Mingyu sat by himself, staring out the glass window after he left his/Seugkwan/Vernon's hotel room. A million thoughts ran through his mind at lightning speed but he couldn't focus on one. Maybe that's his problem. He couldn't focus on solving one of them but instead choose to take on all of them at once and it is slowly overwhelming him. 

"You!" Seungkwan pulled out a chair next to his best friend. "Why are you sitting here all by yourself? You look like you are on cloud nine. Who did you score last night?"

"Score my ! I just had a few drinks," Mingyu replied. 

"Then, why didn't you come back?" Seungkwan was a bit happy seeing his best friend looking less gloomy than usual, not that he's ever gloomy, to begin with.

"Who would dare come back?" The taller freshman scoffed. "I don't want to sleep in the same bed that Vernon impregnated you on. I didn't want to ruin your happiness."

"What happiness?" Seungkwan played dumb.

"Forget it! But it seems your relationship with you guys is getting better."

"Really?"

"He got you breakfast," Mingyu listed. "And look after you."

"So what?"

"He cared about you, to say the least," Mingyu wants to slap his best friend for being so oblivious. it's like watching a Korean drama but with no end. "It's like both of you are beating around the bushes and tiptoeing around each other."

"Have you seen his face and my face? We are incompatible likes the oil and water."

"Here, take a look at yourself," The tall freshman held up the mirror that was conveniently placed in front of him. Seungkwan did just that. He looked at himself and fix a strand of hair that was out of place. "The first place winner and the runner-up from last year contest are fighting for your goddamn affection. They can barely take their eyes off of you after you got out of the shower. You think that's nothing? Don't sell yourself short. You definitely look above average, ya ogre."

"They weren't looking at me..."

"Shut the hell up! You don't know this but you exude cuteness, which just happens to attract them to you like ants at a picnic. Just wait and see, the two moons will fight tooth and nail to get your attention, til one of them admit defeat and kidnap you. Then, the other will spend his life trying to find you and-"

"Who's getting kidnap?" 

Both Seungkwan and Mingyu turned their head to see Seokmin walking over to them with two water bottle in his hand. He hasn't changed anything, so he's still in the gray t-shirt with "Work Hard, Play Hard" written in bold letters. 

"Hello Seokmin hyung," Both freshmen greet him.

"Hey, water?" He handed one of the bottles specifically to Seungkwan, who shyly accept it.

"Thank hyung but I'm not that thirsty."

"They're gonna have you do video shoot all day. The water will come in handy, trust me."

"You're really kind, hyung."

Mingyu watch on the sideline as the two in front of him shared a moment. He taunts Seungkwan by mimic what the shorter freshman said under his breathe. Neither Seungkwan nor Seokmin heard or saw him though. However, the moment was broken as Vernon walked into the room and he immediately caught Seungkwan's attention without even looking. 

"You got it, Seungkwan?" Seokmin's voice broke the said boy out of his thought.

"What?"

"I said make sure to exude your cuteness since that's your strong point during the video shoot."

"Yes hyung."

"And Mingyu, you better act manly and confidently."

"You're putting so much pressure on me, hyung," Mingyu whined.

"The engineering department is not losing two years in the row," Seokmin replied.

"Why are you speaking to me like a war general while using the soft tone with Seungkwan? How unfair?" Mingyu whined again.

"I have no idea what you are talking about," Seokmin chuckled. "Anyway, I gotta go. See ya later."

When he was sure Seokmin had left, Mingyu scooped his chair closer to Seungkwan. "I told you. It's so obvious."

Seungkwan wasn't really listening as he was trying to find Vernon again. He couldn't find the target without making it obvious so he gave up. The staffs gathered all the representatives and have them walked to the pool area where the video shoot will take place. When it was his turn, Seungkwan tried to look cute and speak confidently into the camera with a big smile on his face. One by one, the reps got their video shoot and then they walk over to get their photo taken for Facebook. Jennie, Seungkwan's female partner, also went with him. 

"Alright, Seungkwan is up first," The photographer sets up the camera. Jennie gave him two thumbs up.

Unluckily for him, Vernon walked up and watch as Seungkwan is getting his picture taken. This cause Seungkwan to start feeling nervous and uncomfortable as Vernon looked intensely at him. His smile becomes unnatural and the photographer notices this as well. After a couple of takes, the photographer told him to take a break as Jennie get her picture taken. 

"You ok?" Vernon sat down next to him. Like usual, he commanded all the female attention around him. 

"Just nervous," Seungkwan answered shortly. "Maybe I'm just a little thirsty."

"Drink some water..."

"Can you get me some?"

"Am your slave now?" Vernon joked.

"You're the only one available," Seungkwan pouted a little, exuding the cuteness that everyone seems to think he has. 

"Fine," The sophomore quickly got up and went to get the water. 

Seungkwan watched Vernon walked away with a smile on his face. The butterflies in his stomach fluttered around like crazy. The photographer quickly notices and took the picture. 

After the photo shoot and the video shoot, the reps were given sometimes to play around so Mingyu dragged Seungkwan to walk on the beach. He forced Seungkwan to help him take some pictures with him posing in front of the water. When Seungkwan obeyed his friend's command, he forgot to take some for himself. After a while, Mingyu finally left Seungkwan alone and the boy was able to take some pictures for himself.

"Where have you been?" Vernon popped out of nowhere. "You asked me to get you a drink and disappear on me."

"Oh, sorry, it's Mingyu's fault," Seungkwan shamelessly blamed his best friend. That's what best friends do. 

"Here," The sophomore handed a can of cold tea. "There wasn't any water left so I got the next best thing."

"Thank you... I'm sorry you had to find me."

"It's ok... Want me to help you take pictures? I saw you doing it earlier."

"No need."

"Why not? Just some keepsakes since we are at the beach but that's fine, it's up to you. I actually have something to ask you."

If he wasn't nervous before, he is certainly nervous now. Seungkwan held his breath as he gets ready to hear what Vernon could possibly want to ask him. "Yes?"

"Am I annoying to you?"

"Oh... No."

"Even after all the snarky comments, I said?"

"I said them too so let's call it even."

"This is hard," Vernon told himself.

"What is?"

"Nothing," The sophomore got a bit defensive. "It's just Seokmin might have feelings for you."

Seungkwan was speechless. It's one thing to hear it from Mingyu, who is a jokester, but it's a completely different feeling to hear it coming out of Vernon's mouth. Seungkwan doesn't exactly know what's the purpose of having this conversation anymore. "So... what?"

"I just wanna know how you feel about it?"

"Are you helping him?" For some reason, Seungkwan started to feel angry at Vernon.

"Are you saying yes?" Vernon avoided the question.

"NO!" The freshman got up abruptly and was about to leave when the sophomore grabbed his wrist. 

"Why are you mad? It's just a question."

"You jackass!" Seungkwan pushed Vernon away. "I'm not just mad, I'm pissed at you as well. Why don't you just get it? Why can't you just get how I feel about you?"

For the rest of the day, Seungkwan avoided Vernon at all cost. The older male didn't understand what the freshman was implying but he couldn't get a chance to ask either. Mingyu was always in the way and giving the death glare. Even when they're back at the hotel room, Seungkwan would jump to bed without saying a word and Mingyu would cover him in blankets to avoid contact with Vernon. The sophomore couldn't do anything, even when they're leaving the hotel to go back to the city.

"Where the hell have you been?" Wonwoo asked as Vernon jogged up to the car. "Everyone left already?"

"We got your luggage as well," Hoshi added in.

"I think Seungkwan confessed to me," Vernon replied. 

Both of his friends didn't have a response to that so they just get in the car. The drive was silent. Vernon couldn't wrap his mind around what he had discovered. How can he be so blind to not notice Seungkwan? The freshman was always right there in front of him, even back in high school. 

The first time he laid eyes on Seungkwan was the day that he went home after a he got into a fight at school and got detention. He saw Seungkwan at the bottom of the staircases, helping a lost kitty. In the end, Seungkwan took the kitty home even though he knew his mother will scold him. For some reason, Vernon started to grow fond of Seungkwan from that point onward. (The description at the beginning). However, it was difficult because, from that point forward, Seungkwan also avoid him. 

They would occasionally cross path and Seungkwan would literally run the other way with a red face. Around that time, Wonwoo and Hoshi found out Seungkwan's name, birthday, and other related information tell it to Vernon. The older male would act nonchalant about it but he was very interested and wouldn't stop talking about Seungkwan but he never explicitly said that he like the younger male. At least, not before breaking the said boy's heart the first time.

"Can you shut up about it, Hoshi?"

"We just want to make sure. We still see you as a brother even if you're gay."

Vernon sighed as he tried to get into his friend's thick skull. "Damn it Hoshi, I'm straight alright. End of discussion."

"So you wouldn't show any interest in dating any boy?" Hoshi continued as Wonwoo sat next to them in an empty classroom. 

"None at all, I get goosebump just thinking about it..."

They suddenly hear a noise from the hallway. It sounded like something had been knocked over and footsteps running away. Vernon walked out of the room just fast enough to see someone turn a corner and a note was left on the floor, addressed to him.

Simple, yet efficient. Vernon knew he lied when Hoshi asks the question. He wouldn't any boy, except one. However, it was already too late. By the time that he caught up to Seungkwan, the younger male had entered a car and drove away. 

Vernon thought he had a second chance when Wonwoo happened to obtain the younger boy's phone number. This was before he knew Seungkwan was the same Seungkwan from high school. 

"Vernon, do you still remember Seungkwan, from high school?"

"Why you ask?"

"Just asking..."

"I haven't. I just didn't mention him recently."

"Well, I managed to get his phone number, you interested?"

"Who gave it to you?"

"Him..." Wonwoo was expecting Vernon to jump for joy or at least, stole his phone already but the sophomore just nodded. "You don't want it?"

"...No. I don't know if he even likes me anymore."

"Well, you still like him. Isn't that enough to at least let him know?"

Later that night, Vernon couldn't stop staring at Wonwoo's phone as he tucked his friend into bed after a drunken night. It was late in the night, around 3 am but the nagging feeling didn't go away. Vernon decided to pick up Wonwoo's phone and call Seungkwan. Of course, there was no answer, much to his relief. 

Of course, the next day after that, Seungkwan asked Wonwoo about the phone call which caused suspicion from Wonwoo. What's done is done? What matter now is how he can fix the damage that had already been done. The only problem is whether or not the damage is fixable? 

So basically, this chapter shows Vernon's side of the story. This is the turning point so get excited for cute moments and more Verkwan and Meanie. Also, Seokmin won't appear for a while since they are more prevalent in book 2 of the original 2moons story. I haven't fully read book 2 and the second season isn't out yet (sadly).
