"Why are you doing this?" Mir asked, his eyes on the girl who was mixing some colourful liquid on the lab table.

The girl took off the goggles she wore and tied her long straight charcoal hair into a ponytail. "I've told you already. I'm going to save this world."

Mir snorted. "By tying and locking me here?" 

The girl smiled. "Part of it. You're going to help me. You're going to be my lab rat." 

Mir gritted his teeth. This girl was a nutjob. There was no way talking sense into that girl. 

"Oh... Are you lonely? I have some more lab rats I caught yesterday." The girl squeaked in delight as if it was a really good news. Well, probably for her.

Mir watched in horror as the girl pushed a strecher into a room. A young girl probably not more than 10 years old was strapped onto the stretcher. The girl was bawling her eyes out.

"Wait here... There's another one." The nut girl went out again leaving Mir with the crying girl.

"Sweetie... Sweatie... Hush now..." Mir tried calming down the girl. The girl's loud crying slowly reduced to that of a choking sobs. "What's your name, dear?" Mir asked as softly as he could.

"Soojung." The little girl answered between her hiccup. "I'm scared..." She wept.

"It's okay, dear. We'll find a way out." Mir knew he was lying. But, he needed to at least calmed the poor girl down.

The nut girl came in again, now with a woman in her mid-fifty strapped on the stretcher. "Woah... I have three level of group age specimens." She breathed. Amusement dancing in her round eyes.

"Let them go. She's just a child. And she's an elderly! Don't you have heart?" Mir tried.

The psychotic girl laughed. "Lab rat..." She shook her head. "Sometimes, we need sacrifices to find a new knowledge. A small sacrifice for greater purpose." And Mir couldn't be more disagree and disgusted at that thought.
