CHAPTER FIFTEEN

No limit in the sky that I won’t fly for you

Right after Sunggyu left his office with a heart shattered into a thousand pieces, Woohyun tried to focus on his work and preparing his presentation but nothing that he does manages to get rid of their previous argument and conversation.

Nothing that he does manages to elevates the shame and guilt that he felt.

He leans his back on his chair and tried to close his eyes, but a certain brunette keeps on haunting him making he felt awful. He loosened the grip of his tie in an attempt to breathe and relax his tense muscle. 

The thought of Sunggyu makes him resent his dad, which in turn makes him blame his innocent brother. That one person that put the entire responsibilities on his shoulder right now after he bravely leaves the company to get married to the love of his life.

And that was the one thing that Woohyun could never do. 

The raven pinched the bridge of his nose in an attempt to clear his mind and prioritize this problem.

But Kim Sunggyu is his top priority.

“.” He cursed when the intensity of his words finally sunk in his brain. His lack of brain to mouth filter always cause Sunggyu to get hurt. He can hear the train of insult flew from Hoya’s mouth right now.

At this rate, no amount of work can be done and there’s no use in even trying. He needs Sunggyu, and he needs it so badly. While it’s true that they did have their fair share of argument before, this is the first time that Woohyun let the brunette go before trying to come clean with his action.

He needs Sunggyu to know how much he loves him. How much he’s willing to give and sacrifices for the other. 

But then again, they won’t be facing this kind of situations if he’s willing to sacrifice for the other. Actions speak louder than words, and clearly, he can’t give the only things that Sunggyu ever want. 

It’s selfish, yes.

But losing Sunggyu is something that he didn’t want to ever experiences.

He didn’t even want to remember the dreadful and awful feelings that he felts before Sunggyu comes into his world and light up his darken and sorrow future.

The feelings of waking up cold in his bed.

The feelings of working overtime alone in his office.

The continuous one night stand to get rid of the loneliness.

And that’s stop when Sunggyu comes into his life, and successfully making a permanent present. 

He’s a constant that Woohyun didn’t want to change.

Which is why letting Kim Sunggyu go is not an option right now.

Feeling there’s no use in dwelling with his self-pity, the raven decides to make a phone call to apologize to his boyfriend, but stop midway when he remembers how disappointed Sunggyu looks before. 

And knowing the brunette, he probably wants to be left alone right now. Right?

He wants to leave a text message, but an incoming phone call from an unknown number caught him off guard. He frowned since there are only a few people who know the number of his private phone. And one of that few people is clearly mad at him right now.

“Hello, Nam Woohyun speaking.” He says right after he picks up the phone. Tone fill with authorities that can rival his father.

There are five seconds silences before the person on the other line sighs and reply, “Hey Woohyun, it’s me. Boohyun.”

Great. He has zero tolerances to entertain his brother right now. Not when this entire event won’t be happening if Boohyun didn’t leave the company. But then again, he won’t be meeting Sunggyu if that happens.

“Why the did you call me after three ing years bastard?”

“Hey, hey! Language!” Boohyun reply with a scolding tone that sounds like his mother.

“You think I care about that ing right ing now?”

“Woohyun, why the hell did you curse like a sailor right now?” Woohyun can imagine his brother rolling his eyes at his sass.

“You’re the one who starts.” 

“You know what, just drop it. Let’s meet up?”

“Do I look like I want to see you right now?”

“Technically speaking, we are on the phone so I can’t see you.”

“Fine! Usual places.” Woohyun agreed and end the call right away. He swears that if he listens to another word from his brother, he might go mad. 

Boohyun is everything that his profile in ‘Step1’ Magazine describes. Tall, dark, and handsome. A professional in his works but always humble with his employee and respecting other’s decision. While Woohyun is the opposite. He’s cold and rude and refuses to listen to other’s opinion. He’s the President, and his decision is mandatory.

One would say that he is the carbon copy of Nam Jaehyuk, their father.

The first time that Mr. Nam decided to pull Woohyun out of his college, his mother has broken down and crying while begging his husband to not do that to her son again.

It’s enough that she loses Boohyun, she can’t lose Woohyun too.

But Woohyun, thinking that he finally get his father’s attention, refuse to listen to his mother. Oh darling, if you know what you get yourself into.

Deciding that he has everything in his briefcase, he shut down his desktop and grabbing his car keys to the parking lot. He drives in a full speed to their usual destination, the Paradise café located near their old school in Seoul.

They make the best coffee in town. And thanks to Sungyeol, they manage to discover the places.

When he arrived at the street, he swiftly parks the car and grabbing the keys, stepping out of the car. The aromas of coffee greet his sense and for the first time that evening, he smiles genuinely.

He saw his brother in the back seat of the café, sitting alone beside the window. He looks so deep in thought that Woohyun didn’t have any heart to get mad. He slides down beside Boohyun and smiles in appreciation when he saw his order in front of him. Boohyun still remembers his favorite.

“Hey, hyung,” Woohyun speaks slowly and Boohyun jolted in his place, almost knocking his cup of coffee from the table. Thank God for Woohyun’s fast reflex. 

“Sorry.” Boohyun apologized for his clumsiness and ordered Woohyun to have a sip of his coffee before it went cold. They exchange the usual simple talk regarding their parents and family before Boohyun speaks his curiosity, “So, how’s life?”

“I’m going through a pretty bad fight right now,” Woohyun admits, staring down at his coffee right now. His brother had ordered the usual caramel Macchiato that Woohyun loves so much thanks to Sunggyu but right now, it only serves as a reminder of their recent fight. 

He wants to forget for a moment but clearly, his stubborn conscience didn’t allow him to run from their problem again. Not now, at least.

“I didn’t know you were in a relationship.” Boohyun who sat across from the other speaks up. While it’s true that he manages to get out of their family’s grip, he always keeps a tab on his brother’s life. Always asking Sungyeol for anything new and bug Myungsoo to take a good care of his brother amidst of his busy schedule.

He visits Sewon sometimes and spends his times with Myungsoo and Sungyeol. But he never has enough gut to go and meet his brother. Until now. Thanks to his wife.
