Yongguk sighed as he stood in front of their dorm, hands tucked into his pockets. The faint moonlight shone on the door knob and through the window he could see that the lights were not ; the other members were probably sleeping already.

It was a tiring day since he stayed back at the studio after their schedule for the day, but he ended up being not satisfied with his work. Recently none of his compositions satisfied him. He felt like he was not doing good enough, let alone improving. He was trying but his efforts seemed faint and it was frustrating.

Heaving another sigh, he fished out his keys, and reached towards the knob.

There was a thump noise coming from inside followed by a scream of pain. And then there was a shush, and then a gasp.

Yongguk chuckled lightly to himself, thinking that he'd been pressuring his ear drums all day so he was hearing things. 

And, that was why he was so surprised when he opened the door.

"SURPRISE!!" His bandmates' voice hit him hard, especially Daehyun's which was so loud he felt like someone stuck a needle into his ear. Eyes wide, he stepped backwards in shock, but a moment later he could not resist the wide smile which appeared on his face.

Oh, Yongguk thought, my birthday.
