Amidst the darkness and fogginess of his future, Junhong was who he saw.
His world, as if it had been paused in prior to the moment, instantly lit up when the younger male came into his life. His world of black and white transformed into one with rich colors bursting out of every breath, every second of his life.
And that was why, despite the many hardships that they had been facing recently and they knew were awaiting, Jongup had never once thought about giving up. It was in overcoming these obstacles that they had to find joy, after all.
Obstacles like neither of them knowing how to cook.
It had been a month since they moved in together, a month of feeding on solely instant noodles, take out and ready made food. It wasn’t that Jongup or Junhong minded, though. Himchan was the one who had issues. And their actual parents, maybe.
“Junhong.” Jongup called, gazing at the pot on the stove.
“Yes?”
“It smells weird.”
“What does?” Junhong emerged from behind the kitchen counter, holding a carrot with a confused look on his face.
“The thing. On the stove. I don’t know.”
“Oh.”
Junhong strolled towards the stove, leaving the carrot on the counter. It was the first time they had actually made use of the kitchen, and it was only because Junhong wanted to cook for Jongup on his birthday.
The plan didn’t seem to be going very well, however.
