Bang Yongguk never knew that dealing with kids could be so hard.
Himchan's nephews, 6-year-old Daehyun and 5-year-old Youngjae, were no doubt little devils. No matter how much Yongguk liked children, they managed to stress him out to the point that he wanted to run away and hide. (He did like kids, he just doesn't like taking care of them.) Just earlier in the day they had been mumbling weird stuff to a tomato plushie--Yongguk knew that they were summoning Satan.
He sighed as he picked up some more scattered Lego on the floor, the sole of his feet aching after having stepped on one. He dragged himself into the kitchen, which now looked barely like a kitchen. The refrigerator door was open, the contents were scattered across the floor, there was water leaking from somewhere, and bags of crisps were everywhere—a result of the two boys fighting for food.
Youngjae was on the floor crying, while Daehyun stared guiltily, clutching a bag of gummy bears in his hands tightly. Yongguk approached them with concern and picked the crying boy into his arms, rocking him slightly. “Shhh…what happened, Youngjae?”
“D-Daehyun, he took my food!”
Yongguk gently the boy’s back, trying to soothe him. “Daehyun, why did you take his food?” He asked, all the while patting Youngjae until the said boy’s sobs subsided.
“He won’t share!” Little Daehyun argued defensively, his lips forming a pout, the bag of gummy bears still clutched possessively in his hands. Yongguk sighed again, and patted Daehyun on the head, before saying: “But it’s rude to take his food without asking him. You have to apologize, Daehyunnie.”
Daehyun’s pout grew more prominent.
“Daehyun.” He repeated, more sternly this time. “Come on, apologize.”
