Seokmin is hiding on top of the roof so he doesn't have to take care of the freshman reps. Being a sophomore rep is much more troublesome than he planned. The female reps of the freshman wouldn't stop badgering him. No means no. Having a nibble on chocolate calms his nerve down. 

"AHHHHHH!"

Seokmin's much-needed tranquility is interrupted by yet another freshman. However, this time, it's a boy. "Hey, freshman! Calm down, would ya?"

Seungkwan looks a little embarrassed because he thoughts he was the only one up here. Apparently, he forgot to check before letting out his frustration. "S-Sorry."

"What's wrong?" The engineering major sophomore asks. He crunches up the chocolate wrapper and threw it in the trash. Seokmin felt a little bad about his tone of voice when he saw that the freshman was crying. He didn't mean for it to sound that mean. 

"Sorry."

"No need to apologize," The sophomore shrugged. "It's always better to let things out rather keeping them bottled in. My obsession with chocolate had been discovered, by an angry freshman no less."

Seungkwan didn't sense the joking tone and took the joke seriously. "Sorry, hyung. It's my fault. I'll leave you alone."

"It's ok," Seokmin sighed. "I'm done anyway. You stay and calm down whatever it is that made you upset."

"No need for that hyung. You came here before me."

"I say stay so stay. Don't argue with me, freshie. I can tell you need to be alone."

"Ok, hyung."

"You're... Seungkwan right? The male rep of biology?" The sophomore walks toward Seungkwan.

"Yes hyung."

"I'm Seokmin." After the introduction, Seokmin turns around to head for the door, only to see Vernon walking toward the two of them. "Oh Vernon, what's up?"

"Hey, short kid, what are you doing here?" Vernon acknowledges Seokmin and immediately go after Seungkwan. "You still have some photo shoot. You know this kid, Seokmin? Don't tell me you're..."

"I saw him really bummed out so I just kept him company," Seokmin scoffs light. 

"Why don't you just jump from the roof? Maybe it'll help you," Vernon's scoff was very audible in contrast to Seokmin's.

Seungkwan's feeling was extremely hurt by those words, whether or not Vernon truly meant it. However, Seokmin is here this time to come to Seungkwan's rescue. "Vernon, not cool man. Stop doing this to the freshman."

"Wonwoo and Hoshi are gonna go out for drinks tonight, you coming?" Vernon changes the subject, knowing he gone too far this time.

"Of course," Seokmin laughs. "I'll prove you medicine junkies have low tolerance once and for all."

"You're good at that aren't you?" Vernon smirks. His expression changed to stern as he looked back at the awkward freshman who just stands there. "What are you upset about? Your parents cut off your allowance?"

"None of your business!"

"Or maybe your boyfriend went to some other girls."

"Huh?" 

"Isn't Mingyu your boyfriend?" Vernon raised an eyebrow. 

"We're not!" Seungkwan retorted. "And I'm not gay."

"Whatever," The sophomore rep rolled his eyes. "Then, what's wrong with your life? Everyone is already prepared for the photo shoot. You think you're some idol prepping for a movie?"

Seungkwan was speechless. Somehow, Vernon hurts the freshman's feeling more than he already had. Since he has nothing else to say, Seungkwan took out his wallet from his right pant's pocket to get out the same amount of money that t would take to buy a frozen pink milk tea. He held the money straight toward Vernon, who just look at it confused. 

"The money for the tea," Seungkwan said almost emotionless.

"Don't like free stuff?" Vernon challenged the freshman. 

"No, it's not that I don't like free stuff," The freshman answered. 

"Then what is it?"

"I don't like owing anyone anything."

"Everyone, including you, drank already. Stop complaining."

"I don't want to be like the other people," Seungkwan pushes the money further. 

"You're such a weirdo," Vernon scoffed, still not accepting the money. "Don't be a drama queen and just go to the photoshoot."

The two of them forgot about Seokmin, who just stand there awkwardly. The sophomore from the engineering department watched the whole interaction with complete interest. The two in from of him is like cat and mouse. 

"Just take the money!" Seungkwan pushed the money toward Vernon again.

"Go buy popsicles with that," Vernon pushed the money back. "You're special now, happy? Pretend I bought you a snack instead of drinks."

Although Seungkwan is still unsatisfied, he kept it to himself and didn't verbalize his internal turmoil. 

"When you finish whining, come inside and finish your damn photo shoot," Vernon said for the last time before heading back inside. 

Seokmin silently laughs to himself. He had never seen anyone piss off Vernon before. the freshman seems to have an effect on the "stone face" sophomore Seokmin once knew. "Why are you acting so weird? Vernon could have punched you."

"Alright, Mingyu, Lisa, you're up," The photographer called the next couple up for the photo shoot. 

After the whole scene, Seokim manages to convince Seungkwan back to the photo shoot area and get the boy to make up. While the sophomore watched the whole photoshoot from far away, Vernon has the best seat for the whole thing, even though he pays attention to his phone more. Of course, that is until the photographer called on Seungkwan's name. 

"Don't move and smile," The photographer counted down. "I... 2... 3... Good good good. Next!"

Seungkwan got off and walked to the sideline where Mingyu is waiting. The taller male pulls Seungkwan to his side and held him close. From other people point of view, Seungkwan and Mingyu genuinely look like a couple. Vernon, especially, notices the whispering and laughing they do with each other.

It also didn't help that Seungkwan is inviting Mingyu out for ice cream after the photo shoot. The two of them ditch the other reps and went to the convenience store near the school. Seungkwan "suddenly" has the urge to eat ice cream out of nowhere. He got a chocolate popsicle while Mingyu got a two-sticks mango popsicle.

"You know, just because you treated me to ice cream doesn't mean you are gonna top tonight," Mingyu teased his best friend. "You even spend your own money? Moreover, popsicles? Wouldn't ice cream cone be more like you?"

"None of your business," Seungkwan couldn't stop smiling as he stares at his ice cream. 

Mingyu was stunned by the fact that Seungkwan completely overlooks the gay joke. Usually, he would get a smack or at least, a kick in the shin. 

That night, Seungkwan found himself staying up later than he intended. By no mean is the reason that Sonne, the girl next door, isn't home yet. The image of her with Vernon is imprinting in his brain for some reason. Seungkwan convinced himself that he doesn't care what those two possibly do but his sub-conscience forced him to stay up. It's not his fault. 

The only problem is Seungkwan couldn't sit still and read his manga. His mind kept on creeping toward the door. After giving in to his curiosity, Seungkwan tiptoes toward the door and peeks outside. The hall is empty, just as his rational side of the brain had said. Seungkwan adjusted his giant reading glasses and he looks around the hall. Once he's satisfied, Seungkwan goes back into his room and sat down to read his manga. 

RING! The phone rings as Seungkwan got two pages into the new volume. "Mingyu?"

"Wanna hang out? There's a bakery near my dorm."

"Sure, I got nothing to do by myself in my dorm."

"My friend from the engineering department will also be there by the way," Mingyu added in. 

"Yeah, I need new friends that are not you and people from my department," Seungkwan replied.

"Want me to pick you up?"

"No, I can get there myself."

Seungkwan twirls around his room to get ready. After putting away all the manga on the table, he puts on a presentable outfit. Then, he busted out the door, almost forgot to lock the door. When he skips downstair, Seungkwan rushes pass another student.

Suddenly, he got smack on his neck. "!"

" is right," The other student said as-a-matter-of-fact. "You're gonna fall by running down the stairs like that. And the smacking is for not saying hi to your senior from high school."

"Oh?" Seungkwan looks at the older male closer. "Umm... Wonwoo hyung!"

"Got it right the first time," Wonwoo ruffles the boy's hair. 

Back in high school, Vernon is considered the hottest guy in school. The second in command is Wonwoo. While Vernon is the number one hottest guy, Wonwoo is the coolest with his cold mysterious attitude. He's very observant and good with memories so it wasn't a surprise when Wonwoo recognized Seungkwan.

Wonwoo grabs Seungkwan's shoulder as a friendly gesture but the younger boy flinched. "Don't be afraid. I was just kidding! What department are you in, Seungkwan?"

"Biology," Seungkwan answered.

"Look so handsome now," The pale boy commented. "Must have all the female chasing you."

"I look the same," The freshman laughs. "Aren't we all like this?"

Wonwoo laughs along. "Did you know the other hyungs also live here? Remember Vernon? If you bump into him, he'll help you with anything. He a nice guy and likes to help out the underclassman."

Seungkwan mentally scoffs. If what Wonwoo hyung say is true then Vernon is outright bullying him specifically. However, Seungkwan kept his thought to himself. "Wonwoo hyung, can I ask a favor?"

"What is it?" Wonwoo looks at the freshman skeptically. "If you need money, forget it. I don't have any."

"No, not that," The freshman scratches his head. "Can you not tell Vernon hyung that we're in the same high school?"

"Why?"

"He tortured me already, so if he knew I go to the same high school, I'm dead."

"Alright, alright, I get it. I'll keep this secret to myself. I'm surprised he doesn't remember you. Then again, you changed so much."

"Wonwoo hyung, you're so smart," Seungkwan elbowed the older male lightly. 

"Of course, I am. I'm a million times smarter than that Vernon dummy," Wonwoo grinned. He pulled out his phone from the back of his pocket. "Hey, give me your number. Let's keep in touch."

"Ok," Seungkwan takes the phone and inputs his number in it. "Here you go."

"Cool, so where are you going?" 

"Hang out with my friend, Mingyu and his friends."

"Alrighty, I'm gonna go meet my friends as well. See ya!"

"Bye hyung!"

The hangout with Mingyu was stressful. Mingyu really undercounts when he said a few friends. In his term, a few mean a couple dozen. The whole eatery is basically filled with the people from the engineering department plus a couple more people from Mingyu's dorm. An hour or two of people flirting, chatting, and socializing really take the energy out of Seungkwan. Somehow, the boy manages to find his way home afterward and properly take off his shoes. 

Seungkwan was too tired to care about changing into PJ. He belly flopped onto the bed and dozed off. Not even the ringing of his phone with Wonwoo hyung's name pop up could wake him up.

"Let's have a group picture! Closer!"

The photographer wants to have a group picture before the competition to have something to show for during the competition. Seungkwan feels a little subconscious about himself standing next to the towers of male rep. Out of every guy, he is, by far, the shortest. All the male reps are 6 foots and above and Seungkwan feels like a shrimp next to them, especially when they're lined up in single file.

"Good good good! You guys can go now," The photographer dismissed them.

One of the other student staffs leads them to a resting area with foods and water already set up. She said we can eat all the stuff so everyone spread out to rest for the day. Every since early morning, all the reps had to do the photo shoot and prepare speeches as well as dance. Yes, you hear it right, dance. All the reps must perform at least one song together in front of the school. 

All the freshman reps were spread out in the resting area. Two very attractive sophomores walk in but one of them started to flirt with the female reps while the other one called for Seungkwan. "Hey, Seungkwan."

"Oh, Wonwoo hyung, hi," Seungkwan smiled back at the sophomore. 

"Come with me," Wonwoo pulled the freshman boy along. "There's someone you should meet."

"Where?"

"Come on, he's just over there."

Seungkwan followed Wonwoo to the table where the other sophomore is at, still flirting with the female reps. Wonwoo pulled his friend up and Seungkwan got a good look at the guy. It took a moment for Seungkwan to recognize the guy but he did. This is Hoshi. The third most popular boy in Vernon's graduated class. Vernon is the hottest, Wonwoo is the coolest, and Hoshi is the funniest. The three of them basically rule the school with their good looks and charming words. 

"Oh, Hoshi hyung, hello," Seungkwan greeted politely.

"Oh... You're... Seungkwan, right?" Hoshi grinned brightly. "Damn, you really turned out to be more handsome as days go by."

"You remember!" 

"No, he doesn't," Wonwoo smacked Hoshi's neck. "He had to ask me who you are when I told him about you. But to be fair, it is kinda your fault, Seungkwan. You changed a lot in a year. How were we able to recognize you when you got more good looking?"

"You're exaggerating," Seungkwan blushed a bit. He never got this much compliment in a conversation before. "Oh, why did you called me last night, Wonwoo hyung? I didn't pick up because I was asleep."

Wonwoo suddenly has the look of confusion on his face and he looked at Hoshi. The two of them seem to communicate telepathically through their facial expression. Then, Wonwoo's face morphed into an understanding look. "Oh right, umm... I was calling to invite you out for a drink."

"At three in the morning?" 

"Uh yeah, we just start partying then," Wonwoo elbowed Hoshi, who immediately nodded in response. 

"Oh sorry, I couldn't go," Seungkwan apologized.

"It's alright," Wonwoo brushed it off quickly. "You freshman need your beauty sleep."

"Why are you talking to my friends, short kid?" Both Wonwoo and Hoshi turn around slightly to see Vernon stand between them. However, the wavy hair sophomore has his eyes fixated on the freshman instead of his own friends. 

"What? Jealous?" Seungkwan challenged him.

"I don't like weirdos," Vernon answered.

"I don't like annoyances," The brave freshman replied. He picked up a cookie from the table and walked away confidently.

"Hey, Vernon," Wonwoo speaks up when he was sure Seungkwan was far away. "Did you use my phone last night?"

The said boy only shrugged.

As the days go by, Seungkwan and Mingyu attended dance lesson and more orientation, along with their usual classes. Rep work is much harder than they thought because it piled up along with their school works. Luckily, the two of them made friends with the other reps who are in the same situation so they all help each other out. Seungkwan learned that the female rep for his department name is Jennie. The two of them get along well. 

Even more lucky for Seungkwan, he managed to find a night to relax and take care of himself. With a face mask and a good manga, Seungkwan lay on his bed, reading with his back against a pillow against the headboard. However, his phone interrupted his relaxation before he got two pages into the manga.

"What's now, Mingyu?"

"Let's go out party," Mingyu sounds excited. There's a sound of hair dryer so the boy must be getting ready already.

"You asked me last week and yesterday as well," Seungkwan replied. "Because of you, I couldn't relax one bit, you party animal. I can feel my acne creeping up already."

"You skincare freaks," Mingyu commented. 

"If I don't, how can you have a good looking Rep for the whole university?"

"Someone is conceded," The taller male laughs through the phone. "But you just don't wanna leave because you don't wanna cheat on a certain somebody."

"Use your mouth for a better reason than nagging me, yeah?" Seungkwan scoffed.

"Fine fine, I'll go without you," Mingyu teased his friend even more. "But if you feel lonely, just holler and I'll come running. Maybe, you can give my mouth a reason."

"Just go get wasted and call me if you need someone to take you home instead of some stranger," The introvert boy teased back. "Everyone want a piece of you, or so I heard.'

They hung up and Seungkwan finally got back to his book. However, he was interrupted again. This time, it was by a knocking at the door. A million thoughts run through his mind. It would be embarrassing if someone sees him in a face mask and PJ. Only Mingyu had seen him like this and Seungkwan is pretty sure the person on the other side of the door is not Mingyu. 

"Short kid, open up."
