Expect the unexpected
It’s just the same storyBoA couldn’t believe it. She had lost her phone somewhere on her way to pick up Yoobin from school and she couldn’t remember what Mrs. Lee told her to bring the next day.
“Mommy, are you alright?” Yoobin asked blinking her eyes. Her mother looked desperate taking all her things out of her purse hoping the phone would magically appear there.
“Yeah, Yoobinie, don’t worry…” BoA answered without looking up until the doorbell rang.
Yoobin ran to the front window and jumped excitedly when she saw who was at the door.
BoA followed her daughter slowly hoping Yoobin’s excited face didn’t mean it was her father.
“Uncle Suuuuuuuu~!” Yoobin jumped into her uncle’s arms giggling.
“Yoobiniee~~~!” He answered in the same cute way hugging the little girl.
“Hi Su.” BoA said with a monotone voice before she returned to look inside her purse.
“Hi, you too….” Junsu said raising an eyebrow as he inspected his sister before he put Yoobin back on the floor.
“Your younger brother has been missing for two days and you seem soooo worried about him.” He said in a dramatic tone, but BoA just nodded absentminded.
“Yah, noona~!” He finally shouted making BoA look up to him. “You seem so stressed out, let’s go to the park.” He finished as he pulled his sister to the door.
And before BoA could complain, the three of them were at the park a few blocks away and Yoobin’s soccer ball was rolling all over the grass.
There BoA had no other option but to sit resting her back on a tree as Junsu played with Yoobin.
She looked at them with a smile on her face because both of them were her treasures.
And as she closed her eyes feeling the afternoon wind she accepted that Junsu was right; she was too stressed out.
“BoA!” Junsu’s high pitched voice made her open her eyes.
“See? You need to sleep more or you will be sleeping everywhere.” He said with a fatherly tone.
BoA smiled at him and ruffled his hair. “Don’t talk to me like that kid.”
Junsu pouted but still sat beside her as both of them watched Yoobin play with another little girl.
It was silent for a moment before Junsu rested his head on BoA’s shoulder.
“I talked with Jaejoong hyung…” He said softly and BoA sighed knowing what that conversation was about.
“Everything is so complicated.” She simply said.
“I don’t think things need to be so complicated….Jaejoong hyung wants to meet you. You could just meet him and tell him honestly what you think and feel.”
“Junsu, it’s just that…”
“Uncle Su~! Please push me in the swings~!” Yoobin’s voice sounded loudly in the park.
“Think about it.” Junsu said smiling before he ran to his niece‘s side.
BoA sighed but still looked at her two treasures.
And in their figures she saw herself and Jaejoong in those winter days in the farm when they ran through the fields covered in snow, laughing like there was no tomorrow.
But now things were different.
So when she arrived home and after Yoobin was finally asleep BoA went to her room and opened her nightstand drawer.
In there, the picture she had with Jaejoong rested gracefully over some books.
BoA looked at it for a long time thinking about all the things that had happened over the years and she only reached the conclusion she was already fully aware of. She loved her daughter and wasn’t going to change her for anything. And if there was a chance of her being with Jaejoong, he would have to accept that fact.
It was true that BoA wasn’t expecting to be a mother so soon and even more after her trust for Yoochun was broken, but even so she was a happy person because of her baby girl.
She just wished things in the adult world she was living now were easier for her to deal with and that her decisions wouldn’t hurt her daughter like she knew they did in the past.
So she just walked down to the living room and put her and Jaejoong’s picture in the same place as before with a new frame hoping for it to be a new beginning.
Because she was aware she had to grow up.
It was the perfect opportunity for her to do what she planned to do.
She had to study and be an example to her daughter.
She had to make things clear with her past and if Jaejoong wanted to be in her future, as a friend or something more, he had to know her thoughts and accept her daughter.
She wasn’t going to take less than that, because it was enough dealing with Yoochun.
And she smiled with determination on her face.
Tomorrow was going to be another day and she was going to make sure it was better than the one she just left behind.
……………………………………………………………………………………………
The next morning BoA left for work smiling.
Yoochun had called her house in the morning to greet Yoobin but in the process he unintentionally made BoA remember the files she had to give Mrs. Lee, making her thank him happily even when he tried to annoy her again after that.
She entered the building humming a song when a young lady approached her.
BoA didn’t recognize her, but she introduced herself before she could ask.
“I’m Zhang Li Yin, the new recepcionist.” She said with a bright smile.
BoA smiled back before she gasped when she saw the object in Li Yin’s hand.
“You dropped your phone yesterday on your way out, but I couldn’t reach you to give it back.” She said with a polite tone but BoA hugged her in joy thanking her loudly calling the attention of the other people entering.
“I’ll be here in lunch time, let’s go eat together.” BoA said running to the elevator with a smile on her face glad to find a new friend at her work.
And she was more than sure about that as the lunch time passed by. Li Yin had so many things to tell. She was from China and on her way to Korea many interesting things had happened to her. And even though the younger girl was shocked to know about BoA’s daughter she expressed her wishes of meeting Yoobin.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
It was a great day for BoA. Things were going good at work and she just wanted to pick up her daughter from school and spend a joyful time with her. And the sole idea made her smile.
But her expression changed when she saw the face of the blonde girl who worked with her as the elevator’s doors opened.
The girl walked angrily to her desk and grabbed some papers before returning to the where BoA stood confusedly.
“There’s a guy waiting for you outside.” The blonde said with jealously in her voice as she passed by BoA almost pushing her.
Both of them entered the elevator and as it went down BoA bit her lip.
A guy waiting for her?
Could it be Jaejoong?
Junsu said he wanted to meet her and obviously Junsu would tell him her workplace.
Ideas kept invading BoA’s brain when the doors opened and she walked slowly to the main door after waving a goodbye to Li Yin who giggled as she pointed to the door.
But the person outside wasn’t the one BoA was expecting, and Yoochun’s car was the one parked at the front door with said man smirking at her.
The girls that passed by and the ones leaving the building started murmuring and giggling as they saw him, but BoA only sighed annoyed.
He was handsome; she wasn’t going to deny that, but she thought that if they only knew how difficult it was to deal with him they would just walk away. For her at least this was true.
“BoA, hurry up. We have to pick up Yoobin.” He said with the smirk still on his face as he grabbed BoA’s hand as if it was a normal thing.
And as much as BoA wanted to pull back, Yoochun was stronger and she ended sitting on the passenger’s seat with a frown on her face.
“Don’t come to my workplace again.” BoA said with a serious tone before turning to look at the window trying to find the happiness she had been feeling all day.
What she didn’t know was that Jaejoong was at his work smiling as he read her address over and over again.
He had decided that if he wanted things to begin well he had to talk to her face to face, so after finishing his report he was going to see her at her house.
But was the timing correct for them?
What would Jaejoong do if he finds ‘the happy family’ eating dinner together at BoA’s place?
What would happen when Yoochun finally sees Jaejoong in person?
