Growing up with you
It’s just the same storyBoA woke up really early and looked at Yoobin sleeping by her side.
She gave her daughter a small kiss on the forehead before she went down to prepare the breakfast.
It had been a while since she cooked for her parents and she was happy to know they were able to eat together again.
But as she opened the curtains of the front windows she saw Jaejoong outside the house smiling at her.
“Jae, what are you doing here?” She asked with a smile.
“I came to say good morning and invited you for a ride.” He said pointing to the stable with a smile.
BoA sighed looking at the kitchen and that she hadn’t got to cook at all, but she still accepted.
They rode the horses around the field laughing and BoA felt free and happy.
But when they finally decided to return to her house BoA was shocked to feel Jaejoong hand holding hers.
He looked at her warmly but didn’t say a word until they reached the door.
She was quiet too feeling nervous and excited at the same time, it had been a long time since they could be like that without worrying about the circumstances.
“BoA…” He called her and when she turned to look at him he gave her a small kiss on the lips.
BoA took a step back surprised, but he only gave her a small smile.
“Like the old times…” He said softly putting his forehead against her.
And BoA smiled at him.
She had really missed him, she had missed being with him.
And she did want to be with him now, but she wanted Yoobin to accept him too.
So after she opened the door she invited him in, telling him to help her make for breakfast without realizing her entire family was already awake and eating.
Jaejoong laughed at the scene being followed by Junsu when he saw BoA’s embarrassed face.
But Yoobin only looked in silence watching her mom blushing face, but realizing she had never seen her smile that happily in a long time.
Maybe Jaejoong wasn’t that bad after all, noticing how her uncle and grandparents liked him.
And the trip to their farm ended like that, with many happy memories even for Yoobin who learnt from Jaejoong many things about horses.
After that another week passed by before Yoochun returned from Germany, but as soon as he appeared at BoA’s door Yoobin jumped to his arms and hugged him tightly.
He had really missed her and the little kid didn’t want more than to spend time with her dad.
BoA gave the other a little smile and let her daughter stay with Yoochun for the night so he could take her to school the next day.
BoA knew that even when during their time at her hometown Jaejoong have tried to approach Yoobin, those were baby steps in comparison to the relationship she had with her dad.
But things got tense between them when a sudden visitor appeared at Yoochun’s house.
It was one of his old girlfriends and she didn’t want to accept a no for an answer.
Yoochun finally made her leave, but when he turned around he found his daughter with a disappointed look.
She had always believed his dad wasn’t a bad guy.
He wanted to believe her parents could be together again.
But then what about that girl?
“Do you love mom?” Yoobin suddenly asked her father, surprising Yoochun.
“I do…” Yoochun said noticing how his daughter seemed to judge him with her eyes.
“You are a liar…” She said softly now looking at the floor. “There is this girl and other girl…”
Yoochun sighed; he wasn’t really expecting his daughter to talk to him about that.
“Mom was sad being alone, I wanted you to be with her, but now she is happy with him…I want you to be happy too!” She said the last part almost shouting, but tears were starting to fall down her cheeks.
And Yoochun hugged his daughter knowing it must have been hard for her to endure the past years knowing how bad his relationship was with BoA.
And he kept rubbing the kid’s back her started thinking about her words.
He thought he would be happy if he tried to be with BoA, but if things turned like before and she didn’t really love him, would he be happy?
What was what make him happy?
With those thoughts he looked down and he found it there.
He had his happiness in his arms.
And Yoochun didn’t want to let go of that happiness, and had decided to ignore BoA for the next couple of weeks after he discovered he had to go to Germany for a year.
He had done a good deal and needed to stay there to finish dealing with their German partners.
And he was planning to take Yoobin with him.
“No, you won’t.” BoA said firmly as she glared at Yoochun.
She was glad Junsu was with Yoobin at her house while she was at Yoochun’s house.
“Aren’t you dating that guy now? You won’t have time for Yoobin!” Yoochun said.
And BoA couldn’t believe it.
She wasn’t going to let Yoobin go and knowing Yoochun lifestyle she was even more reluctant.
And another fight started, in which BoA’s tears were falling and Yoochun’s fist had hit the wall a couple of times.
But without knowing how they had end up kissing on the couch.
Her tears didn’t stop and he didn’t want to open his eyes.
Their relationship was a mess and they knew it, but it was their daughter who was at stake.
“You’ll never be mine again, won’t you?” Yoochun said softly with his hands at each side of her face cleaning her tear traces.
“If you had asked me that question years ago I would have probably tried to, but now it’s too late.” She said honestly and he sighed.
“Then I’ll stop…” He said standing up.
And BoA looked at him in shock before looking down.
“I’m sorry…” She said after a moment of silence.
She had been so mad at him for years that she never got to say those words.
She knew he at least deserved that apology because BoA knew that deep in her heart she had used him to forget Jaejoong, and she knew Yoochun always tried his best when they were together to make her love him.
“I’m sorry too…” Yoochun said sighing. “About Yoobin…If I stay longer I’ll come to take her during vacations like I promised.”
And BoA nodded giving him a small smile.
Finally they were growing up.
Even after all those years together and even after having Yoobin they were still like those young college students that met at the basketball court.
And BoA was glad they finally got to admit they were at fault and from now on they would try to do better.
“I’ll take you to your house…” Yoochun said softly and BoA stood up walking after him in silence.
And on the ride home they had an actual conversation about their jobs, trying to avoid the subjects about the girls Yoochun had dated or Jaejoong.
And Yoobin was more than happy to have dinner with both of her parents and don’t see them fight.
But was that the end of their problems?
What about Jaejoong?
And what would Yoobin say about her father leaving?
