to explain, but she didn’t know where to start.

Things had turned more complicated now that Yoochun saw her and Jaejoong together.

And for certain he was going to ask Yoobin about it and her daughter was going to be angry again.

“Yoobinnie…” BoA said as she caressed her daughter’s head.

“I’m sorry…” she started crying again and in her sobs she could only repeat those same words.

BoA hugged her daughter tenderly and covered them both with the blanket before she started talking again.

“I’m sorry I haven’t given you the happy family you wanted to have and that you deserve…. Your father and I were not happy together…but for you…maybe I…I…”

And she just let her tears fall once again before she felt asleep with her daughter in her arms.

The next morning BoA couldn’t stop looking at her face in the mirror. Her eyes were swollen from crying so much and Yoobin was still clueless about the reason.

“Mom, you look like a frog.” Yoobin said pointing to her book that had a frog in it as her mother gasped and ran to her tickling her daughter in the stomach.

After breakfast BoA took Yoobin to school smiling all the way as her hand held Yoobin’s.

“You know I love you, right? I just want you to be happy.” BoA said as she bent down to hug her daughter.

The little girl smiled and returned the hug before kissing her mother’s cheek.

She was still clueless about the events from the night before and BoA was happy that it was that way.

She knew that Yoochun and she weren’t the best parents but she didn’t want to disappoint her daughter anymore.

And that thought was in her mind the entire day as she kept working hard trying to balance the time in the office and helping in the design team. She wanted to be better, to show her daughter she could do better.

But at the same time focusing on that thought didn’t give her the opportunity to think about what she was going to say to Jaejoong, the guy that now stood at the door of her workplace.

“Can we go and drink some coffee?” He asked with a small smile before BoA could say something.

She was about to reject him by saying she was late to pick up Yoobin, but she didn’t want to lie to him or avoid the situation.

“I’m sorry about yesterday.” BoA said holding her cup tightly.

“I’m just glad you aren’t avoiding me or something. I shouldn’t have asked you to come with me.” Jaejoong said softly.

Because after thinking for a while sitting in the same bench in the park, he had realized that his selfish thoughts were appearing again and that in reality it was partially his fault that BoA left her daughter alone.

BoA sighed and continued drinking her coffee.

“It’s ok…it was my fault. I am the one responsible for her and you just wanted to spend some time with me…..like now…..but I have to go pick up Yoobin… I’m sorry that things aren’t as easy as before.” BoA said, her last words almost like whisper.

She stood up and waved a goodbye to Jaejoong not wanting to talk any further, but he also stood up and held her hand.

“I’ll accompany you. I’ll leave before Yoobin can see me. I know things aren’t as before and I’m not asking you for that, but I promised to support you, and here I am.” Jaejoong said with conviction as he started to think deeper about their situation.

He wished there was someone he could talk to apart from Junsu about this. Someone who didn’t know BoA or Junsu, he wished to meet one of his Japanese friends once again.

But for the moment he could only think about BoA’s hand that was so near his as they walked to the bus stop.

Jaejoong smiled remembering the old times when he realized he liked BoA and he was really nervous by the thought of holding her hand; and now it was so easy for him to hold it, but at the same time it felt so different since they were not a couple.

“Are you cold?” Teenage Jaejoong asked BoA as they walked to school during a winter day side by side.

“Not really, but my hands are cold…” BoA said putting her hands inside her jacket pockets.

Jaejoong smiled awkwardly as he put his hands back inside his pant pockets not knowing what to do as his original plan was to hold hers to make them warm.

And Jaejoong‘s smile grew remembering that as he saw BoA putting her hands in her coat pockets now near Yoobin’s school door.

“BoA…” He started saying with his happy face, but his expression vanished when he saw BoA’s little girl in her father’s arms.

Yoochun frowned when he saw them, because this time he could see Jaejoong’s face clearly.

The way he stood by BoA’s side with the same smile he had in the picture only annoyed him more.

So what was going to happen now that the four of them met?

Was Yoochun going to take care of Yoobin now?

Was BoA being too cold to Jaejoong?
