School Festival
Boys Over Flower 2“Sohyunie! Wait! Where are you going?” Sung Jae called out, still running after So Hyun.
“Just go away!” So Hyun shouted back at him.
Sung Jae didn’t know what’s wrong with So Hyun but he continued on calling out her name. When he saw that So Hyun was about to get run up by a bicycle, he ran double his speed and grabbed her waist, pulling it towards him.
“Yah! You almost got hit! What were you thinking just now, Gu So Hyun?” Sung Jae scolded.
Sung Jae didn’t hear anything from her and he was still holding onto her waist, hugging her. So Hyun on the other hand, never moved and she kept on holding onto Sung Jae’s jacket and her face still buried on it. Sung Jae wondered what was going on with her and when he saw that she was trembling, he panicked.
“Sohyunie, are you still sick? Yah, why did you even go back here if you are? You should have stayed in your home and get rest. Aishhh.. You really are a handful brat, aren’t you?” Sung Jae continued.
Sung Jae was expecting So Hyun to smack him and was about to brace his self for it, but it never came. Sung Jae became more alarmed so he tried to make her face him by grabbing her arms but she didn’t budge.
“What’s wrong?” Sung Jae tried again but still no word from her. “Yah! What the hell is your problem? Look at me!” He demanded and grabbed her arms even stronger and pushed it a little in order to see her face.
When he finally saw her face, he was shocked seeing her eyes red from crying. There were still some traces left of the tears that her eyes have let out. She must have tried to wipe her tears on his jacket just now, he thought.
“Did you just cry?” Sung Jae asked and So Hyun avoided his gaze. “Why?” He continued.
“It’s nothing!” So Hyun answered. “Now, will you let go of me?” She demanded and tried to tug herself from his grip but Sung Jae didn’t let go and instead, he tightened his grip even more.
“What is it? You’re not telling me something.” Sung Jae insisted. “Is it about Nam Joo Hyuk?” He continued.
Sung Jae had a feeling that So Hyun feels something special for Joo Hyuk but he ignored it, not wanting to know that his efforts will be all for nothing and he was never ready to accept that So Hyun has no feelings for him.
“TELL ME!” Sung Jae shouted, making So Hyun flinch.
So Hyun didn’t answer and her silence told Sung Jae the truth. He let go of So Hyun but he didn’t moved from where he was standing and was still staring at her blankly. So Hyun didn’t move either and was still avoiding his gaze. They stayed like that for about a minute and then suddenly, So Hyun heard Sung Jae laughing. When So Hyun looked up to him, she became heartbroken. Sung Jae sure was laughing but she could tell that he was broken inside and she didn’t know what the reason was for it but she knew that she have to do or say something.
“Sung Jae-ah.. I..” So Hyun started.
“Don’t. Just..” Sung Jae interrupted and took a deep breath. “Let’s just get you to your dorm. It’s getting late.” Sung Jae finished and started to walk away and So Hyun followed quietly.
For the following weeks, So Hyun noticed that Sung Jae was avoiding her and became meaner but not to the extent that he would play pranks against her and her F4 friends. Even Joo Hyuk had started to avoid her but she thought that it would be for the better since she also wanted to forget about her feelings for him. So Hyun also noticed Hayi and Suhyun’s strange behaviours lately. Hayi seemed to be awkward whenever Bobby was around while Suhyun on the other hand would always stick with Bobby more often. So Hyun thought that Sung Kyoung was the only one acting like her usual self among them and it made her frustrated even more. For the past weeks, the criticisms and hatred of the students towards them still lingers but So Hyun and her friends ignored them.
One Monday morning, Head Master Yang Hyun Suk called every student to the School Hall. Every student and teacher was all present and So Hyun noticed that almost all the students were very excited.
“Good morning everyone! It seems that most of you already know why I called everyone here. Next week will be the School’s 100th year anniversary and of course, it means that we will have our school festival.” The Head Master announced and everyone cheered. “Now, each class will have their own presentation. I’ll let you decide what kind of presentation but I expect that it will be a descent one, you get it?” He added and everyone giggled. “That’s all.”
After the announcement, all the students went to their respective classrooms and discussed about the presentation that they will be doing.
At the Year 1 Class 3 room:
“So, any suggestion? It better be good. You know I don’t like boring stuff, right class?” Teacher Lee exclaimed.
“What about Cosplaying?”
“Yeah, and then we could do a fashion show!”
“FASHION SHOW?” Suhyun suddenly became interested. “That’s an excellent idea!” She agreed.
“Yah, what’s so great about that? That sounds boring!” Jun Hue commented and Suhyun glared at him. “And it’s so girly! What about we make a Haunted House? Scaring people is so much more fun.” Jun Hue added.
“Only for you! I mean, just look at your face! Yours is enough to scare me. Ugh!” Suhyun commented.
“Eyyy.. This face? This is a face of an angel, FYI! How can you say that it scares you? Hmmm.. Don’t tell me that you’re scared to fall in love with this face?” Jun Hue teased and Suhyun just scowled at him.
“Jun Hue’s idea is quite good. That’s brilliant Sook Jun Hue!” Teacher Lee praised.
“What? You must be kidding me.” Suhyun exclaimed, horrified by the idea.
Seeing Suhyun’s reaction, Bobby suddenly remembered that Suhyun hated anything related to scary things. He then felt sorry for her and was about to console her but he became distracted when he noticed that Hayi was glancing back at him secretly. Bobby noticed that Hayi was avoiding him for the past weeks and it made him wonder why.
“Sounds okay to me.” Chanwoo interrupted. “I mean, Hayi could do the painting for our props. She’s really good at it.” Chanwoo added, making Hayi flinch beside him and quickly looked away from Bobby’s direction.
“Umm.. I guess I could do it. For the class.” Hayi stated shyly.
“Tsk! That Chan Woo sure knows how to talk.” Bobby noted after seeing Hayi smile at Chanwoo.
“Aishh! Hayi, you traitor!” Suhyun accused silently.
“Then, it’s settled!” Teacher Lee concluded.
“Alright! This is going to be so much fun.” Jun Hue cheered, making a mischievous face.
At Year 1 Class 2 room
“A Play?!” All the class 2 students exclaimed.
“Yup, that’s right.” Teacher Yoo confirmed. “Sleeping Beauty.” She added.
“Shouldn’t we discuss about it first? I mean, don’t we have a say on this, Teacher?” Sung Kyoung complained.
“If I’ll let you decide, I’m sure it will be a disaster.” Teacher Yoo countered and everyone made an agreeing noises. “So my decision is final. We will do a stage play.” Teacher Yoo concluded.
Upon hearing the final decision, all the students started to murmur about who are going to be the lead actors but then Teacher Yoo suddenly showed everyone a transparent bottle containing folded papers inside it.
“In this bottle are papers containing the names of the characters while some pape
