After the orientation, Seungkwan sat by himself on his bed with his manga that night. Halfway through the 6th volume of 'One Piece', Mingyu called and they've been talking for about an hour. Seungkwan told his best friend how he became the male representative of the Department of Biology along with a really pretty girl. Every since then, Mingyu has not let him live it down. 

"Seungkwan, you become the representative of your department!!!"

"What are you screaming about?" Seungkwan sighs.

"How did they pick you? Drawing short straws?" Mingyu was having the time of his life.

"I never intended to do it but my classmates thought that I fit the job," The boy in nerdy glasses answers. "I answer the question but my answer was really bad. Somehow, it worked."

"It'll definitely work," The taller male teases his friend. "The representative of the school and the representative of the biology department. The two of you could be those power couple from soap opera."

"Someone like me? Don't get my hopes up, dude. Being representative for my department is lucky enough."

"Didn't you know last years representatives have to take care of the one this year? You know what that mean. Your precious Vernon has to take care of you."

"What?"

"Vernon is the representative of the department of medicine and the whole school, you idiot," Mingyu waited for Seungkwan to answers but when the other boy didn't, he knew he had Seungkwan's full undivided attention. "Anyway, I wanna know what the question is. I'm curious, man."

"They asked me..." Seungkwan quietly replies. "... what love is."

"That's it? That's the question?" Mingyu slightly scoffs. "No wonder you got it. You've experienced love for as long as I know you. What was your answer? ... Or maybe I shouldn't have asked?"

"My answer was 'Because I know what love is, I am here today'," The shorter boy answers as he looks over to the picture frame with Vernon's picture in it. 

After that phone call, the two friends decided to leave te subject at that and get some sleep. The next day started with sunlight invading Seungkwan's room through the crack in the window curtains. Somehow, Seungkwan rolled over and slept on his stomach. The shirt he's wearing is a little big so his shoulder is revealing a bit. However, the thing that disturbs Seungkwan isn't the sunlight of the coldness of his shoulder, but rather the nonstop knocking outside his room. 

"Who the hell is knocking the door? Why nobody answers?" He whines.

The knocking seems to hear him and stop. A girl's voice suddenly comes up. "Vernon? Do you need something?"

At the mention of the certain name, Seungkwan shots straight up from his bed. He almost fell when he ran to the door to eavesdrop. The door wasn't thick so whatever outside is still audible to the people inside, in this case, Seungkwan. 

"I want to borrow the textbook because the exam is coming," Vernon's voice answers the girl.

"Aww, I thought you wanna buy me a treat," The girl teased. "Hold on, I'll get it for you."

"Ok," Vernon leans against the wall as the girl went back into her room.

By this time, Seungkwan slightly opens his door to peek outside. Vernon was in a light blue button-up with the top couple of buttons ed, revealing the white undershirt inside. That was paired khaki pants and white shoes. He looks like a model from a magazine. Seungkwan was completely infatuated by the look. However, his fascination and surprise were fixed and a single word comes out from his mouth.

"!"

Seungkwan quickly closes the door and barricades it with his body. This didn't go unnoticed by Vernon as the sophomore walked over a couple of feets to Seungkwan's door. The knocking was now on Seungkwan's door.

"Hey! Short kid!" Vernon almost yelled. "What did you say to me? Come out of there so I can kick you ."

Seungkwan is mentally regretting his life. Why did I say that so loudly?

"If you don't come out, I'm gonna break down the door!" Vernon threatens. 

"Vernon, you ok?" The girl comes back out. Seungkwan thanks the higher deities for saving him from further embarrassments. "Don't harass the new freshman."

"He was rude to me, Sonne," Vernon tries to defend himself. "I'm trying to teach him a lesson."

"Leave him alone," She giggles. "Poor kid."

"Be careful of this little freshman, Sonne. Don't trust him."

WTF! I'm very trustworthy.

"Alright fine," Sonne laughs. "Go away, I have to study before class. Don't harass the little guy anymore."

Seungkwan sat with his back against the door, listening to any indication that Vernon had left. Sonne's door had closed and there was silence. However, the sound of footsteps was not heard. A light kick to his door startle Seungkwan and Vernon walked away. Seungkwan inhales and exhales to calm down his beating heart. Even thought it was a scary experience, Seungkwan couldn't help but feel a little happy to see Vernon. 

"I'm trustworthy, I have no idea what he's talking about?" Seungkwan laughs to himself.

Suddenly, someone knocks on his door again. "Yo Seungkwan, is your up and out of bed yet? Why haven't you answer your damn phone?"

"Mingyu?"

"Duh, who would visit you in the morning? Open the door!"

Seungkwan opens the door and the first thing he notices is Mingyu is all dressed up for school, in uniform and everything. The judgemental of his best friend is enough for him to look at himself to see his still in his short shorts and gigantic shirt. Mingyu looks like he also just jumps out of a magazine. The school's uniform is white button-up shirt with a black tie and black pants. However, the white tank top was clearly seen through the button-up shirt. Not to mention, his hair is comb to perfection. 

"Just got out of bed?" Mingyu raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, you?" Seungkwan asked back. "Why you up so early?"

"8:00 AM. All the male and female representatives gather at the Hall 17," The taller male answers nonchalantly. "It's you who don't have a clue. You didn't even bath yet."

Seungkwan's eyes widen and he rushes to get ready. Mingyu judged him like a best friend as he watches the Seungkwan tornado whirl around the room. Luckily, Mingyu arrives at Seungkwan at 7:30 so the shorter male have enough time. 

"How did you know about the gathering anyway?" Seungkwan asks as he showers with Mingyu standing right outside the door. 

"I have my way," Mingyu replies with a smirk.

Seungkwan emerges with a towel around his waist and steam escapes from the bathroom. "You got picked for the representative of the Department of Engineering, didn't you?"

Mingyu only gave a knowing smile before Seungkwan playfully punch him. "You did!!!"

"Only because I wanna see you trying to get Vernon's attention and the gossips," The tan boy tries to cover his true intention. Now, hurry up."

Mingyu had been looking after Seungkwan every since they were small. Seungkwan wasn't as outgoing as he is now so Mingyu took it upon himself to take care of the smaller boy. He thoughts he can stop Seungkwan from falling in love with an idiot but he failed the day Seungkwan got infatuated with Vernon. The stupid sophomore didn't notice what a catch Seungkwan is. Mingyu have to make sure he's there in case Seungkwan's heart is broken. He needs to pick up the pieces if necessary. People might say Mingyu have a brother-complex toward Seungkwan. 

By the time Mingyu finds parking in the school's parking lot, Seungkwan had come up with a hundred ways to apologize to the orientation leader who's also in charge of guiding the departments' representatives. She's probably waiting for them right now.

"Sorry, ma'am," Seungkwan apologizes as he got to the entrance of Hall 17. 

"First of all, I told you to call me Kimmy," She tsked. "Secondly, why you so late? Seungkwan, I've called you so many times."

"Sorry noona, I've kept him busy," Mingyu walked up from behind Seungkwan and placed an arm around the shorter boy shorter. 

Kimmy noona suddenly looks stunned. Seungkwan rolls his eyes. This tends to happen when someone first meets Mingyu. The guy is too handsome for his own good. Both genders find themselves attracted to Mingyu's face. It didn't help that Mingyu also works out so his body is really slim and muscular. 

"Your friend, Seungkwan?" Kimmy noona laughs nervously after she regains her composure. "Or your boyfriend?"

"What? Oh no, he just my best friend," Seungkwan laughs. He couldn't imagine dating Mingyu since they've been friends for so long.

"Oh yeah!" The orientation leader laughs. "It's good to have friends. You better get in the hall before you're late. Go go go!"

Once they enter, the girls keep on looking at Mingyu. Seungkwan had to work hard to hide his laughter. His best friends clearly seem uncomfortable with all the attention he got. One would think he got used to it since he got the attention his whole life. However, Mingyu wasn't the only one who got compliments.

"Gosh, your skin is so soft," The make-up girl said as she brushes Seungkwan's face. "I barely have to hide anything."

"Thank you noona," Seungkwan replies shyly. While the girl looks in her bag for something, Seungkwan turns to Mingyu, who wouldn't sit still and kept on looking around the room. "Yo, what are you looking for?"

"Why isn't Vernon here yet?" Mingyu whispers back.

"Why do you care so much?" The shorter boy asks. "You like him too? I already have enough competition."

"I'm doing this for you, you idiot," The tan boy wanna smack his best friend's head. "Weren't you trying to find him earlier?"

"Did not."

"Did too."

"Did not."

"Did too."

The two of them stop arguing when they saw the dazed look on the girls who did their makeup. They're staring at the groups of boys who are walking through the doors. Those were all the male representatives from last year. Vernon was the one that was leading them. He had the look that says he doesn't want to be here. Everyone literally stops what they're doing to take in the perfection front of them. Some of the girls start twirling their hair. 

"Alright everyone," Kimmy noona announced. "This the last year reps. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them.Vernon, is there anything you like to say?"

"No," Vernon answered and walked over to the sofa nearby. He ignores everything and stares at his phone. 

"Damn, Vernon looks really handsome," Mingyu whispered to Seungkwan. "A year really did him good."

"So?" Seungkwan got a little defensive.

"That face could launch a million ships," Mingyu commented. "You'll right. You got enough competition without me. I really wanna know who will win his heart in the end?"

Seungkwan's mind immediately goes to the girl from this morning. It looks like Vernon is really chummy with the Sonne girl. She talks to him like he's really close to her. Maybe they dated or are still dating. Of course, I got no chance against those s if that's what Vernon into. Even in the department, I got no chance. Well, maybe.

"Hey! What's your name?" 

"Huh?"

"I asked what's your name?" Vernon stares down at Seungkwan, who's in his trains of thought. "Your sophomore is asking you a question."

Seungkwan looks over to Mingyu for help but the other boy only turns away. "Oh, it's Seungkwan."

Vernon scoffs and looks over Seungkwan's shoulder to see the frozen strawberries milk. "Sissy."

"That's none of your business," Seungkwan hides his favorites drinks. "Why do you care so much?"

"You asked for it with your bad mouth," The sophomore said. "If you want to say something, then say it. Don't be sneaky, you ! Which department are you from?"

"Biology."

"Uhm, I felt bad, the Bio department is losing this year."

"Why?"

"With you, they'll lose. Besides, I'm one of the judges."

"Who knows?" Seungkwan feeling really confident, stupid, and ridiculed at the same time. "Maybe I'll be even more popular than the school rep from last year."

"We'll see," Vernon scoffs before walking away. 

"I wanna rip Vernon's mouth off," Seungkwan as he sets down his food on the table across from Mingyu. "How did he get selected last year? Always picking on me. so annoying."

Mingyu could only smile at his friend's annoyance. "I pretty sure you want to rip it out with your own mouth but that'll borderline cannibalism. But did you know you look really happy whenever you mention him."

"What are you talking about?"

"Look at your face," The taller male pointed his fork at Seungkwan's face. "Glittering, especially when he asked your name and department. Your makeup even got smudged."

"I barely put on any makeup, how does it get smudged?" Seungkwan tries to change the subject.

"Sure sure sure," Mingyu smiles as he sees Seungkwan smiles again instead of frowning. "Eat."

"Can we still participate in other school activities?" Seungkwan asks.

"Only specific one," Mingyu answered. "When the competition is over, I promise people will be all over you. In fact, you already got your own fan club."

Seungkwan looks over his shoulder to see his friends from the bio department waving at him. The boy turns back to his best friend and gave him an 'are-you-serious' looks. Mingyu laughs and starts eating again. Suddenly, a lightbulb flash in his handsome head. "Wait, didn't Vernon say 'we'll see'?"

"Yeah, so?"

"That means whether you win or lose, he will pay attention to you, right?" The taller male grins cheekily. "How sweet is that."

"Sweet my ," Seungkwan shakes his head and stood up to go to the milk shop. "What do you want to drink?"

"Anything sweet," Mingyu playfully winks at his friend. 

Seungkwan walked up to the milk shop and looked at the menu when someone else orders a cup of milk tea before him. Surprisingly, the one who ordered it is Vernon. Seungkwan took this chance to get back at the sophomore for what he said earlier.

"Oh look at that, you drinking a sissy drink too," He scoffs.

"Are you bad-mouthing me again?" Vernon looks over at the smaller male.

"I'm not."

"Another cup of frozen strawberries milk tea please," Vernon said politely to the lady behind the counter when she handed him the coffee milk tea. 

"See?" Seungkwan feels like the one holding all the power right now. "You drink my drink as well."

The two of them waiting for the strawberries milk tea to come. When it did, Vernon pays for both drink and slide the pink milk tea toward Seungkwan.The shorter boy was stunned. 

"It is your drink, so you drink it," Vernon started to walk away. "And you better hurry because the photo shoot will start soon. You'll definitely lose if you miss that."

"I will definitely win," Seungkwan said proudly.

"I hope so."

Mingyu couldn't believe he misses that moment. He wished he had recorded that look on Seungkwan when Vernon gave the shorter boy the first gift. How did he know? Well, Seungkwan came back to the table with the biggest smile on his face and forgot to buy Mingyu a drink as well. Now, the thirsty boy had to listen to all the positive thing about Vernon because Seungkwan does not have a mute button. 

"He just got you frozen milk tea and look how happy you are," Mingyu teases his best friend. 

"What? Jealous?" Seungkwan retorted. 

When the two of them walked back into the room, three girls walk up to them with some drinks in their hands. "Hi Seungkwan, hi Mingyu. Why back so late? We got free drinks for you guy."

"Oh thank you," Mingyu accepts the drink politely as two of the girls tried to fix his tie and collar.

"Hands off," Seungkwan said. "He's a rep."

"Look at you two, so close," The third girl giggles. "Give it up, you two. You're going against Seungkwan. You'll stand no chance. Look at them. Jealousy all over the place."

"Oh true," They'll giggle.

"Seungkwan like to marks his territory," Mingyu played along. "Don't you, Seungkwan? Can we help passing out the drinks?"

"Damn, so handsome and helpful," The first girl sigh. "It's ok."

The second one adds on. "We can do it. Vernon got all of our drinks anyway. He paid everything."

"I swear all the handsome guys are together or taken."

Seungkwan already blanked out because of what they say. Mingyu took the hint and looked at his friend. The poor boy looks heartbroken. As they look around, they see that everyone have a drink. The majority of the drinks is frozen pink milk tea. 

"Vernon is so nice," They overheard the female rep of bio department, aka Seungkwan's partner, talks to her friends. "He bought everyone drinks at lunch."

Suddenly, Seungkwan gave Mingyu his drinks and walked out the door. He ran up the staircase toward the roof. Mingyu tries to call after him but Seungkwan ignored his best friend. Everyone else just looks confused at Seungkwan's reaction. Feeling extremely defeated, Seungkwan walks with his head down out to the roof. 

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Seungkwan screams out in frustration.

"Hey, calm down, freshman."

Seungkwan turns around to see last year rep of engineering, Seokmin, staring at him. 

Don't hate Vernon. It'll get better, I promise. My goal is to get you to fall in love with the characters because I love them so freaking much. Also, if you would so kind as to check out the real series "2moons the series". I promise you won't regret it. Tell me how you feel after watching the series. it is unfinished atm.
