Chapter 6
The Exiled Ice PrincessJessica’s POV
My left palm was blindly seeking for a surface, a hard surface, that can undoubtedly offer me support. I’m afraid of falling down. The strength flaunted by my
legs as I was walking away from Sunny and Yoona earlier seemed to be limited. Right outside the building, around the first corner, my lower appendages lost
their strengths altogether. As my left palm found the concrete wall of the building, my right palm instinctively clutched my chest. As if trying to hold my heart in
place. I gritted my teeth, face clearly hurt. Pain is threatening to resurface, though I believe that some of its subordinates were now in a superficial position
within me. Why? I should not be reacting like this right now! I hissed to my self. They betrayed me. I don’t deserve their betrayal. All those years, I treated
them as my true friends, as my sisters. As my second family. But what did I get in return? Their guarded and lying backs. They never even bothered explaining
to me why they did that. With all the messages I left them way back on the first week of my sorrowful hiatus, not a single soul obliged to give me an answer! No
one even bothered to visit my shattered soul. They deserved it, I convinced myself. I should muster all of my strength and courage to face this adventure.
Screw conscience. Screw throwing compassion at them. I’m gonna do this. I can definitely do this. I finally and fully convinced myself. No more backing out.
Standing straight, wiping all the invisible dirts on my dress, fixing my hair back to its glossy character, then walking down to the parking space where I left my
car as if nothing happened. It’s payback time.
A dragging and boring three cold weeks have passed since my encounter with Sunny and Yoona. Hoooh! I let out a coupled exhaustive breath. I’m bored.
Though definitely not caused by my career given that I still have photo shoots from several brand apparels, guesting in variety shows, and fan meetings that
are permanently imprinted on my schedule calendar. I’m bored to the core. I need to do something fun. And ahh, I remembered something. Did Sunny and
Yoona already recover from my unplanned and quick-witted reaction I showed them? I bet not. I grinned. I’m gonna do something fulfilling.
Hah! So proud of myself.

Glasses are cheerfully producing clunking sounds as these objects are being collided by their masters. Popping sounds of expensive champagne bottles
forcefully opened are dominating the neatly decorated apartment. All the important and treasured friends are around. Except for one. But not for long.
“Yoona, where’s Seung Gi?” Tiffany asked with her signature eye smile. “He’s with his friends. He said earlier on the phone that he’s spending real good
time with them at the beach.” with a flushed cheek and a matching innocent smile, Yoona replied. “That’s good then. Oh! Taeyeon, when did you get here?”
Tiffany asked the fastly approaching kid leader Taeyeon. “Just now. Ugh! The traffic is horrible out there. I need a drink.” Taeyeon replied as she slouched
on the couch where the two girls are sitting. She then grabbed a glass of champagne from the glass table located in front of them. “Oh! Before I forget,
congratulations dear.” Taeyeon exclaimed addressing the words to Yoona. “Thanks unnie.” Yoona replied with a grateful smile. “Any plans for the wedding?”
with great enthusiasm, Hyoyeon inquired while sitting beside the already settled girls on the couch. As if on cue Seohyun with her ever innocent aura,
Sooyoung with her plate full of food, Sunny with her perfect lips and Yuri with her unhidden iness appeared in front of them and then gradually finding
their positions on the almost filled couch. Yoona was taken aback by the question thrown at her. The room was now filled with the girls’ giggles, which is
unsurprisingly dominated by Sunny’s. “Yaaaah, Seung Gi just proposed yesterday!” Yoona retaliated. “We haven’t even formally thrown an engagement
party yet.” she added. The giggles now evolved into a very heartwarming laughter. “Wahahaha Gosh your face. You should have seen your reaction just now.
How adorable.” Hyoyeon burst out. Her comment garnered another set of laughter. “Hmmm is this in any way the appropriate reaction an adorable being
should receive?” addressing to no one in particular with a pout.
“She’s right. Do not bully her. I might cry.” an unexpected person, suddenly appearing from nowhere, delivered these words unemotionally, then smirked
ily.
And just like that, the laughter halted. From a lively and vivacious atmosphere, it suddenly went dead. Dead on the line. Even residues of the laughter tossed
earlier are nowhere in sight. Just like that. Everyone went still. Froze on the spot.
Is this in any way familiar to you? I’ll give you a hint. It’s the very famous effect that only one person can innately deliver. And that very person is now with them.
Together with them. Just like before.
