The early rays of dawn was slowly peeking through the curtains. He glanced at the alarm clock on his bedstand, the digital numbers reading 5:45 AM. He sighed, deciding that sleeping for a few more hours wasn't gonna happen today, considering the state of his thoughts lately.

 

It was odd, waking up this early because he was known to be a sleepyhead, being the hardest member in SHINee to wake up. 

 

He glanced at the bed on his side, watching the boy sleeping peacefully and a tender look spread across Jinki's face.

 

Jinki watched the shadowed face that's been haunting his thoughts as of late. Those sharp gorgeous cheekbones, that straight nose and those perfect bow-shaped lips. Jinki watched how his chest would rise and fall in tandem with his breathing, feeling his heart swell with the love that suddenly overflowed his heart.

 

He was in love with Kim Kibum. There was no use denying the fact.

 

It didn't help that they shared dorm rooms because it just made the ache in his heart worsen, as if fate was toying with his heart.

 

He sighed and ran his fingers through his disheveled bed hair.

 

Deciding that moping around, that being a lovesick fool was not going to help, Jinki stood up, and headed to the kitchen to drink a cup of coffee and maybe watch the sunrise for awhile. 

 

It was already becoming a habit every morning.

 

 

It never fails to amaze Jinki how beautiful the sunrise is.

 

He was standing by the railings on their dorm balcony, loving the slight breeze that ruffled his hair, watching how the skies gradually changed from a light purple hue to a gradual sky blue. 

 

It couldn't get any better than this.

 

"Beautiful, isn't it?"

 

Jinki whipped his head around, startled.

 

He watched Kibum smile at him with a bemused look on his face. He obviously just got out of bed, his hair all rumpled, still in his pajamas, those pink furry rabbit slippers adorning his feet. 

 

He looked too adorable for words.

 

"It's funny how you out of all people is awake to watch the sunrise." Kibum said huskily and yawned. "Isn't it a little too early, Jinki?"

 

Jinki couldn't help but grin."Yes, but it is possible for me to wake up this early. It's not that far-fetched you know."

 

Kibum chuckled, a bit gruffly, traces of sleep still evident from the sound of his laughter.

 

Jinki's heart melted at the sight of the younger boy. He was putty in Kibum's hands, there was no doubt about that.

 

"Why are you up anyways, Kibum?"

 

That's when the other boy averted his eyes from Jinki's, trying to look elsewhere.

 

"I... well- I was worried because you weren't there sleeping on your bed like you were supposed to... and I..."

 

"You... ?"

 

Kibum sighed. "I was worried, okay?" He finished.

 

"Worried?"

 

"Yes. I mean, it was weird of you to disappear like that. So I had to look for you. I looked all over our dorm, least expecting you'd be here."

 

Jinki couldn't help but feel his heart beat a bit faster than usual, because did Kibum really care that much for him?

 

"You were really worried about me?" Jinki asks.

 

Kibum sighs. "Yes, I was, Jinki, because honestly, where else would you be? At first I thought that maybe you went to the bathroom so I waited for a bit, but when I didn't hear you come back after awhile, I couldn't help but worry."

 

Jinki suddenly smiles, and takes a step closer to him, touching his arm. "Kibum-ah..." 

 

Kibum's heart fluttered at the close contact, then he scrunched his face, making a face at Jinki. "Aish, you pabo, it's too early I-"

 

But whatever he was about to say was cut off because the next thing he knew, Jinki's lips were suddenly pressed against his. Kibum froze, but before he had the chance to react, Jinki's lips were gone.

 

Kibum was frozen on the spot, his heart beating fast. "W-what?"

 

Jinki turns away, a slight blush evident in his cheeks. "Ah, thank you, Kibum."

 

Kibum was flustered, a bit annoyed. Because really? That kiss was just because of a mere thank you?

 

"Uh, I guess I should be heading back in-"

 

But this time, it was Jinki's words that were cut off, because suddenly Kibum's lips were on his, pressing intently.

 

Jinki's heart skips a beat, hardly believing this was happening, but Kibum removes his lips right away, not giving Jinki the chance to react to the sudden kiss. He watched him in a bit of a daze.

 

"K-Kibum?"

 

That's when he noticed Kibum's angry expression. "Don't 'Kibum' me Jinki! You pabo! How could you kiss me like that out of the blue just to say thank you?! Don't you have any idea how long I've waited for you to kiss me-"

 

Kibum stops abruptly, realizing what he just said. He looks at Jinki wide-eyed, but the older boy just stood there, frozen on the spot. "W-what?"

 

Kibum turns away. "I've waited so long for you to kiss me..." he says, quietly.

 

"... did you just say-"

 

"I love you, okay?" Kibum snaps.

 

Jinki stood frozen on the spot, hardly believing what he was hearing. Did Kibum really...?

 

He watched the younger boy slightly shake, flustered, and a little unsure. "Jinki-yah, I really do love you. I don't know what I would do if anything happened to you."  

 

That's when Jinki smiles the most brightest smile Kibum has ever seen.

 

Jinki quickly grabs Kibum's hand, pulling him close. He wraps his arms around him and presses his nose against Kibum's hair, inhaling his strawberry-scented hair. His heart felt so full, he could barely contain it.

 

"You have no idea just how long I've waited for you to say that. I love you too, Kibum. I have for quite awhile now." Jinki whispered gently against his hair.

 

Jinki then tips the younger boy's chin gently to stare deep into his eyes, the early rays of the sun highlighting his features. He reaches a hand to his hair, the slight breeze ruffling the strands against the wind. He his face gently, marveling at the softness of his skin, his closed lids, his cheekbones, and when he reaches those gorgeous lips of his, he whispers raggedly, "If it's a kiss you've been wanting, then I'm going to kiss you again."

 

Jinki presses his lips against Kibum's, going slow to savour and treasure the moment. Kibum sighs in content, wrapping his arms around his neck.

 

And when they both pull away with love evident in both their eyes, with their arms wrapped tightly around each other, the sun has fully risen in the horizon and the chirping of the birds were slightly heard in the distance.

 

It was a beautiful morning.
