Jungkook
Not TodayIt was a dream. That much Jungkook knew. But it still felt real, too real.
They were running. BTS. Together again. The feeling was bitter sweet, because Jungkook was finally with his hyungs, but something was off. They were in the middle of nowhere, open, with small rocky mountains surrounding them. It was desert hot. Jungkook ran in front, the others following close behind. He glanced over his shoulder, past Taehyung, Jimin and Namjoon; past Suga, Hoseok, and Jin. The facts of his brothers, etched in fear and determination. He galnced back and saw a sea of Shadows chasing them, quickly gaining ground.
All of a sudden there was a loud bang, and out of the corner of his eye, Jungkook saw Jimin fall. Another bang. Hoseok fell. Another. Taehyung. Another. Suga. Another. Namjoon. Another. Jin.
Jungkook spun around, his brothers on the ground, still. Their blood pooled around them, so much blood. Jungkook froze, and then his eyes drifted up to the Shadow holding the gun.
The Shadow removed his mask.
The same hair cut, the same build, the same mischievous smirk. Jungkook was staring at a mirror image of himself. The only difference were those silver eyes... Shadow Jungkook raised his gun again and aimed it at Jungkook. He fired -
With a gasp, Jungkook sat up sweat beading on his forehead. His heart pounded loudly against his chest. Even though it was a dream he couldn't shake it off. Slowly, he drew his knees up and wrapped his arms around them. It was just a dream. It was just a dream...
Doctor Park came or him this time, accompanied by a Shadow and a wheelchair. Attached to it was an IV drip. Jungkook resisted the urge to cringe. He kept his face blank, though continued to cower on his bed. He couldn't get his limbs to work. Doctor Park stepped forward with a syringe.
"I take it we'll have to do this the tough way?" he asked.
When Jungkook didn't answer, he gestured to the Shadow who pinned Jungkook to the wall so he wouldn't fight. Jungkook gritted his teeth against the bite of the needle, and when the Shadow released him, the mask slipped revealing a familiar face. He was smaller, about the size of a young teenager. All the fear was gone, and his eyes were silver, but it was definitely Hanuel.
Jungkook was hit with a wave of dizziness, but he shook his head. "No..." His voice sounded distant, and Hanuel grabbed his arm with surprising strength. Jungkook easily could have overpowered Hanuel on a good day. Hanuel led him to the chair and helped him sit. Another surprise. As Doctor Park fiddled with the IV, Hanuel leaned down, close to Jungkook's ear.
"It'll all be okay, hyung."
Jungkook wasn't too sure about that. He should have been surprised by Hanuel speaking to him, not as a zombie, but as a normal teenager, but he couldn't focus. His vision pulsed, and his body felt heavy. He could barely lift his head. There was a distant pain in his arm where the needle pierced, but it was gone instantly. He tried to lift his arms, but to no avail. He was aware of the wheelchair moving, closer and closer to the worst thing possible. In that moment, Jungkook felt truly, and utterly hopeless.
