Youngmin's POV

"Well done Youngmin and Donghyun, you can have a vacation for two nights and three days now. Stay safe, remember to take care of yourselves and I'll see you a few days later. Yes?" Rhymer said, as my eyes began to sparkle brightly at the word 'vacation'.

Donghyun and I eagerly nodded and as soon as we got out of the room, we high fived each other out of happiness.

It was the day after the last episode of Produce 101 Season 2, and our CEO had given us a short break to rest and catch up with everyone after completing our appearances of the program.

"Hyung, where will you be going?" Donghyun asked, full of smiles.

"I'll probably be going back to Busan, catch up with my family and sleep a lot." I replied, and Donghyun nodded in approval as he said that he would also be going to his hometown.

"Well I'll see you in a few days Donghyun, always be careful and take care of your health during the vacation!" I waved good bye and walked away, beginning to hum with happiness at the thought of going back home.

"Welcome back Youngmin!!"

I was startled by the many voices which greeted me all at once, and looked around to see my family and my hometown friends all standing in front of my house with banners and balloons, ready to welcome me with warmth.

I smiled at the kind gesture and began to pull everyone into my embrace one by one. I managed to get through my two parents and even my two brothers who I usually don't hug, and all of my friends, excluding the last person.

"Ahyun~" I called to the last person, the petite girl who was standing a few metres away from me.

I rushed towards her and pulled her into my embrace, as some of my friends began to whistle.

"What was that for?" I asked as I let go of Ahyun, shooting slight glares to my friends.

Everyone else laughed and snickered, but told me that it was nothing and changed the topic right away. I shrugged and pretended to not care, but inside I noticed my heart beginning to thump quickly. Were my friends trying to make it obvious to Ahyun that I've had a crush on her for more than 2 years?

"Aye, so you got to meet I.O.I on the final episode??" "Who was the prettiest?" "Did you get to exchange numbers with them?" "Do you have photos?" "What about BoA?" "And Yumi and Cheetah and Kahi!" "And you even saw Hyuna in real life as well right?" "Who was the closest to your ideal type?"

I was bombarded with questions especially about female idols, and I could feel myself heating up at their never-ending curiosity. I was finally able to change the topic after saying that they were all pretty but I didn't get the chance to interact much with them.

Soon, everyone except for Ahyun left, as she lived just next door and my mum had offered her to eat dinner with us.

The atmosphere was quite silent as we hadn't seen each other for at least six months, and I could feel the awkwardness everywhere in the living room.

"So... how was life?" I asked while trying to clear up the awkward air.

"Were they really pretty?" was the reply I got back, making me confused.

"Hmm?"

"The female idols that you got to meet through the past few months... They were really pretty right?" she asked.

"Uh yeah I guess, they were cool. They really seemed professional." I replied, but was still confused on the inside as to why she was suddenly bringing this topic up again.

I saw Ahyun's face dropping as she began to pout while looking at the floor, and although I had no idea why she was acting like that, I couldn't help but burst into laughter at the cute sight. 

She sent me a short glare, but went back to pouting.

"Lucky them.." I heard her mutter.

"Hm, what was that Ahyun?" I asked, as she seemed startled by my question.

"I said.. nothing. Nothing!"

I was about to reply back, when my phone buzzed in my pocket. I took it out, to see a message from one of my friends.

'Ahyun likes you too'

I couldn't help but smile again, and everything began to fit like a puzzle. The reason why she was pouting when I was talking about other girls, and the reason why she was being awkward for the whole day. An idea suddenly popped into my head, so I began to talk again.

"Ahyun, I'm going to be making a debut as a unit with Donghyun later. We're working on the songs right now, actually. Would you like to hear a little bit?"

"Am I.. allowed to?" she asked.

I gave her a nod of assurance and sat closer to her, taking my phone out and pressing play on one of the audio files. It was 'I Just Do', composed by Donghyun himself.

Soon it was time for my rap, and I began to rap along to the music while looking at Ahyun in the eyes.

I stopped the music as soon as my rap finished, and asked, "So, what do you think?"

"Wow it's really good! I really like the melody, and the vocals, and the rap as well! I think the whole song is really perfect and I-"

"That's a lot of compliment for the song hahah, Donghyun composed it actually. But my question wasn't about the song. What I really meant was, what do you think about me, Ahyun?"

I could see blush creeping up her cheeks immediately as she froze in her spot, not being able to make eye contact with me. She turned her face to the left while trying to hide her face, and I moved my face in front of hers to make her look at me. She grabbed her hair and covered her face, trying her best to avoid me as I laughed and moved my face away from hers.

"Kim Ahyun I'm waiting for your answer~ No time for push and pull, I'll be leaving in two more days you know that right?" I said, teasing her.

"You're mean." she muttered.

"I guess your ideal type is a person who's mean then." I said while pulling her more towards me.
