Rose was watching Angel cook, bustling around the kitchen with practiced ease. Since there were only a few people left, they were having breakfast at the small table inside the kitchen, sitting cozily together.

Or well, as cozily as they could with Lily trying to keep her distance from Xiumin. A bit stupid if you asked Rose, seeing as her sister could only sleep peacefully with him around. She’d stayed up the entire night, obvious circles around her eyes and it had turned her irritable, making her the perfect target for teasing, which Leo and Rose had been dedicatedly doing.

Of course, Xiumin asking her to come with him to work had just added to the whole situation, leading to Leo winking obnoxiously and Rose accidentally-on-purpose bumping into Lily so she could land into her boyfriend.

Lily had left the room with a huff, stomping off to the kitchen and the rest had followed more sedately. Rose offered to help, Lily had already set up the table but Angel was happy cooking for all of them. Suho, clinging to her like a koala, had detached reluctantly when they showed up but was now staring at his wife, a sappy look on his face. It was cute.

‘He looks like you,’ Rose commented to Leo, ‘when you’re with Minah.’

Leo scrunched his nose. ‘I don’t look like that.’

‘Hm, you’re right, you look even sappier-‘

‘I’m not sappy.’

‘Right.’

Rose let him stew, going back to looking at Angel. She was so pretty, delicate and feminine, literally glowing – it was no wonder Suho was so gone for her.

She pouted, wondering if Chen would look at her like that, then shaking her head. She was so stupid.

Inside her, Star stirred. Rose gave herself a mental shake. A little kindness and it went to her head.

I like her, Star commented.

Who?

Aayn…jel?

Aay- oh, you mean Angel. Rose looked at the girl again, who had just settled in front of them. Yeah, I like her too.

So pretty. Very shiny…

Rose smiled at Angel who smiled back. ‘Here, have some!’

Rose picked at her breakfast, thanking her. Inside her, Star was intensely focused on Angel, which made Rose curious. She eyed Angel interestedly but couldn’t see anything different.

She tried to tune herself into Star’s emotions and was a little surprised at the affection she felt bubbling in her.

‘You’re not eating anything,’ Angel suddenly commented, picking up a chunk of food and piling it into Rose’s plate. ‘Here,’ She held up a loaded fork to , waiting for her to open it.

She obliged, letting her feed her and smiled, finally pinning down Star’s emotions as well. Angel reminded Star of her mother. The thought made her heart go out for both Xiumin and Star. They’d lost their parents so tragically.

Before she could do or say anything else, Suho’s phone rang. He answered distractedly, opening his mouth so Angel could feed him too but straightened hurriedly. ‘What happened?’

‘Yes, yes… I’ll send Kai immediately. Don’t worry, just keep him awake.’

He called Kai, then called another number before muttering to himself and calling someone else again. ‘Hello, Kris – can you get Lay? He’s not answering. Yes, Chanyeol is fine, Kai is bringing him over. It’s just a concussion, don’t worry. Okay, see you.’

He hung up with a sigh. ‘Is it too much to ask for a day without emergencies?’ he asked no one in particular. Angel giggled, making Suho soften and he looked at her with such affection, Rose looked away, feeling like she was invading on a private moment.

‘What happened?’ Xiumin asked. ‘Chanyeol hit his head?’

‘Yes… I don’t even want to know how,’ he groaned, putting his head back. ‘It’s not even noon yet!’

Xiumin grinned and stood up. ‘Well, time for me to go.’

Suho pouted. ‘You’ll abandon me just like that?’

‘Bye bye!’ Xiumin waved over his shoulder, already heading out. He glanced at Lily. ‘You sure you don’t want to come?’

Lily shook her head, determinedly eating her food. ‘M fine.’

Xiumin looked disappointed but left without another word.

Suho got up, kissing Angel’s head before leaving as well. ‘I should go prepare.’

Leo followed after him, muttering something about calling his wife, glaring when Rose muttered sappy before hastily turning it into a cough.

That left Angel with Lily and Rose. Rose bumped her shoulder into Lily. ‘Have a heart, Lily.’

Lily glared at her but she smiled back cheekily. ‘He looked so sad when you refused…’

Her sister narrowed her eyes. ‘Mind your own business, missy. I’m not teasing you about Chen, now am I?’

Rose’s cheeks flushed. ‘Wha- who said- where did that come from?’

‘I have eyes,’ Lily said smugly, pointing at the said features. ‘And I know your type.’

‘I don’t have a type,’ Rose protested, pouting when Lily simply smirked.

Angel eyed her with interest. ‘Chen, huh?’

Rose groaned, burying her head in her arms as the other two laughed. Leo stepped back into the kitchen, taking in the sight in front of him. ‘What did I miss?’

‘Nothing, girl stuff.’ Lily covered up smoothly and Rose shot her a grateful look. You owe me, Lily mouthed, making her pout but she nodded. Fine.

There was some commotion in the living room when they got there. Chanyeol, stumbling like he was drunk, vehemently trying to grab at Kai. ‘Stay away…’ he slurred, before letting out a mouth splitting yawn. ‘I’m sleepy.’

‘You have to stay awake.’ Nara’s voice sounded from behind him. He pouted, blinking around before whining. ‘I can’t see you!’

Suho hurried towards the trio. ‘This is bad,’ he muttered, grabbing Chanyeol’s shoulders and forcing him into a sofa. The Legend flailed his limbs around and knocked a couple of things over.

‘He’s agitated,’ Nara informed Suho, patting Chanyeol’s shoulder.

‘I can see that. What happened?’

‘We were kissing and he was leaning against some gate. It opened by accident – I think our movement twisted the knob – and we fell down. He was holding me so he couldn’t break the fall. His head hit into the bricks that were lining the sidewalk. I think it was near the base of his neck, the cerebellum was definitely hit, compromising his balance; he also sustained damage to the occipital lobe, because his vision has been blurry ever since.’

‘Thank you Nara. Chanyeol,’ Suho called the Legend. He groaned in response. ‘Can you see how many fingers I’m holding up?’

Chanyeol blinked a couple of times before groaning again. ‘Five, four… maybe.’

Suho put his two fingers down. ‘Well, he’s definitely concussed.’ He looked around. ‘Nara, why don’t you take a seat. Kai, could you go and bring Lay? He’s probably with Kris.’

Kai nodded and vanished, wisps of black smoke left in his wake. There was silence before he reappeared. Lay looked like he’s stepped through a gate, walking calmly towards Chanyeol. Tae, who’d also appeared beside him, stumbled before falling into a seat with a sigh.

‘Let’s never do that again,’ she told Kai, who grinned. ‘Didn’t like it?’

‘I think I might prefer flying over this,’ she muttered. There were sounds of door unlocking and then, running footsteps. Kris appeared in the doorway, his hair windswept. He let out a sigh of relief at the sight of his Shadow.

Suho gestured at a sofa. ‘Sit down, I’ll look you over.’

Kris nodded, holding his head like he had a headache too. ‘We’re sure it’s just a concussion? It feels terrible.’

‘No…’ Lay muttered, holding a glowing hand to Chanyeol’s head. ‘There seems to be some bleeding too… give me a moment.’

There was silence as the healer completed his scan. ‘It’s minor,’ he told Suho, ‘I don’t think it’ll need any draining. I’ll seal the wound and repair all I can. He’ll need to rest for a couple of days, though, till the swelling goes away completely.’

Kris frowned. ‘Can’t it be treated completely?’

Lay didn’t look at him, putting his hands behind Chanyeol’s head and concentrating. ‘He’s healthy, he’ll recover quickly.’

Kris frowned, opening his mouth to say something but then, he caught sight of the way Nara was hovering around Chanyeol. It was kind of cute.

He nodded, shrugging. ‘Okay.’

Suho gestured Kris closer. He rolled his eyes but obliged, letting him flash light into his eyes and moving his head to show there was no problem. ‘He just caught me off guard.’ Kris muttered lowly, ‘I kind of forgot what it was to have the link after… you know.’

Suho nodded, then waited for Lay to finish up before flashing a light into Chanyeol’s eyes once again. ‘Okay, that looks better.’ He glanced at Nara. ‘Will you stay with him?’

She nodded fervently, hand coming up to rest on his shoulder.

‘Okay, I’ll come check him in an hour or so. We should move him to his room.’

They helped carry him to his room and laid him down before leaving the couple alone.

Rose could visibly see Lily getting restless.

‘Just go,’ she said as Lily undid and redid the comforter. ‘Go to work, you’re not made for sitting around and relaxing.’

Lily shook her head, shrugging. ‘I can relax.’

‘Lily, you’ve cleaned this room five times.’ Rose rolled her eyes. ‘You didn’t even sleep last night. If you’re not going to work, go to sleep.’

Lily sighed. ‘I’m fine.’

Rose shook her head, eyeing Lily closely. Her skin was flushed and there were visible tremors in her arms as she straightened the sheets.

‘You’re obviously sick,’ Rose muttered, getting up. Lily didn’t pay her any mind and Rose took that chance to move behind her. She put a hand on Lily’s neck, noticing how hot the skin felt.

Not that she could touch for long because Lily had flinched, putting distance between them. ‘Don’t just creep up on me and touch me out of nowhere!’ she exclaimed, rubbing her neck.

‘You’re running a fever!’ Rose exclaimed back, attempting to grab her shoulders and sit her down by force. ‘Lily, you need to rest. You’re burning up!’

Thankfully, her sister sat down. ‘I might have a fever but it’s okay. I took the meds, they’ll kick in soon.’

‘You’re supposed to rest after taking medicine, you idiot!’ Rose shook her head, grabbing the sheets out of Lily’s hands. ‘No wonder you’re shivering.’

‘I’m not,’ Lily protested weakly, a tremor going through her.

‘Okay enough. Look, I’m going to go and help Angel with chores and see if there’s anything else that I can do. You are going to lie down and sleep, either here or in your old room.’

‘My old room?’

‘Angel told me you used to stay over at that room in the corner.’

‘That’s Xiumin’s room!’

‘Even better,’ Rose cheered, smiling when Lily threw a cushion at her. ‘Okay, sleep here if you want to but please, rest. I’ll call Lay.’

Lily, who’d leaned back to make herself comfortable, sat back up. ‘What for?’

‘To check you.’ Seriously, Lily seemed to think she was invincible but that wasn’t true and Rose didn’t want her sister to get any sicker. She’d all seen Lay’s healing first hand, he could probably fix her up.

‘There’s nothing I can do.’ Lay declared, after looking Lily over. ‘She’s insisting on being stubborn and that’s all there is to it.’ He glared at Lily who huffed and crossed her arms, looking away.

‘Rose, leave us alone.’

Rose eyed the two curiously before stepping out and closing the door behind her. Lily him. ‘I’m being stubborn? What am I supposed to do?’

‘I already told you,’ Lay retorted, crossing his arms. ‘Use him.’

‘How?’ she demanded.

Lay titled his head. ‘Do I really need to spell it out?’

‘No, please don’t.’ She sighed, rubbing her face. ‘Look, I know you think I’m being stubborn but it’s not that easy. I’ve spent all these months hating him-‘

Lay arched his brow and she amended. ‘Fine, not hating him but I’m still angry at him.’

‘You can make him pay. Later. You don’t have the luxury of time right now; if you delay it even a couple more days, I can’t guarantee you’ll even be able to stand up straight.’

Lily kept mum, making the healer sigh. ‘Look, at the risk of coming across as some ert who is overly invested in your ual relationship, I’m begging you. Jump him before you become completely crippled. Your body is going to completely give up and the medicines won’t work.’

Lily winced. Lay continued. ‘You think what happened when you arrived was painful? This will be infinitely worse. Trust me, you don’t want that.’

Lily chewed on her lip thoughtfully before sighing. ‘Fine. I’ll talk to him.’

‘Less talking, more doing.’ Lay said candidly, making her blush.

‘Seriously Lay, just go.’

‘As long as we’re clear-‘

‘We are very clear,’ she insisted. ‘Now leave!’

He shrugged, opening the door; Rose nearly fell inside, obviously leaning against the door. She smiled sheepishly. ‘I, uh, couldn’t help but overhear you guys.’

‘You were eavesdropping.’

‘Well, if you put it like that…’ She shrugged, grinning winsomely at Lily who only sighed and looked away. ‘But is that what’s going on? You’re on the verge of collapsing from ual frustration?’

Lay snorted, turning it into a loud cough at Lily’s glare. ‘He did not say that.’

‘That’s the gist though, isn’t it?’

‘No it’s not…’ Lily defended herself, feeling heat rise on her cheeks. Thank goodness it was only Rose and not Leo or she would never hear the end of it.

‘What’s not?’ Leo’s voice floated in, her brother appearing in the doorway. Lily let out a frustrated squeak, turning and pulling the covers over her face.

Rose grinned. ‘I like Xiumin. Anyone who’s got Lily twisted up like this has got to be good.’

‘Shut up!’ Lily’s muffled voice floated over.

Leo laughed. ‘You’re right.’

A/N

Not update right after EXO dropped the MV of the year? I DON'T THINK SO!

For real though, the hell is that? I love, love, love the MV and the song. It didn't disappoint and all our theories went to hell. Dudes, this is the IT song, I'm in love with my boys all over again. There are just so many parts in the MV that I've classified as my favorites, I can't pick one. It's beautiful TuT and then. Xiumin updated his insta and I legit cried :'3 I miss OT9 even more now. 

Also, Chanyeol's birthday :3 happy belated birthday (I'm sorry I couldn't update earlier) to our giant baby with the softest heart. He's officially declared that EXO-Ls are the only women for him, so now I'm officially not single anymore hahaha XD sorry, I feel a little high, blame it on Obsession. This is the song that literally made me twerk - I don't even know how to do it, it just brought out my inner twerker, that's how much a bop it is XD

Anyway, here's an update. The MV and the concept has given me many new ideas and I'm considering if I should incorporate them in this story or should I just it up and finish this before starting anything new.
