Chapter 4
The Exiled Ice PrincessYuri’s POV
“I disagree”. Calmly, I objected their irresponsible decision. Everyone looked at me with troubled expression. Are they worried for me? Gosh,
I can take good care of myself. “Am I hearing this correctly? Yuri, you disagree?” Hyoyeon questioned me with a matched curious
look. “Yep, what can I do? I don’t like what you guys came up with”. I shrugged at them. Sunny, with a torn expression asked me, “What
do you propose?” Ever since the unavoidable matter presented itself to us, I already have this heartfelt decision. “We fight back. We
don’t have to give up one member, we don’t have to give up Jessica just because they want it.” I looked at Taeyeon. She seemed to be
having a conscience battle that is clearly presented by her eyes, an expressionless face at that, but nonetheless I know she’s bothered.
“What do you think? You’re the leader, right? You should think for the welfare of your subordinates.” For a second there I thought I saw
her eyes started to water, but then when she said “We should think for the betterment of the many instead for the sake of one.” dignified
eyes are what I saw. Not the caring one, not the passionate one, but the rigid one. And just like that, I snapped. My calmness was gone
together with the wind that passed by. I unconsciously rose to my feet from the chair I was pinned on, it just felt that I have to get my
point straight to their brains. “Guys, Jessica is one of us! Our group is nonexistent without her presence. With her, we formed and
solidified this group! Did you all forget her hard work? Her contribution for this group, huh?” My eyes started to water. “I cannot believe
you guys. We can still save her position within the group. Just.....we just have to be strong.” And just like that, it started to flow.
“We...just...have....to..be....one.” I sat back down since it felt like my knees are starting to wobble. My physical strength was now minimal.
I scanned their faces one by one. They are hurt, that’s given, but their unified decision is still plastered all over their faces even though all
of them bowed their heads. I resigned. What can I do? I am just a mere member of this group.
“I know you like her. Like? Huh, it’s an understatement for what you feel. But please, don’t be ridiculous. Don’t sacrifice the security of
others just because of her. It’s pointless.” she hissed under her breath, afraid of the other members overhearing our conversation. Wow,
pointless? God if only she knew how I truly feel. “Pointless? Huh! And here you are, acting all dignified and whatnot.” and rolled my eyes
with that. I looked at her, more like stared directly at her eyes. If looks can kill, she’ll be in the E.R. right now. “All we had to do is be one.
Face the disaster together, and all of us? Just like the time we started as a unit, will be as happy as a clam.” and then walked past her.
Shoulders bumping as I traced the path that the other girls have taken. “If only that’s how simple it is.” I heard her say behind my back.

Jessica’s POV
“Unniiieeee!” Krystal shouted at me from afar. She’s worried, it’s shown all over her face. Oh! She knew already? I walked toward her
direction as she was also walking towards mine. Krystal met me at the airport to fetch me. I regained my composure, looked as if nothing
heart-shattering happened, as we were about 10 meters away from each other. “Hi...” my greeting came out breathless, so much for the
composure I thought I regained earlier. She hugged me. Everything that she wanted to say to me, all expressed through that embrace. I
dropped my handheld bag and hugged her back. And as she started to pat my back, all my forcefully held tears were now rejoicing with
their freedom. They’re gone. Krystal’s my only true friend now, aside from the fact that we’re siblings. She’s all I have.
“So unnie, what’s your plan now?” I smiled reassuringly to her. “I’ll continue my life, of course, without them.” I tinge of pain pulsated
in me. “Without them.” I repeated, as the realization of the reality flooded in me. I already made my decision. They’ll all be sorry when
we’ll bump in the near future. Though not assured, I’ll make them anyway. And smiled sweetly to Krystal.
