chapter 29
apocalypse IIThis has no effect. Those three just won't listen after Seungho started talking about how dangerous leaving those infecteds in the barn near their shelter. They just closed their ears and covered their eyes. They won't even give a chance for Seungho to finish his talk.
Seungho turned and shot Mir a look. Silently asking the younger for help. Mir sighed. Guess, he really need to choose a side.
"Guys... Can't you at least listen to what Seungho hyung want to talk about?" Mir tried.
"We have already known what you guys want. You guys want to kill our friends and family, don't you?" Wooyoung spat. His eyes were burning with anger.
Seungho gulped loudly but gathered his courage. He couldn't leave this matter unsettled. "They are already dead. They're no longer what they were. Even if we shot their heart, they won't die. They will keep trying to attack us living. Living people will die the second we shot their heart." He tried again, grateful his voice sounded confident and clear.
"No! The-" Wooyoung stopped abruptly when sound of gushots could be heard.
"The barn!" Lizzy shouted and they all started running to the said barn.
Mir's eyes widened when he saw Rain, Jonghyun and Minho were standing in a line. The barn was opened and walkers flooded out of the barn. Mir recognized each and one of the walkers. His friends. His neighbours. The elderly whom always smiled kindly at him when he walked past them. The children whom always so loud and cheerful running and playing around the neighbourhood. All of them. Even... Junho.
The three survivors kept shooting the walkers. Lizzy, Nana and Wooyoung kept shouting for them to stop. Mir had to grab Lizzy from charging into the field filled with strayed bullets.
Mir heards footsteps approaching as the other members of their group ran to them all bearing the same look of shock. "Hold him!" Mir ordered to Byunghee and Joon, pointing to Wooyoung who managed to escape Seungho's grasp and tried to ran to the three shooters. Byunghee and Joon immediately launched at Wooyoung. Stopping the boy from charging into the field.
"What are you doing? Stop! Please stop!" Lizzy cried. She turned to Mir. "Stop them. Stop them." She begged to Mir but Mir couldn't do anything. If he stopped them, then their lives would be in danger with that many walkers released from the barn. All he could do was pulling the girl into a tight hug, listening to Lizzy's broken wail, hoping this would end soon.
