The 2nd Generation F4
Boys Over Flower 2At the Song Residence:
From the moment Suhyun entered the gate of the main house, she could hear her big brother’s voice coming from their Dojo. The Dojo was located just a little farther from the main house. Even though the Songs were Koreans, the Song residence was mostly built like a Japanese mansion. Their residence was consist of the main house (where they stay most of their time), the Dojo, the servant’s quarters, the People’s hall (where special occasions were celebrated), and a garden where you can also find a pond. The main house was mostly where Suhyun stayed because she couldn’t take nature so much. She was thankful enough that their father provided a swimming pool and a small salon inside the main house where she could leisurely enjoy staying home.
“Minho oppa must be practicing right now. Oh god! Why must we always practice every day?” She thought.
The Song children were told by their father to practice martial arts every day. They were obligated to spend at least an hour to practice their chosen art. As the Mafia’s boss’ children, they were expected to know and practice martial arts. In Suhyun’s case, she was trying to learn Kendo for her first art. They should be able to learn all the arts, but in her case, she was still struggling to know kendo. Chan Hyuk on the other hand, already learned Kendo and Karate and so, he started to learn aikido for his third art. This fact made Suhyun hate her twin brother even more.
“Yah! Hyunie-ah, what happened to you at school? I heard that you went to the infirmary but when I went to check you out, you weren’t there anymore.” Chan Hyuk asked as soon as he arrived at the gate.
“Why do you care?” Suhyun growled.
“Hey, what’s with you?” Chan Hyuk was especially surprised by Suhyun’s angry answer. He was used to Suhyun’s attitude problems but he sensed something different from the way his sister acted just now from her usual self.
“You two! What do you think you’re doing just standing there and glaring to each other? Change into your uniforms. Dad’s not here so I’ll be in charge for your practice today.” Minho interrupted, walking towards them.
At the Dojo:
“Hyukie, Jinu sensei will personally look out to your aikido, so be a good student, ok?” Minho tapped Chan Hyuk on the shoulders and then messed up his hair.
“Alright, alright! Just don’t mess up my hair. I’m not a kid anymore you know. I’m in my high school.” Chan Hyuk answered and off he went with the teacher to the other side of the Dojo.
Minho turned to his sister who was struggling on putting her protective helmet on. He noticed at the same time that his sister was making weird faces at her clothing. Minho suddenly remembered about Suhyun’s personality and taste of clothes and it made him thought that his sister must really hate her outfit right now.
“Okay! You will be stuck with me. I will be Hyunie’s personal teacher for today!” Minho stated enthusiastically and took the helmet from his sister and put it on her himself.
“What? Don’t I have my own teacher like Chan Hyuk?” Suhyun complained.
“My dear, little sister. Hyukie already learned two arts. He’ll manage. It’s you that I’m worried about. Since dad is not here, you must learn from the second greatest, namely ME.” Minho answered, proud.
“Show off!” Suhyun thought.
Minho and Suhyun geared up and started to practice. They both were holding a wooden sword and making their stance against each other. Suhyun advanced first but was blocked by Minho’s sword. Every time Suhyun tried to move, Minho followed her movements and countered them.
“What are you doing Hyunie-ah? You didn’t even hit me even once. I’m not even making an effort here, how much more if I started to get serious?” Minho teased.
“Who told you not to get serious?” Suhyun shouted feeling pissed.
Suhyun stepped her right foot forward and advanced her sword at her brother. She was about to hit Minho but he easily side stepped and smacked her on the head by the sword he was holding. The impact made her stumble and fall.
“Stand up! Don’t tell me that it’s all you could do? Come on, you’re better than this!” Minho urged to his sister who was still on the floor.
“It’s easy for you to say! You’ve mastered all the arts! How could I exactly compete with you?” Suhyun accused.
“You are making excuses Hyunie-ah! I haven’t even given my best just yet, but you’re complaining already? How did you become like this? You’re a Song for goodness sake!” Suhyun growled.
Suhyun just kept quiet. She didn’t know what to say. She noticed that Chan Hyuk was watching them. It must have been at least an hour because she also noticed that Chan Hyuk’s personal teacher has gone already.
“We’re done here. Go clean up. Dad might be at home already. He would want to know about your first day of high school.” Minho dismissed.
At the Yoon Residence:
“I’m home!” Sung Kyoung announced when she came home.
“Welcome home young miss.” The servant greeted.
Sung Kyoung was greeted by Mrs. Im, the only servant in their household. Their father was not very fond of too much people, especially in their house so he decided to have only one helper that would help his wife and the children in their needs. Even their house was simple. Their mother was mostly at home, by their father’s will of course. Ji Hoo believed that the presence of a mother at home was very important. Well, that’s what made Sung Kyoung bitter towards their father. Ji Hoo only believed that being a mother alone was important and didn’t mention about whether being a wife was also important. Ever since they were young, she heard the story about her father being in love with So Hyun’s mother (Geum Jan Di). And because of their father’s serious personality, she could sometimes felt some coldness from their father and it made her believe that their father didn’t even love their mother. Since then, she grew up without so much love for her father and even for her mother. Sung Kyoung couldn’t understand why their mother would put up with her cold husband. Sung Kyoung thought that she could only trust her big brother, Jin Woo.
“Has Jin Woo oppa arrived yet?” Sung Kyoung asked the servant.
“Yes miss. Young master Jin Woo is in his room.” The servant answered and took Sung Kyoung’s bag.
Sung Kyoung went directly to her brother’s room, located just beside hers. She didn’t even knock at the door and went in. She saw that her brother was studying a medicine book and at the same time he was writing some notes down. After some time, she was finally noticed by Jin Woo.
“Yah! How many times do I have to tell you to knock before you enter?” Jin Woo scolded.
“Hah! Why bother? As if you wouldn’t let me in.” Sung Kyoung said, rolling her eyes and sat beside Jin Woo.
“Watch your manners please, Kyoungie-ah. You know father wouldn’t like that.” Jin Woo reminded.
“The more reason not to.” Sung Kyoung answered, smiling wickedly.
Her brother just smiled and gave up on reasoning to her. After all, this is what he loved about
