It was 3:46 AM when Himchan called.

Not that it mattered; Yongguk didn't sleep anyway. He couldn't. He always couldn't. That was why we was lying among the sheets, but staring at the ceiling.

The screen of his phone suddenly blared brightly amidst the darkness of his room, making him shield his eyes. He calmly reached out for the device on the bedside table, and lowered the brightness.

"Hello?" 

Yongguk swiped without checking the caller ID. His voice was low and groggy. His emotions were neutral, numb; he wasn't annoyed by the sudden intrusion into his thoughts.

"Hey, Yongguk."

So it was Himchan.

"Hmm." He lied flat on his stomach, resting his chin on a pillow. The sheets brushed against his skin. He let his eyes close.

"You aren't sleeping?"

It was a stupid question, Yongguk thought. Himchan should have known. Himchan knew; but he asked. He stayed silent for a while, thinking if he should lie. He decided against it.

"No." He answered simply, truthfully. He could hear Himchan's slow breathing from the other side and it calmed him down somehow.

"You should be."

Yongguk furrowed his eyebrows slightly. As if he could sleep. "You should be sleeping. It's almost 4, for 's sake."

There was silence from the other side. Yongguk shifted his pillow slightly, then laid down again. It was nice to hear Himchan breathe.

"I couldn't sleep." Himchan admitted, a few moments later. Yongguk could hear the sounds of fabric brushing from the other side; he figured that the younger man had pressed the phone against a pillow.
