A good five seconds have passed, a loud BOOOM was heard. All the lights went out.

And gradually, all forms of noises died down. After a second of total darkness and silence,

a single straight bright light from the ceiling coursed its way down to the center of the stage.

And there she was, standing soulfully and elegantly in front of everyone, Taeyeon.

Her silky smooth navy blue dress and a braided blond hair made her even look like a goddess.

A queen, indeed. And her melodious and highly craved powerful voice started to wrap everyone’s beating heart.

Wiping her fallen tears away, she started to sing what her heart wanted to say out loud.

        This is for the people who just lost somebody

        Your best friend, your baby, your man or your lady        

Yeah, Jessica was once my everything, Taeyeon sadly thought to herself.

        Put your hand way up high, we will never say bye

A flicker of light coming from the left corner of the stage was caught in Taeyeon’s periphery.

The flash of light revealed someone, a lady.

            (No no no no)

 However, the illuminating light then disappeared after the lady soulfully sang her ad lib,

along with the frantic squeals and cheers of the shocked and overwhelmed audience.

The instantaneous disappearance of the light did not give Taeyeon enough time to see the

identity of the girl. However, deep inside her, the uniquely sweet voice emitted by the gir

l sounds really familiar. But she still have doubts, as long as she cannot see the face of the lady.

She continued the song like nothing happened, still with the same level of emotions.

In accordance to her partner’s really short ad libs, she was also given a very short flash of light to illuminate her.

Teasing Taeyeon all throughout the second stanza.

       This is for my people’s who lost their grandmothers*flash*(Eey..)*off*

       Lift your head to the sky ‘cause we will

However, for the second stanza, no soulful ad libs were thrown by her partner,

making Taeyeon decide to only focus her line of sight to the audience in front of her.

And to also just sing the following lines like talking to Jessica,

since clearly she misses her the most.

          As a child there were them times

          I didn’t get it but you kept me alive

         I didn’t know why you didn’t show up sometimes

          on Sunday mornings

       And I miss you, but I’m glad we talked through

        All them grown full things separation brings

        You never let me know it, you never let it show

        Because you loved me and obviously

       There’s so much more left to say

       If you were with me today face to face

However, after the third stanza, the bright light suddenly came back, and this time not hinting to disappear again.

Taeyeon focused her sight on the now illuminated lady.Then boom!

There’s Jessica Jung, standing elegantly in a purple one piece dress, looking ethereal, just like a goddess.

The fogs which encircled the heels of Jessica added to her exquisite appearance.

Once her eyes met and locked with Jessica’s, the raging emotions deep within Jessica radiated into her.

She can feel the anger, the sadness, the pain that Jessica’s eyes revealed.

This emotional revelation from Jessica made Taeyeon wanted to hug her. Tightly.

After successfully taking one step towards Jessica, the lady in purple then started to sing the chorus,

eyes still locked to Taeyeon, as if she was directly talking to her.

          As time goes by

Taeyeon then continued to sing for she knows that the following lines were totally

meant for her to say to Jessica. She and her longing heart really want to say something like this to Jessica.

         And it’s true that you reached a better place

       But it’s like you’re gone too soon

       Now the hardest thing to do is say bye bye

A twitch in Jessica’s heart suddenly appeared after Taeyeon sang the last line. 

But you were the one who decided to throw me away. Jessica bitterly thought.

Then in response to the last line, she wanted to say goodbye to Taeyeon,

making Jessica sing the next lines.

       Bye bye, bye bye, bye bye

      Bye bye, bye bye, bye bye, bye bye

Taeyeon got Jessica’s message. Her eyes were now again glassy.

Jessica’s bye straight through her heart, making her even more desperate to get Jessica back.

        And you never got the chance to see how good I’ve done

Taeyeon’s desperate counter made Jessica’s heart twitch a bit more.

God knows how badly she wanted to share every bit of success that she

have achieved in her life with Taeyeon, with her group members.

     I wish that you were here to celebrate together

    I wish that we could spend the holidays together

The next lines made her smile painfully. The lines made her reminisce her joyful memories with Taeyeon.

     I remember when you used to tuck me in at night

     With the teddy bear you gave that I held so tight

And just like the two short lines of good memories, Jessica’s painful smile started to fall apart

almost immediately after it was molded. Taeyeon then saw two tears started tracing Jessica’s

smooth skin. Taeyeon’s heart ached even more at the sight of the crying Jessica.

Then her eyes mirrored Jessica’s.

She felt even more guilty and helpless for the decision she made before which

caused the two of them being locked up in deep solitude.

          I thought you were so strong you’d make through whatever

         It’s so hard to accept the fact you’re gone forever

But because of Taeyeon’s selfishness, her right to be happy with her kid leader and with

the other members was removed selfishly from her.

Another set of tears were running down Jessica’s face.

While Jessica sings the chorus, Taeyeon delivered ad libs to, hopefully, caress Jessica’s pained heart.

Taeyeon beautifully delivered the same lines that she delivered before with an occasional

ad libs from Jessica’s heart. The same lines, but now with a whole new level of emotions.

With their tear-stained faces, the queens still professionally delivered the lines breathtakingly,

capturing millions of hearts from the viewers on the process.

       And I know that you’ve reached a better place

And with the insurmountable amount of pain and longing, brought by the sincere emotions

of Taeyeon that she thought Taeyeon never had, now coursing through Jessica’s veins,

she delivered ad libs in the highest possible caliber in accordance to every line that Taeyeon delivers.

Jessica made sure that her ad libs will express the emotions that are currently flooding her system.

Jessica’s unexpected ad libs brought chills down to every single spine present in the stadium, including Taeyeon’s.

Her ad libs matched perfectly to her lines. They have established the perfect synchrony that Taeyeon had hoped for.

But above all else, while looking straight through the tough and powerful exterior of Jessica Jung,

Taeyeon saw the fragile Jung Sooyeon.

She wanted to caress her face and comfort her Sooyeon. With this raging longing that has filled in

and coated her heart, Taeyeon burst out and hit her own set of high notes,

along with the perfect harmony offered by Jessica.

      And it’s true that you reached a better place (AS SOON AS YOU REACHED THE BETTER PLACE)

They hit the last note together, in perfect synchrony and harmony, making every person in the

stadium stand up, clap their hands, and cheer proudly to the two ladies in front of them.

A standing ovation for the queens.

Their tearful faces were reflected through the big screens scattered all over the stadium.

And because of such, the emotional duet of Jessica and Taeyeon sculpted itself to the now grieving

eyes and proud hearts of their audience, especially to the fans who know the tragic story behind the queens’ tears.

Although the two delivered the same lines and with the same intensity of emotions,

but the two held different meanings in their hearts.

Taeyeon doesn’t want, and just realized that she will never want, to say her goodbye to Jessica.

But sad to say, Jessica is still rooted in her initial decision to finally bid her farewell to Taeyeon.
